The 1925 Sovereign appears to have a P mintmark right above the date, meaning it was minted in Perth, Western Australia. Certainly carries a premium over the British 1925s which are basically all restrikes. Also the S mintmark on the 1887 Sovereign is for Sydney, a little further afield than San Francisco :P
Nice! Fun to go through old collections like that. Reminds me of my small inheritance I received from my folks. Similar coins and condition. Thanks for sharing
Nice video. As a coin collector since 30 years I have also often checked some family collections like this. Also in Europe the average houshold has the same junk silver, worthless foreign small change and sometimes luckily some gold coins. You presented it very well. In Europe all this silver is put to melting companies. It´s sad, because there are often nicer coins than usual.
I HAD A MINT HALF ROLL OF 1943D STEEL CENT, THAT I OPENED (WITH GLOVES) IT LOOKS LIKE ABOUT 6 OF THEM ARE ERRORS LIKE DDO, 3 WITH DIE CRACKS, DO YOU THINK IT WOULD BE WORTH GETTING GRADED BY NGC? I COULD SEND YOU SOME PICTURES. MAYBE YOU WOULD BE INTERESTED IN BUYING ALL 25. THANKS, EMILE FROM CT.
This way such a great collection! Those Morgan's stood the test of time. Was the pouch leather? The gold was beautiful of course. Even the constitutional was in great condition. And best part, you can almost be sure non of the coins were cleaned. For a "smaller" collection, it was a very smart collection imo. You did a great job. You're definitely the person to go to with a collection. Thank you, very enjoyable video 🌟
Beautiful collection. I love coins and currency so much. I used to have a little decent collection and I left it all in a storage unit in Florida along with sooo soo much more items worth a decent amount of money.quit paying my storage unit once I moved back up to Alaska and to this day I kinda regret not getting all my stuff out of that storage unit. Biggest L I took in my 21 years of life.
I dont fully collect couns but I appreciate history so I just spend a couple bucks here and there on coins. I never spent more than 25 bucks on a single coin and it was a 1866 3cent which was in incredibly good shape. You could very clearly make out every letter and leaf on the coin.
Love your videos, Christian. Lucky to find a couple of 1884-S! Your Roman coin is not an antoninianus. It's a very common 4th century bronze, showing Jupiter holding Nike, the goddess of victory. In the condition it is in, it has virtually no value, I'm afraid. But your other great finds more than make up for that!
Thank you so much for letting me know - and certainly great to see these 1884S popping up. Would love to grade em - and cool to know the history behind the Roman.
Bills are all about condition... bought a collection few months ago and really old fractional currency which cool but worthless because it was not stored properly
I believe he was only appraising the collection? I'm sure he told the owner his knowledge and opinions, but it's the owners decision. Notice the saflaps with Morgan's. That's what you use to send coins to be graded, so I think they're on it 👍🤗 just guessing though. But my ocd kicked in hard when I saw Christian put the Morgan's in opposite of the way I put coins in....might have to change all the coins I have in them 🤷🏼♀️
I like to add unique items even if not valuable to my coin collection. I have a ticket to a political convention with date and seat number. Only one in the world. I have a Bulgarian war medal, with paper work about the recipient, that must be a one-off in the United States. It is very old. The collection in the video is similar to thousands of others, nice but common. Silver is always fun to look for. I recently found a Japanese 50 Sen coin from the Meiji period, 80% silver, beautiful and only 50 cents at a yard sale. Value? Over $20!
Sherwood, my knowing who to talk to whenever I would like to move a few of my rarities, but for some reason another nobody wants to get on board God bless
While it might be otherwise it looks to me like a leather cigarette case. Often they have smaller secondary pouches inside or outside for a lighter or book of matches. Check Tobacciana collectables.

Me and my family got hired to clean out a house after a lady had passed away. Their children said they absolutely hated her for how they were raised and wanted nothing to do with anything of hers. So as we started gutting the place, we stumbled upon a book shelf with nothing but old and I mean old books of which we had no clue were collectibles and valuable, so we threw them straight into the trash which to this day I regret. But then we kept cleaning the book shelf and some of the books were old dansco albums and two big velvet crown royal bags FULL with Morgan dollars a total of 387 to be exact. And like a young and dumb ass hole, I got into drugs as a teen and basically sold every Morgan to a local coin shop. I was paid on average 30 dollars some 90 others 180 but I was paid 1200 and 2500 for 2 coins which I regret having sold all together. Moral of the story, you live and learn and eventually I'll repay my parents for the biggest mistake I've made in my life.
I gave you a like just because I like coins but I was slightly disappointed I would have preferred to been shown in debt in that video the Morgan's over the others
He is not buying it tought.... That was just a rapid estimation on the top off his head. He says at the start of the video one of his friends wants an estimate....
He said he was helping a friend. And I don't think Christian would be unfair with anyone, or not share his knowledge. Look what he shares with us here, for free. I would trust him to estimate any collection. This was a quick look over, he mentioned needing to check some things. Going through things quickly on camera can't be easy. He does it more for us, I think. I was just happy he let us watch him go through it.
I generally avoid gloves on non-dirty coins actually! The graders at NGC/PCGS don't use gloves - it's easy to drop the coins. Make sure to wash your hands before handling, though.
You TT are a truly honest man to a degree,I mean to literally grade a collection of Treasure I'm serious without any kind of payment is just ludicrous. There is probably close to 10K that you searched thru and didn't get one cent of pay for your help is just ridiculous.Honestly the people who own that should have their butts kicked for being so selfish for flaunting a small fortune in front of you and just turn around and probably sell it and make enough to buy a brand new car.I can say I would fully expect some kind of gift for making them richer. But thats just me I guess.
