The amount of leverage you get when you hold the 15rd mag on the Shield makes it feel like a fuller gun and easier to manage recoil. I'm cool with it being longer.
Not to be a know it all or anything lol, but the shield plus is actually double stacked, just not quite as double stacked as a regular m&p if that makes sense. It's kinda like a Glock 43X
I'm not sure if it's double stack or "staggered" stack either way there's 15 rounds in a slim ass gun & that's cool we have so many choices 💯👍👍 BTW on the 🛡️+ the magazines are made by MEC-GAR magazine company!
@@linger2001 Here's more enlightenment for ya: The magazine he says "fits the shield plus is actually an equalizer mag" Is actually a shield plus mag and it says so right on the bottom. The equalizer comes with 3 mags, 10, 13, and15 and are marked shield plus
Been waiting to get a good look at the 15 round mag in the shield, looks awesome, crazy to think how far we've come, the standard capacity, 16 rounds in a tiny gun... Can't wait to get some! Thx for the video
I agree bro. I was shopping for a Glock 43x and ended up getting a Shield Plus and I could not be happier. This is one of the best all around firearms I’ve ever owned.
Thank you for the video, some people just show the mag.... by itself. You had the clarity to actually show it in the firearm and better still - a comparison with other popular firearms with the same capacity set ups. Hats off to you.
I use the MagGuts for both mags. 10 to 13 with pinky extension and 13 to 15 with also a small pinky extension. And the product is top notch, no issues whatsoever from either springs or baseplates.
I believe the Shield plus stack is called the stack and a half. I ordered one of those 15 rounders for mine a couple months ago. It ran flawlessly and the fit is REALLY on point. After a couple hundred rounds I ordered 5 more. Worth every penny
It's a thin as a single stack yet holds as much as a double stack and with the equalizer mag has the capacity of a compact. Like a scaled down Glock 19x it has the girl of the larger class but the slide of a shorter class
Another nice thing is if youu have the Shield 40 or mod 2 shield 40, the slide, spring, and barrel will swap giving you a very nice shield plus 40. Problem they won't make a shield plus 40 magazine. If ya try using the plus 9 mag with 40s&w, it jams reeaall tight about 5 rounds. I carry the 13rd plus 9mm.
There it is the SLR base plate, I love it! Man those S-15 mags for me have been duds. I have ordered 2 sets of 3 mag bundles including their metal mag catch/release and still no luck with them. Both sets have been set off twice and come back as “Passed inspection”. Ah the pain…..I really want for them to work for my 43X. Have you had any issues with those mags?
I haven’t had any issues with the s15 Gen 2 mags but I know a lot of people who have so it always makes me nervous. The slr rifle works baseplate is the best in my opinion as well!
Has anyone had any problems in 2024 with the magazine issues with the shield plus on how some people couldn’t load a 13th round I read some problems online and wasn’t sure if they fixed this , I’m hoping to pick this up soon in 2024
Hay I know this is off topic for the video. Sorry. Just curious what your thoughts are on the old ruger sr9c, if you have had any experience with them.
I actually had the sr9c. Loved the firearm but kept having issues with it. Ended up sending it to ruger, and selling it. I wish I still had it tho! If yours runs and doesn’t malfunction, then it’s a great firearm!
@@spnfirearms I had one. But sold it to get a P365, not a day goes by that I don’t regret that. Not that I didn’t love the sig, but the SR 9C worked so well for me.
It's lighter by an ounce. You'll really notice it in the width though. The traditional double stack feels so fat after you've been shooting something as slim as a shield. Plus, when carrying, thickness will print before grip length prints if you carry appendix
Exactly that's my personal protection peace 4-in performance center with the 15 round mag It's almost a whole nother different firearm not necessarily the performance but especially the look of it according to the girl.
Good comparison. Shields have always been larger and heavier, but easier to shoot. I’m chomping at the bit for ruger to make a larger max 9, or even just a larger max 9 magazine.
The guys that complain about the 15 round mag are the same guys running the 10 round mag with 3 fingers. For Gods sake man. Run the 13 so you're not holding the gun like a goofball
If you know shooting you’ll realize your pinky does nothing. Running flush mags with your pinky hanging off you should be able to shoot just as well. Learn shooting my man
S&W mags are notorious for being extremely tight and difficult sometimes, especially when brand new. Keep trying and keep it loaded with 14 for now. Eventually you should be able to fit in 15 rounds when you break the mag in a bit more. I think it helps to keep the mag as loaded as possible and every few days you can try to fit more in. You might have to manhandle it a bit or be patient.
@@TerminalM193 I trim and smooth out the spring seat. There are videos on how to do this. Or your can use a stripper style speedloader to force the rounds in with more leverage. It will set a wear pattern in that same spring perch.
Why a 15 round mag doesn’t come with a shield plus is beyond me…. The shield plus is the best carry gun they have. CSX sucks, ez sucks, equalizer sucks. Weight size and minimal parts makes the shield #1
It’s your backup mag so why not have a mag that holds 15 if it’s available? If I’m reloading in a shooting scenario I want the most rounds I can get in a single reload. I’m not a clown either. I’m an adult making a statement of observation and reasoning that could save my life or someone else’s. You should do the same.
The Smith & Wesson 15-round Shield plus Magazine spring does not lock the slide back on the last round very disappointing especially if you have a loaded down for a little while
Let's do the math. You have 3 assailants, not impossible if you are in a city like Chicago,Detroit,New York. So,3 assailants, you need to put two rounds in each to ensure they go down and you have a 50% hit ratio. How many rounds do you need to carry?
@@dragonfly4494 i live in the boonies. Im not going to the big city and not planning to go there either. My nearest neighbor is a mile from my house other than that im on the wide open country side. Problem is the 15 round mag will not lock back after the last round in the Shield Plus . Why ?
Is there an extended mag, maybe 10 rds or so for a m&p shield 45?
Not as small as the other options but I love my Shield Plus. The P365 was simply to small for hands and I just didn’t like the Hellcat. Great video 👍
Same the P365 was too small for my hands, the Shield Plus felt the best in my hands
Can't carry the sig with the issues it's had.
My shield plus replaced my hellcat for EDC. But I still love my hellcat. Own both, and my hellcat now has over 9k rounds down the pipe.
@Chris D I will never carry a SIG again! Too many issues, recalls, and price unjustified
