is that you in reply to my comment above?
We thought similar about van life in London, however after having to stay for work we found it super easy! North London (Theobalds Park Camping and Caravanning club) was great and a 20min walk to overground. We also found that Watford was a great area for wild camping with a friendly community, lots of park ups and on the tube line! Currently I'm working in Windsor and have found this area to be the best for wild camping with links still to london. Windsor has a designated campervan park up thats free overnight (with water tap 😉) and right in the town centre - I highly recommend 👌
Woolwich Ferry is free, its the best way to cross the river there. You would have driven right by my house, you should have popped in for a cup of tea. I have a flock of parakeets that visit my South London garden regularly.
I found that amazing 🤩😲
@@ThoseHappyDays I am amazed by it too. But love their visits especially on dull , overcast days. They provide colour and vibrancy although cost alot in fat balls, but worth it. 💕💜Happy travels, your channel is my favourite. Always makes me smile 😃😃Plus, try many of your recipes, easing into the vegan lifestyle.
Parakeets fly all around London they fly by my house and my mum's house daily
Them birds actually taste amazing especially marinated in red wine and onion with a herb of your choice, you don’t get much meat on them so I normally have three for my dinner
I don’t get loving this band at all.. but glad u loved it
now THAT was epic-and how fortuitous that your fave band got back together and you got to see them live in the captial city! You made London vanlife look totally possible. I did not know there were campsites in London!! Amazing!! I really enjoyed sharing your trip back down memory lane. Much respect and regards-Kenny
Thanks Kenny ✌️
Great to pass you in Enfield today Sunday. We could not believe our eyes. We had just watched your London campsite output before heading out to the shops. Then Morgan sails past us as we are turning into the supermarket. Nice to wave and get one back from you both.
Haha nice to meet you guys
Who knew there were campsites in London. The first one looks like you are in the countryside. Amazing. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us. Stay safe and happy travels xx
Yeah it was actually beautiful 😍
Loved the video :-) I was born in Islington and now live 5 mins from Woolwich ferry. I didn’t know any of the 3 campsites you highlighted so educational as well as positive, funny and uplifting. Thanks to the both of you 🙏🏼
Pleased you liked it 😀
Hey Nicky from Islington..born n bred ☺️
Hey Nick from Islington..born n bred ☺️
When the CZcams algorithm brings up a video of someone you know!Went to college with Liam, top man! One of my best teenage memories was an epic house party at his, many things I can’t mention in public! But everyone forming a line from the freezer to the oven and passing down all the food his parents left him for the week to cook was a funny sight 😂
Ha! How cool.
Thank you for being so complimentary about London guys. It's my hometown and I love it, but so many people complain about it, and don't forgive it for it's problems.
Ah thanks we had such a good time
The 90s was my favourite decade, the music was incredible. It started with the Manchester scene, with the Stone Roses and Happy Mondays then the American post punk scene exploded into Grunge. The Raves were amazing and felt like such a happy optimistic time.
100💯
Sitting here in Epping Forest, not too far from Lee Valley, half watching, listening to your experience of London, and 'God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen', while folding origami Christmas stars for table decorations. What a lovely way to spend half an hour on a Sunday afternoon!
🧑🎄🧑🎄🧑🎄🧑🎄
The site at Crystal Palace is open until 18th of December and you can get a bus 300 yards away from the site entrance right into the centre of London for £1.50. It runs 24hrs a day and is perfect for trips to London. The future of the site is uncertain as the local Council want to build houses on it. It's had a stay of execution for 12 months at a time for about the last 3 or 4 years now, so not sure how many more years it'll be there. Worth a visit though
Brilliant video again. Your energy and enthusiasm lifted my spirits and filled me with happiness. Laughed out loud at your panic when approaching the ferry. Your filming of the gig was superb and really captured the electric atmosphere and brought back so many memories for me, from being at gigs in London during the 80's and 90's. Thank you so much x
🎵🎵❤️
This was GREAT! So good to see London partying again like the good old days😍Your production abilities are amazing. Keep up the good work. You keep hope alive for all.
Thank you 🎵🎵🙏
Wow, you have opened our eyes to camping in London, thank you. It was great to see you both having fun with friends xx
Has to be done 🤩
@@ThoseHappyDays I can't, it's £200 a day for my van to be in London
@@alanhat5252 is that CAZ charge ?
How fabulous to be invited to a gig by the band itself, especially when they are a favourite band of yours and you didn’t even know the gig was happening because they’ve been split up from before you got into them. It looks like you had an amazing night.
The first camp site you stayed on looked very pretty with all of the trees in Autumnal colours, definitely a surprise in the middle of London. Looking forward to seeing how wild camping in the city goes.
Yeah such a strange week with beautiful happenings
Hi guys. Great vid today. Those camp sites in London are really handy for getting into town. Really good to see Liam enjoying the gig . . Funny to see you ending up on the Woolwich ferry. . Take care guys.
Watched all of your previous videos but can't tell you how much I especially enjoyed this one! Packed full of information and really great to watch. You're doing a wonderful job please keep it up, it's great viewing.
So pleased you did 😀
My, you two have a way of pulling our heartstrings! Such a great time, thanks for sharing it with us!
🙏🚐🤣
Glad you enjoyed yourselves so much!
I live a short distance from the Lea Valley campsite. Although the site itself is a bit barren, a quick glance at the satellite view of the area will show you that it’s part of a huge wetlands park, with large reservoirs and a navigable canal, (River Lee or Lea), leading down to the Thames. Where you have a navigation, you have a tow path which can be a great walking or cycling route, always flat and away from roads.
I can't wait! Next summer i want to take my kayak out and navigate the rivers, starting with the river i grew up by, the lea. i'll be camping on the banks and documenting it. Will also bring me wetsuit and have a lil swim if safety(and absence of raw sewage!) allows it.
What a great video 🤩 the panic in your voices when you realised they you were going on a ferry 🤣🤣 I would have been the same 😊 can’t believe how beautiful that first campsite was 😍 thank you for sharing 👍
🤣🤣🤣
I squatted in London in 2008 when I was a angsty 18 year old punk. I lasted 4 months before moving back to my comfortable home in Ireland 😂 I had such a good time though and it really made me grow up.
Pete seemed like a level headed introverted chap. Few pints down him hes ripped his top off and screaming 😄 Great stuff
Haha that's Pete
What a blast from the past... That first campsite really did look lovely, who would of thought.. So glad you had a brilliant night. ❤️
Thank you, its a stunner
So glad you enjoyed your time I enjoyed watching you both I think I sat with a grin on my face the whole video ,thanks for showing , all the best from a brit in Canada xxxx
Loved the park camping and such a reasonable price. Thinking of maybe taking Beryl there and then carrying on to see hubby's sister close by. Thank you so much for the content. It has proved to be very useful to us. xx
Go for it
When our daughter moved into a bed sit in London in 1989 we spent many holidays visiting her over the next few years and spent lots of time on both of these campsites it was great to see them again👋👋👋👋
They're great aren't they
I thoroughly enjoyed this video thanks to the both of you …. What a great adventure you are taking us and am glad I have came along for the ride x
🙏🍁
It’s great to see you both getting these opportunities now through doing vlogging and van life. 🤩❤️🚛
Great vlog guys , can see you enjoyed the gig! Looking forward to part two xx
🤩🚐❤️
£15 pounds near center of london thats amazing guys. love your channel. please don't stop making these videos. you are number one make no mistake!
You're too kind thank you
@@ThoseHappyDays take care guys great videos. X
Oh my! The Lea Valley campsite is in Edmonton, the town I grew up in. There used to be Picketts Lock leisure centre there (I used to go drinking at the golf range bar) and the cinema and a restaurant was built in front of the centre to make it a more leisure complex. I moved away in 2002 and they apparently pulled down Picketts Lock and built the athletics centre for the 2012 olympics.
That was a fantastic video guys it had everything!
Thanks for making
Take care and stay safe
thanks for the info on the sites down there and so glad to see you both having a night out again ❤❤❤
Thanks guys, you would love Abbey Wood...go check it out
Used to live near Woolwich and went to college there many years ago. I don't go to London the congestion charging puts me off tbh. The zone seems to creeping out towards Kent now. Glad I moved to Swanage in Dorset. Brings back some old memories seeing the Woolwich ferry. There is a walkway under the Thames from Woolwich to Silvertown too. Happy days Lol...🙂🙂🙂
hey guys, I pretty much never subscribe to channels (even the ones I watch all the time) but love you're stuff, im a micro camper and love to travel and u've really opened my eyes to what im capable of doing with next to nothing! Thankyou and happy travels!!!
My family went camping for a week in London Crystal Palace in the 80s! Also I lived in the docklands part of London for 10 years and often took the free ferry to Woolwich to go shopping !!!
What a crazy city 🤣
There are road traffic signs telling drivers ferry ahead. Should be no surprise to a experienced alert driver lol
Absolutely loving the content! I'll be starting van life soon in my 1987 talbot express. Taking plenty notes from the two of you.
We love Talbots, and will be looking out for you
Pro- level pacing and editing to your videography/ story telling. Excellent!
🙏🚐🤩
Yeah, so now youvé set a benchmark for all those vanlife bloggers, love it👍
Aw thank you 😊
What a great challenge and so informative for us all. We actually stayed in the 2nd one 35 years ago. Enjoy the rest of your time in London!!
Also more importantly love a great lively gig. Never wanted to live in London but always envious that they get the best gigs, glad it lived up to your hopes and expectations
Just completed your London series and I loved it! I would NEVER have guessed you could camp in London! 😍 What an awesome way to visit the city... I also totally resonate with what Liam said about the 1990s...definitely a great time to be alive that I will cherish forever❤
Really appreciate you going through and watching our older episodes 🙏
It is my greatest pleasure, and I will continue to do so every day 😊
@@mariesantosPMD 🙏🙏🙏
I'm a bit wary of going to London, this makes it seem not so scary, thank you x
🎉 wow🎉 amazing London.. cannot believe they have camping in London .. what a great find xx
Amazing vlog both, who would have known about those sites! Amazing value and I laughed when you hit the ferry because that happened to me once. The M25 was shut both ways and my sat nav took me across London from Kent.Great to relive old memories . Great to see you both really happy .
Haha glad it's not just us
@@ThoseHappyDays no, it's everyone :-D
Great video. Symposium you are stars to invite our favourite van lifers. Good on you. Fantastic energy after 23 years! Liam I bet you still have a smile on your face. What a surprise about the camp sites? Just be very careful wild camping won't you? All best ♥️
Thank you 🍁
Great video guys, but I would sooner be on the right side of the law and pay our way my wife and look at it this way if we couldn't afford to pay than we will not do it,,but then your channel is parking where ever and getting away without paying or paying the minimum charge, but not knocking you guys and you do a brilliant job of showing the ups and downs of Van Life,,ps we are not full van lifers we are a couple of weeks here and there camping with our German Shepherd dog 🐕.
Great video. I lived in Sarth London for 17 years and never went across the Woolwich Ferry as far as I remember! That first campsite was amazing.
Yeah it's a winner that one
🌴Aloha from Hawaii.💚Thanks for sharing. It's exciting to see the sites thru your eyes. Of which we, from elsewhere, see it by way of tourist bureau ads.💙 Looking forward to more driving sights.💛
Just caught up…fantastic vlog, thank you both so much!
Thanks for even more useful information! The 2 campsites look great!
No worries 🤩
My camper van is the old police sprinter van that spent most of its life outside Buckingham palace. Great campsites guys good content as usual
Ah no way 😲
I lived in St John's Newfoundland inner city campground called Pippy Park surrounded by a Boreal forest and wooden walkways everywhere connecting numerous well stocked ponds easily accessing the city by foot.
So lovely to see your excited gig buzzing! And thanks for showing that it is possible to camp in London, means I might get down there for some gigs myself I usually pick anywhere but London!
Wow what a video ! So much , loved the content- edited - masterclass! Loved it 😊
Thank you 🍁
Great video! Loved the story about Symposium, happy for you and them! Yes the 90s were a great decade x
❤️🙏
I did the same in Poole Dorset.....I was driving and realised I was in a queue for the ferry. I was on my own and absolutely terrified in what to do. The sat nav was taking me quickest way to destination without telling me about the ferry x
🤣🤣🤣 it's confusing
Unbelievable who would believe that was available in London fantastic video thanks 👍
I know, right, proper shocker
Wow, you were in my neck of the woods in Edmonton Green! I love living in London, so I’m glad you got to see how diverse and exciting it can be. Good luck with the wild camping and I’m looking forward to seeing how you get on next week 👍
Been walking about Edmonton green recently, nice to see such a diverse place
Great video, the gig looks brilliant.
I never thought of camping in London, I didn't know it was possible, it's a game-changer.
I stopped at Abby wood. Loved it, the site had parakeet's in all the trees. Used the river taxis up to Westminster
Great video. Thank you both. Having been born and grown up in Woolwich, I really smiled when you started to panic about finding yourselves heading towards the Woolwich Free Ferry - and where it would take you! I'm old enough to remember going on the paddle steamer ferry boats back in the mid 1950s and being taken down to the engine rooms to see the massive workings thundering away as we prepared to leave the loading ramps. A real treat for a kid - and we just went to the other side and back several times before going home. I was always told that it was the only free ferry in the world. Is that still the case I wonder? Keep up the good work Janine and Liam and greetings from Bodmin Moor - a long way from south London.
Rather be on Bodmin Moor than London! Liam and Janine be careful where you wild camp in London. I think you're very brave going out after dark in London anyway, especially carrying all your tech gear about with you. Mind how you go.
Will do don't worry
We have looked at Abbey Wood as a base for a long weekend In London. Thanks for sharing and you have now confirmed for us that we need to just get it booked, makes a stay in London very affordable. xx
Yeah get it booked soon I would
Wow ! Camp sites that close to London you two really are a help I never knew that . Another great blog
🤣🚐
Guys amazing content. You took your time and dedication to share with us your life, thats amazing and pure youtube best philosophy.
Keep it up !!
Wow, thank you!
Awesome video you two, very inspiring! Liam great to see you without a hat on, au naturel, Rock On🤟
Check out the Edinburgh festival. Camp sites to the South and North of the City with a 20 minute bus ride to the City Centre. Book early. Edinburgh can match London for buzz factor at August.
Hi from Rhodes Greece. You guys surprise me all the time. Never know what is next. Love, love all the excitement.
When you were talking about birds , I remembered what my son told me about a magpie,
You have to salute it and say this for good luck. one for sorrow , two for joy, three for a girl, four for a boy, five for silver, six for gold, seven for ..... I forgot it!!! Really nice. Anyway thanks for another stunning 😘 video.
Seven for a secret never to be told!
Every video there's something great to tell us... fab... thank you!
It's because we have a crazy life
Re Lee Valley. The cinema and sports centre have been there for decades. See 'Some Mother's Do 'Ave 'Em' when Frank Spencer is roller skating.
50 k subscribers. Congratulations 🎉. Onward and upwards 😊
Thank you 🍁
This is so cool and helpful!!
Loved the video.. London was my home town although we now live on the south coast… you’ve inspired us to go back & try Abbey Wood in our campervan….. we usually go up & back to the theatre by train o. the same day..
Go for it, its such cool site
What a fun video really enjoyed it made me laugh and I felt you're excitement all the way from New Zealand sitting in my taxi in the middle of the night 😊
Liam you are a lot braver than me driving in London after over thirty five plus years of driving I refuse to even go near London even when I drove professionally it's a mad house so well done mate.
Last time I stayed in London to see a show was in 2006 and was with a group of colleges (company paid for it as a long service award) in a five star hotel very noisy outside.
I never knew that there was camp sites in London.
If you ever travel north along the A1 when you reach Biggleswade turn left at the Sainsbury's roundabout follow road to next roundabout and on your right you will see G M Growers they don't do ready meals but proper fresh vegetables which judging by Liam's cooking he would appreciate.
Great vid, love your passion for the band, keep enjoying yourselves because that's what life is supposed to be about.
🙏💯👍
Hi both just found your channel now watch 4 now, so lovely to find a genuine couple keep up the fantastic content 👍👍👍👍
Thank you for joining us, welcome 🙏
After watching this episode, and then having maybe a few too many on Christmas Day, we booked Abbey Wood campsite, and back to the future the musical.
Well, having never had any desire to camp in or anywhere near London, we just woke up to the sound of parakeets after a fantastic weekend thanks to this video.
Thanks guys x
Amazing! So pleased you did that 👏
Absolutely loved the video will be booking tomorrow so I can go next November to the craft fair in Islington and have a few days in london we are getting our motorhome in February after eighteen months of waiting and we can’t wait, we are also booking for cropredy and then round Oxford, love love the vlogs and you two are just gorgeous hope Janine this year will be good and no cough xxx
Liam and Janine as per usual u have made a SUPER vid 😀 So much creativity has gone into this with the campsite views, the play and the band. It's not a bog standard trip to London for the sights it's way beyond that, and it certainly takes immense skill to go way beyond the usual standard trip to London ❤️
Namaste and Blessings
Kas ❤️🕉️❤️🕉️❤️🕉️❤️🕉️❤️🕉️❤️
Thank you Kas, that means a lot ❤️
Great campsite …..who knew!!!🎉 🎡🚛 🌲🦜🦜🦜 what a fantastic blast from the past for you 🎼🎸🥁🎤🍻👣👣
Thank you, was amazing 👏
My hubby grew up in Abbey wood, obvs not on the campsite but it’s a great place to access London sites from … glad you liked it and thanks for the great blog…really enjoyed this one
🙏🙏
Great video thanks guys 😀
We have stayed a few times in London at the Crystal Palace camp site, it’s lovely with a huge park next to it ,Perfect for when we visited family. Really enjoyed seeing the other sites, we’ll definitely try them soon. So wonderful for Liam to see his favourite band! ❤
🙏🙏🙏
WOW! Great Vlog! Never even considered London for camping before. The prices were amazing! Not long back from Europe where capital city campsites were very pricey but options so limited you just think well gotta go with the flow. We are not long back from Edinburgh for a gig and our site was more than yours but cheaper than Europe. You are right though if its a good gig or show you will talk about forever. Sugababes - Usher Hall were amazing.
Ah pleased you had a good time, yeah I think camping and watching bands is going to be a thing for us now haha
Great video!
Your enthusiasm is infectious.
Also, the content is spot on and who would believe you can camp in London for such a reasonable price.
I accidentally came across your site couldn’t stop watching you videos. So it’s a subscribe for me👍🏻
Thank you for subbing, really appreciate it 🙏
You're such a lovely couple! Address your entusiasm and obvious devotion to each other. Brilliant.
💚✨️🙏
That’s such good value for campsites in London.Great video .
Isn't it just
Cool video u2 enthusiastic and brilliant as always
Glad u enjoyed the gig

Much love to you Steven 👍
Morgan +2...I bet you got the shock of your lives when you realised you were driving on to a ferry ⛴ 🤣 my heart would have bloody stopped 😂😂 anyway fortunately it was on the right track. 1st campsite looks really very pleasant 😍 you could have been anywhere & in fact it was central London..how bizarre but a lovely surprise. 2nd campsite had the lot..cinema included!! The excitement of the evening you were looking forward to was, etched all over your face Liam..great to see such passion in something you like & it turned out a really great evening for you both ..not forgetting the 'Back to the future' evening too...looking forward to part two of this episode..great vlog really enjoying your ' escapades ' keep warm and stay safe and well 👍
Thanks David, you nailed it there! 👍 thanks for commenting as always
I contemplated on my four day trip to London with two women travel agents in February in the 90's. I like your channel and the quality of your videos. I don't remember where we stayed but we hit all the big spots. The flowers were just starting to bloom in the park off Buckingham Palace. Went to the museum and saw the Crown Jewels and toured the Tower. Of course walked through the City and hit the pubs. Good memories.
Yay Woolwich ferry. We live just by where you are staying!
Great video guys 👍 so awesome to be able to be nostalgic about a certain time I could feel how you felt about the nineties and how good life was then 👌 it's the seventies for me loved it so much wish I could go back 🙌❤️ not so good now that's for sure 😩 anyway thanks for the entertainment 👍❤️
🙏❤️
Excellent vlog. I spend a lot of time in London. I love the city, it has so much to do and so easy to travel around. I went to see Back to the Future earlier this year. It was one of the best musicals I have seen and I really enjoyed it. The special effects were amazing. However the door of car came open in the final scene and doc nearly fell out 😬. Can’t wait to see what you do next!! Camp sites that near London! Never knew that! ❤
Haha no way 🤣🤣🤣
What fun! So glad you got to see your old band!
Aw same, was a dream come true 🤩
