  • ** Attention sleeping warrior ** I have set up a private room on my discord (link below). Please come in so we can look to arrange a debate - Thanks
Sleeping Warrior aka Anthony Riley attempted to disprove gravity using an egg. Mr Sensible (that's me!) created a debunk video using the humblest of ingredients... cheese!
Mr Riley has been commenting and had offered to have a hangout debate. This is where we are now...
    Please like and subscribe.

"This is not science. It's technology". Laugh, I nearly shat. How does he think his little meter came about? Lots of found components just slung, fortuitously, together. They (flat earthers) don't seem to associate any technology with science.

Hi Mr. Sensible! loved the video. If you think about doing more cheese density experiments in the future I have a suggestion.
You will need 5-7 varieties of cheese that can be sliced, and 2 slices of bread.
Put a piece of bread on a plate or other flat and level surface. Stack slices of cheese on it in a random order. Then put the other bread slice on top.
Give it some time to come to equilibrium and then determine whether the slices have rearranged themselves in order of density.
Of course, you'll need to repeat the experiment a few times, randomly stacking each time.

He has no valid answer for the density column that the flat earthers loved for a time to trot out as their poster experiment proving the density is the reason.
Also he has no answer to why a different density causes the denser object to fall rather than any other direction, he does not have a clue why these things happen and assumes when we ask why we are saying gravity. At no time in my questions did I propose gravity was involved, other than ask him to explain the density column without suggesting why.

One of his common tactics is to try to force his opponent to agree with something he's proposed and to keep insisting that they're denying scientific method if they refuse to do so. He did this with Bob the Science Guy - he read out a bunch of definitions of the scientific method and tried to claim that there were only two possible positions: either Bob agreed with them or he didn't. Bob's position was that he agreed with the definitions but not with Riley's interpretation of them. Riley will also try to skate over important distinctions, such as that "the presumed cause" does not mean "the cause".

Riley will never understand how density and bouncy are not forces. For either to work they require a force acting upon them. This is known as confirmation bias. He even states that he doesn't know what ppm means yet insists that everything is due to his conclusions. Such a sad individual.

Anthony added salt to the liquid. The salt had mass and directly affected the liquid in two ways - it added mass to the liquid, and induced displacement currents in the liquid as some salt sank to the bottom. Both actions affected the experiment and caused the effect.
He cannot complain about us pointing out the effect his actions had on the experiment and the result they caused.

He really can not get his head around the fact that the denser the water, the greater the buoyancy of any object dropped into that water. Sometimes great enough to have the effect we see here. had he used a BB, or a tiny piece of steel or lead shot, the altered buoyancy would not be great enough to reist the pull of gravity. Density is part of the equation for determining the effect of gravity but density is not gravity.

Riley will probably bring up gravity and argue that Newton has been totally replaced by Einstein. If he does, just point out that you can derive Newton's gravitational equation from Einstein's field equations. He's also said "if Albert said that gravity was not a force ... gravity cannot cause ANYTHING", so expect him to bring that up.
He's already claimed that he's not talking about the relative density of two items (here, the lots of cheese), he's talking about the relative density of an item and the medium it's in (the egg and the water or, in this example, the cheese and the air). Of course, changing the density of the cheese (which he's admitted you did) also changes its relative density to the air, but he didn't think that one through. He was just grasping at straws. I suggest you screenshot both his admission you changed the density and his claim that it's about the density of the cheese and air before he deletes the comments.
