Tried sewing these again, stuck my fingers alot less and the flower was beautiful. Thank you Feona and you're not a professional, you're an EXPERT.... If I ever get the chance to meet you, I'm giving you the biggest hug...
Great idea using long needles for doing the gathering stitch. My hands don't work like they should so I'm stealing that idea. Have 4 1/2" needles ordered😊 TFS!
I love this simple but elegant ribbon flower...so easy to make and so appealing...I may be starting a craft class here at the Community Center at the apartment complex where I live (it will be a volunteer class), and I think this may be the first project on my agenda...I'm so glad I saw this tutorial...thanks for sharing...
Oooooo they are so cool and i have some wide ribbon so will have a go at making some in the gay rainbow colours for my Daughters wedding. TFS Will try and put picture up.
I am in love with that flower,i am going to give it a try cause i have several satin and silk ribbons, they are not as wide as yours,i think mine are about 2,5 " each.. and i got a bunch of lace, got needle and thred :) thank you so much
great tutorial! I was working on wire ribbon flowers this weekend. Guess I am on your creative wave length! hehe I hope to do a video soon. Thanks so much for sharing. I wouldn't have thought of the second sewing on the ribbon. hugs from linda in TX
The thing about this technique is that is you pull the threads tightly they cup the flower, if you loosen them, the flower lays flat so you get two types of flower! xx
Love this flower. Am defiantly going to make some of these when I get the flower bug again. Watching for the second time and love love it every time I see you do it. June
I have been hoping you would find time in your busy schedule to do this tutorial. I love this flower. I have the large needles and now all I need to do is get some wide satin ribbon since all I have is 5/8 of an inch. Fiona thank you so much for doing this.
Love these flowers and if I'm not mistaken it's the first time I see that you don't use black thread in a project. je je je lovely flowers, will be trying to make them.
Yes Donna, I generally use the black when doing a tut because its easier for the watcher to see what I'm doing, but these you can see clear me thinks lol lol. Love these flowers and you can make them in any sizes :) xx
I saw it clearly Fiona, just found it interesting and worth mentioning the change of color because I had never seen you use another color before. Your flowers are gorgeous, thank you for sharing.

2 days ago I saw one of your posts to form a 5 or 6 petal flower from a 60 cm piece of satin ribbon or material....basting it so that when you drew the stitches..a flower was formed & then you added a lacy center to each petal. I thought I saved it on my lists..but went back in and this one was saved instead, Since then I can not locate that other tutorial. Can you please send me a link or the name of the video? Thank you.....Adrienne Lyon....
Thank you for even considering to look for this...I have the idea...but my best way of learning is watching...........I have some 4" satin ribbon & silk thread, and long needle.............
