Look it was good in its day, but with so many people going Hemi or 481x, there comes a point where you have to think you brought a knife to a gun fight. The only thing that is keeping it competitive is amount of nitro he is using. There will come a day when it just goes bang.
It always amazes me on how clean that motor stays after all the passes y'all make its awesome.
Well the engine in the gray car is basically brand new they rebuilt that thing like every 20 passes I think Ryan say
It does look like they do heavy maintenance between every pass. Wiping it all down after every pass makes it much easier to keep clean.

Lots of carb cleaner. And these motors are just very very well sealed.
Carb cleaner, sometimes brake cleaner, basically everytime they get done touching it. Helps make sure grease, dirt,an oil,dont effect any engine parts. Helps see leaks easilyalso. So keeping it spotless is just regular maintenance at this level of racing.

Man I’m excited to see Shawn is buying that Hemi. I’m guessing that it’s for the OG and I really want to see him get back to winning again. He knows how to tune a ProCharger and I’m absolutely positive that Ryan will help him with some killer tunes. Ryan getting this new Hemi is really going to screw the competition because he was really hard to beat before and I’ll guarantee that he only gets faster and I’d love to see him and Shawn as the top two on the list and especially Shawn. Shawn and Phantom have worked really hard trying to get to the top again and they deserve to get there 💯

Came to mention similar... dude was holding the cylinder rod as well and I couldn't stop worrying the thing was going to fail. I knew it wouldn't happen else they wouldn't publish the vid but still. Guy needs to keep his hands clear of there when using the hoist.

I so love your shop. When my family raced we raced out of a "2" (more like 1 1/2) car garage. No room. No hoist. No cherry picker. Just putting in headers was misery. We did it anyway because we wanted to race.

Nobody can say that Ryan isn’t a team player. He is always helping others. What a class act. If you’re someone who doesn’t like or at a minimum at least respect him, there’s something wrong with you.

All these guys/gals on tv have the power to win. It comes down to tuning and driver. Ryan and his crew are great at all those things!
@@1MrE42 it's not even adding power. They can tune the torque management and traction control to get down the road. But they all can run low 4s if they tune and drive right.

I didn't build motors for 30 years I drag race about 25 years built motor for about 10 of them and what they got going on there is unfreaking believable I'm talking about I was racing in the 1980s and I cannot imagine how far technology has came

When I was drag racing in the 1980s that was one of the very first safety features you had to have your honor car if it would go faster than 7 seconds on the 8th mile they didn't care about a helmet as long as you had to drive safety loop and I also knew guys they took all the seats out of their cars to make them lighter and one guy actually drove with the lawn chair in the car as his seat I live in Louisville Kentucky and the racetrack was Ohio valley raceway and this was in 1980s

Ryan I've never built a racecar but I've worked in a race shop your idea of having three hoops is a good idea but just as a suggestion to the three hoops how about also incorporating a kevlar blanket to also reduce any further damage and as added protection.

Hey Ryan, What about putting a layer or two of Kevlar under the 3 hoops on the front end of the titanium driveshaft cover. It would be minimal weight but add that additional layer of protection you're looking for. Glad you're ok and developing new and better ways to protect drivers from freak accidents.

This was a fantastic video Guys, Ryan and team know Race Cars.
Perhaps Shawn is running the Pro Charger Hemi setup in both the OG and NPK car? It would make sense as they were speaking about sharing parts and trailers etc, it could of been a reference to Shawn having spares for both cars and a bit of misdirection from the Fireball crew. Shawn has changed his mind on lots of things, most recently it was when he cut holes in the bonnet of the NPK car.

Javi is probably one of the most knowledgeable crew chiefs on the show. You can tell that Ryan puts a lot of trust in him.
Don’t really see that knowledge or trust in any of the other teams. Most of the other drivers do most of the work themselves and use their crew chief to just hand them tools.
This is a well oiled team right here.
This is probably one of the most overlooked factors to this winning team. I'm glad you said it. Obviously Ryan knows his shit but it's nice to have a crew chief that really knows what he is doing.
