I use this much perfume daily. What I've been wearing. Discovery of Borntostandout and more.

    Thank you Kiki for reminding for all of us that we don’t all those perfumes in the world. Overconsumption goes crazy and spreads on all kind of stuff. Just need to stay on track and control unnecessary purchases.

    Hi Kiki! You can definately can buy a smaller size of Cacao Porcelana!! There is a perfume shop called Rafinad based in Europe and the people there do a wonderful job and they offer smaller sizes of the fragrances that they sell. I bought a 10ml of Cacao Porcelana myself a little while ago. I highly recomend checking them out!

    Hi! You absolutely have a point in that there is something happening that is sort of pushing perfume collecting which considering it’s such an expensive hobby to begin with can very easily become very unsound… And I notice that many influencers who have been into like makeup or skincare before are now also moving in perfume also into the mix which then seriously feeds into peoples fomo. Also new releases is being a lot more emphasised now I find compared to before… and that is really sad since a lot of the interesting things with perfume is partly in the idea of something being a bit eternal…

    A bit shamefull that I bought 7 bottles of perfume this month. 5 of them from niche brands and heavily discounted yet still very expensive for my budget. My only regrets though are Constantinople by Penhaligons and Grand Soir by MFK.
    Very masculine on my skin and extremely poor performance. Waste of money if nobody from my family wants them. And where I come from people absolutely do not buy second hand perfumes...

      Thanks for sharing! I found Grand Soir to be masculine on me as well. I really should always go through a decant before I go full bottle because after 5 ml I sometimes am already bored. I bought Naxos on impulse and then never wore it. It was too sweet. But some of these frags make a great first impression. It is tricky.

      I blind bought Grand Soir and when I first received it and for the first 3 months or so of wearing it I found it a bit masculine for my taste as well. However, I kept going back to it - wearing it about once every two weeks and it didn’t just grow in me, it became a favorite in my collection and one that I often find myself craving.
      I’ve never smelled Constantinople but I have and love Cairo from the same Trade Routes line, and on my skin the longevity is good.

    It’s really interesting to do the calculation of how much we actually use and how much we accumulate! I was shocked when I did that last year, I had enough for several lifetimes!! 😱

    • @thehonestperfumereviewer6336
      @thehonestperfumereviewer6336  Před rokem

      I actually did the calculation last night and my collection will last me about 8 years and that is really not that bad! I thought it would last me a life time. I have 2,8 litres of perfume.

    Self discipline is needed when good niche perfume is so expensive. Wear, experiment with layering and just enjoy what you already own. A new bottle of perfume makes a great group gift among my four adult children for holiday and birthday gifts. Buying sample sizes is also preferred for testing - no blind buying big bottles.

      I have adult children living at home (2 out of 3 are grown up) and they have access to my whole collection but just aren’t that interested. I would love us all to be able to discuss fragrances. That is why I need a channel😊. Need to find other needs to discuss my thoughts with.

    You asked "Why should I buy full bottles period?". I think it indeed may not make sense for you based on what I've perceived of your fragrance wearing habits. I think you are someone who doesn't mind wearing fragrances that are very similar to one another. You strike me as someone who enjoys wearing fragrances with minor differences from one another and so it may make sense for you to just have 30mls or samples of those. But I'm the kind of person who wants to pick my favorite out of two or three similar smelling perfumes and just wear that one. So for me I look at my collection (which is 8 bottles so far) as the best perfume at doing this thing. And I use samples to figure that out. And if I find a sample that is doing "that thing" better than my current perfume full bottle then I'd be willing to sell it. Also "that thing" is usually just scent profile. I don't really think about perfume in the context of occasion all that much.
