  • Today we took a train from Bangkok to Kanchanburi, home of the Death Railway, Bridge on the river Kwai and Erawan Falls. We had some local thai food at a local restaurant - including Fried Chicken and Chicken Cashew Nut, as well as some Thai Milk Tea, and went over our plans for the next few days in Kanchanaburi, Erawan National Park, and Sai Yok

Thanks for the intro to Kanchanburi. Looks like a lovely, quiet, local country town. Not sure if you planned it that way or not but the Death Railway and museum etc is timely with Anzac Day in Australia tomorrow.
Not being able to go travelling myself, I love watching your video's- makes me feel like I'm there. Thank you for sharing your adventures. So, well produced too.

Don’t miss the Anzac Day dawn service at Hellfire Pass. It was my first ever and very moving, which I think makes you proud to be an Australian. Also many Dutch diggers have been buried at that cemetery. Lest we forget.

Visited Kanchanaburi with my friend in 2015 January. The weather was really lovely at night around that time. The most memorable thing was that we walked almost an hour looking for a restaurant recommended by Agoda but turned out it was still closed for the new year holidays. We were starving and we just decided to eat at this street vendor where they sold grilled salted fish, sticky rice with somtum, etc. But that food was so good that we kept going back there every single night during our stay there!

This is a historical spot in Thailand, infamous for the Death Railway……where POWs and local people were forced to build this railway from Thailand to Burma (now Myanmar) my family was close to the late Uncle Ned Matson, an Australian Army POW, who was fortunate to survive this horrendous ordeal. Hats off to all the victims of the Death Railway!

If Thai people go to Kanchanaburi Thai people will choose to stay in a party house on a raft. or a room on the raft at Srinakarin Dam area which this dam is very large But if you want a beautiful view, turquoise water and surrounded by mountains like Khao Sok. You have to go to Thong Pha Phum District or Pilok in Kanchanaburi. You will be staying on a raft surrounded by nature. There is a small boat towing your home to explore the surrounding area. You might think that sleeping on a raft might be uncomfortable. but actually on that raft There are complete facilities for you. including internet, electricity, air conditioning, water heater You will be in the middle of a large lake. There are water activities for you to do. Both boating, swimming, sitting and sipping drinks, make BBQ And some accommodations will have a water park for you to play. Famous Activities in Kanchanaburi Most of them are water activities such as white water rafting. and many kinds of extreme activities. For Thai people if you are not staying on a raft That means you really can't reach Kanchanaburi.😁😁🙏🙏

4:45 I used to experiment with my friends to film “the spirits” in that veterans cemetery. No disrespect, just to prove either spirits exist. (We prayed to the veterans spirits before our experiment.)
So I chose the empty and darkest background on the graveyard. Made sure no telephone wires, house lights, street lights. It was right at 7 pm when I stood alone for my 2 friends took turn taking photos. (No iphone back then. It was decades ago.)
When the negative was developed….there were tons of “orbs” behind me. Like the glittering lights here and there from behind from both of my friends’ cameras.
My friends and I burnt the negative films right after. Never felt that scared before in our lives.
