This really helped! My laptop used to turn off every 5 minutes. Some people said to use a vacuum but I was too scared so I used this method and it worked! I have been using it for an hour and and nothing bad has happened so far

Trust me. Dismantling it and cleaning it properly is the right way. Vaccuming will only cause dust to spread everywhere in the laptop.

Try putting a fan by the vents of the laptop.. To force cool air into the laptop.. If your a tech .. All you need to do is replace the thermal paste between the processor and mother board.. After time the thermal paste hardens and doesn't make the proper contact with the motherboard..
dude my problem is way beyond that, after a good months of looking everyone that has this problem is just dumping their computer

Remember, it is not a given that overheating or performance is the issue at all. It might simply be a case of bad battery wiring.

I had two expensive HP Laptops just sitting dead because they (one right after the other) start randomly shutting off right after the warranty ran out. HP wanted me to send them to in after making a huge upfront payment.

If you vacuum the vents of a laptop, that may make the fan to spin and generate some electricity that can make some components to fail, first make sure that the fan power cable is unplugged. This is just my opinion but nevertheless be careful. nice video bw :)

This worked dude thanks a lot! For me the fan was moving then stopped. So I took a pin and put it in hole.. Left the laptop for few hours
Then titled the laptop whole upside down(this is important) and it worked!

u shouldn't really vacuum the cooling system of your laptop cuz u will create an electrical current which will fry your components...

I have "Acer Aspire 5733Z" It turns on loads up and then after 30 mins turns off. The time gets shorter and shorter to where it won't turn on. The hard drive is good (tested). Any ideas where to start or what to buy since all those little parts seem so inexpensive. Buy the little parts anyway in advance before attempt repair. Appreciate any help.
My laptop temperature goes to 90 C after watching a few CZcams videos.
Vacuuming like this, doesnt it loosen the parts?
I will take mine into the computer shop and have them remove the dust.
Until then I have to run CPU at 800 MHz and CZcams at 240 res.
Temp stays ~60 C

Hello, I have a HP stream cloudbook 11 which intermittently / randomly shuts off without warning. The longest it stays on for is around 5 mins, and shortest is a few seconds. However, there was a period when it stayed on long enough for windows 10 to install and seemed to work okay for a while. The laptop does not have a fan and it shuts down even when the laptop is cold. the laptop shuts down even when in bios. I have tried the following but the problem persists:
1. checked the heat sink and applied a fresh thermal pad
2. Disconnected keyboard, trackpad, screen, WiFi card, etc
Any idea where on the motherboard the fault could be? Thanks in advance
guys dont block off your cooling or heating fan its dangerous your laptop may explode so keep it working and if your laptop shuts down randomly you may need to change the battery

I took my PC in to have it serviced. There was lots of dust inside and the heatsink was hard, brittle. The tech guy cleaned it and put NEW heatsink! The "Acer Aspire 5733Z" still CONTINUES to turn off after a few minutes. If you plug anything into the usb, it turns of faster. What can it be? HELP?

When I turn on my computer after it's fully charged it turns off at 70% charging and then when I plug it in again the charge gets to 0 and again starts to charge !

My Dell Latitude E6340 only blows air out when u switch it on and eventually it will trip and the screen remains black but the dim lights of networking, battery and that one I don't know remains dimming. Tried many times but can't see any light on screen help

I have to connect my speaker into the laptop to discharge the battery while it is off. for some reason after, i plug the charger and it turn on. I have a vintage Gateway Solo 2550 from 2000 that has some pretty meager specs. (Pentium 600MHz and 544MB ram) It's running Windows 2000 and it will shut itself off after simply copying over files while listening to music or even while watching a DVD. It doesn't take much work to push this laptop too far. I had to replace the screen due to the system crashes occurring more frequently. What's scary is that before I replaced the screen the power fluctuations caused smoke to emit from the lower right hand corner of the screen along with melting plastic. I had to immediately shut down the laptop and cut the wires leading to the display screen before it toasted the motherboard. Since the screen was replaced, it still crashes, but maybe less frequently, and even after I replaced it's suspicious charger. I really hope your methods work for me so I can save this classic system. Do you have any extra tips for me? I was thinking about replacing the thermal paste on the heatsinks. Or maybe being crash-prone is just a common problem with this exact model, as if it's defective or something. I wonder if the similar models from the late 90's and early 2000's also suffer from a poor cooling design.
i know there could be a million diffrent things that could couse this bt recently i removed the cpu i have i7 and i put it back in then i turned it on and it turned of i took it out again then put it back in with out the fan and it worked and the cpu heated up but only for like 5 secopnds then i turned it of and the next day i turn it on and there is no display then i mess around a bit and then i get that problem were it turns on then off instanly but when it wasnt turning off the cpu was not heating up and there was no power to the usb or hdmi cable. please help me

I have a 6 year old Dell laptop. So far it has worked without any issues. I always paid attention to the physical and software cleaning, I did, I had it done. For the last 1 year, my laptop has been cutting power by itself and shutting down. I'm so tired now nothing works. The harddisk is solid, the pastes have been changed, the detailed cleaning has been done (the computer guy said he did it), the video card was checked and it is solid, there is no problem with the processor, there is no problem with the charger, my battery is about to die, it works at 25% efficiency, but when I remove the battery and run the computer like that, I also experience a shutdown, so the battery isn't the root cause of the problem either. Please help me I'm about to go crazy. I'm going to throw the laptop on the wall, I'm so tired now

Ardit Nimanaj I'd recommend running diagnostics.. This way you'll know what part needs to be replaced.. It can be as simple as swapping out a fan, to replacing the processor.. Let me know what you do

i used a small clip on fan and aimed it at my laptops vents, i put a lighter or something to lift the back of the laptop to increase airflow.......

Good idea to block some of the vents. I yesterday just sucked with vacuum cleaner. Helped little bit as only one black screen in one day vs 6 in the yesterday morning. Today will tape and vacuum suck more.

get a straw , tape it half of the opening of the straw like there is half taped and half opened straw and then get a bread and chew it and swallow it and then go to each vent and blow on them with the straw , get some bread every time you blow for each vent

I would not recommend this gentlemen's approach, the heat sink fan utilizes ball bearings, or etc., these are engineered to achieve a certain amount of rotations per minute (rpm) the vacuum will more than likely exceed these predetermined speeds, this in turn may result in mechanical failure. Great idea though, I like the concept of channeling airflow to create pressure where you want it.

My laptop does not have those holes in it and as a bonus i do not have a vacuum!
I say just put in your freeser for 30.minute and presto it works now just repeat the prosses until you buy or take your laptop to a technition to change your battery
