- Thanks to my cousin and uncle we were able to spread load after load after load of composted manure! In the future we hope to graze stockpiled forages on this same ground, but for now we have (I mean had) a few big piles of composted manure that we wanted to get on the ground. It's a step in the right direction I think, how much it will help ... that is what we will see.

I hope so! We’ll always have a little to spread each year with our deep bedded hoop house in the winter. But, that will just be used in spots. It was nice to get a bigger area covered first! Thanks for watching!
Great start, that was a great day in deed. We are covering pastures with chicken manure today. If you live close to a CAFO maybe cover it with that. Good luck buddy. Keep at it.
Thanks! My organic farming neighbors used to have semi loads of chicken litter brought in, and it worked well for them. Eventually the price got high enough that they went a different direction. We do not have any CAFO's close by ... which in the long run I think is for our benefit, but it would be nice to have access to that manure :)
