Nice review on this Thorn. I grabbed one 6 months ago and very happy with it. Only concern was the elongated lugs but thanks to their turn-down it’s not an issue. The AR crystal is really good; needed bronze in my collection; smooth functionality; hygrometer is cool; well done homage.
I love this, added it to my shopping list. I am sure it will make a great Tribution to my collection 😆

My Sinn has a moisture indicator window in the case. Turns from white to blue as internal moisture content increases. Not only does it serve as a water ingress indicator but also as a service reminder. The watch itself is filled with inert gas to slow lubricant oxidation and to extend the service interval to about 5 to 6 years.

Good call. I use argon gas on most rebuilds and services.
@stuartthornton3027 Sinn used to use Argon. Says AR on dial. At some point they switched to Nitrogen because it's cheaper.
Another great little watch, got to admit I love the 50 Fathoms. Thorn seem to be hitting home runs every time since their blue Pelagos homage you reviewed a few months ago.

The bronze case looks interesting and I like how the moisture indicator actually works. Sapphire crystal is also a nice upgrade. As you mentioned the text is another own goal - they could have wrtten 'classic diver' for example. At least there's a sterile dial version which some people may prefer

I have the shy033 but while there are elements i like better here (crown and sapphire) i like the overall aesthetic better on the 33.
Hrmm... I'm torn. I prefer stainless to the bronze but would definitely prefer sapphire. I like the simplicity and symmetry of this but I think I prefer the 3, 6, or and 12 indices. I don't love the hygrometer though I like the uniqueness of it as I don't have a watch with one. Having said that, WTF it "tribution"? Why do these companies keep putting misspelled, nonsensical and non-existent words on their watch dials?

Great looking watch. I reckon they tried to hommage the 50 fathoms script on the origonal as its in that font, but failed in translating something that makes sense (a common problem😂) shame but no deal breaker. Nice watch, be a perfect bronze watch for someone who likes to play about with patina or no patina as the simple case design lends itself well to polishing or patinationing. Thanks John.

I can forgive the Exploration Road text on my Tudor titanium homage but this just ruins a really good watch. the bronze looks fantastic and should patina well - even if that meaningless text in an terrible font is so small you can’t read it - you’ll always know it’s there. I’ll wait until they see sense and put the standard dial in a bronze case.
Great to see you releasing content given your more recent community updates, as many have stated before me you ain’t the first and (sadly) will not be the last to get targeted by these very brave fine upstanding examples of humanity, or to put it another way ABSOLUTE PLUMS AND EEJITS 😡!!!!

Haha. This year has been one thing after another and it has been draining to say the least. The final nail in the coffin was AliExpress deducting 10 percent of my earnings with no valid explanation yesterday. I had to punch myself in the face to see if I was actually in a nightmare. Things are supposed to happen in threes...not three sets of three back to back haha 😆
The hygrometer really breaks the dark shade. I personally don't like it. I liked the dark side test :) Thanks for the video!

A "tribution" free version can be had by ordering the "without logo" option. Looks cleaner to me that way.

Hi there and thanks for watching. I have seen it but it's not on my radar tbh. The 62mas has been done to death on the platform with the best exponent being the 37mm Seestern followed by the newer SM version in blue. At 42mm it's pretty big too.
I love military homages. Right now I’m eying the type I/II. The marathon or benrus models are just too much. I’d like to find one for the sale

Good looking watch, just not a fan of bronze watches. The long lugs don't work well on my 6.5" wrist either. I do like the Thorn brand though. Well finished watches at attractive prices.

The Bronze looks great. Nice classic look. I have the 33, I am not a fan of the crystal. Too thick maybe. This crystal looks the same. I know it’s mineral glass, maybe a better top hat single dome crystal would give it a quality lift. I still wear my 33, other people like it as well.
I am curious thought with these homages whether the water color changing insert even changes colors if wet 😂

A nice looking watch but I don't like the dome sapphire crystal. I feel it makes it look rather cheap.
