    How lovely! And what a deal, i definitely grab clearance plants, most just need to repotted or put in the ground. Extra TLC for those babies. It’s looking good so far, just wait for the Spring season.

    I just bought an Endless Summer hydrangea today for $1 from the clearance section at Lowe's. The plant looks pretty healthy except for a crispy bloom and a few dead leaves. I'm excited to see what I can do with it.
    I generally ignore the clearance section because I don't want to bring an insect problem home. However with this cold spell we've been having, I think the garden centers were really unprepared and alot of cold sensitive plants lose their foliage but that doesn't mean they're dead. I think this is the perfect time to get a bargain!

      Oh wow I never get that lucky are you going for a container or straight in the ground? $1😄

      @@GardenQueen I was planning on using it in a container but read they can't handle temperatures below 27 degrees, so I might put them in a flowerbed instead.

    I pass because even with normal looking plants I over do with too much water & soil I just realized I never fertilize them? That must be where I go wrong plus I tend to place too much soil where I actually suffocate them. But next time I will do better!

    Hi garden Queen! Question. I just bought some Endless Summer Hydrangeas in the pot that are already blooming. Is it possible to keep them in the pot and never transplant to the soil?

    • @GardenQueen
      @GardenQueen  Před 4 lety +2

      If the container is not like the thin plastic container but a planter you buy from the store... yes you absolutely can. In containers you gave to water them more often. Place in your garage or insulate it with leaves over the winter. Then upgrade to a bigger planter as it grows... it should be fine!!!!

    My bloomstruvk hydrangea was beautiful until I put it in the ground. Now it has white spots and appears to be dying. The leaves are turning brown and the blooms are as well! Please help me! What did I do wrong!!😢

    Beautiful! I have a question? I bought an endless summer hydrangea but it keeps wilting where I have it planted in my outside garden . I would say the area gets more sun than shade , it does spruce back up one the shade hits , but I’m wondering should I move it somewhere else that gets more shade ? Or should I just water it more because it’s getting more sun? Thanks !

    • @GardenQueen
      @GardenQueen  Před 4 lety +4

      If your leaves are crispy that's the plant telling you it needs a new home! I would recommend these plant get no more than 4-5 hours of sun. Dappled sun is really better for these plants!! Remember not to over water the plant because it likes to be moist but not have wet feet!!!!

    Hey there I have a bloomstruck hydrangea and it is planted on the north side of the house but does seem to get some western afternoon sun, it has done mostly well but does have a few crispy leaves. I set a patio chair in front of it to filter that light. Do you think it will be okay? Thanks!!!

    • @GardenQueen
      @GardenQueen  Před 4 lety +1

      They do need sun, but more so morning sun. Even though the chair is there to provide light the light issue will still be there. You have a few options. 1.. move the hydrangea. If you like where it is at then the next step is looking at filtering the light in some way. You can filter the light by adding a accent tree. I would add it in a container it will give it instant ht!! And is very appealing!! 3. Throw up a umbrella at mid day or use a shade cloth.. 4 Add a larger shrub that can take full sun and will give the smaller shrub the shade it need but angle it in a way the it will block the western sun.. You can also add a trellis grow a climbing rose which provide filtered sun and beauty... sorry for the book😉

      Garden Queen thanks so much for the ideas! It is close to the back patio so I will try to put something there and see if it gets better!! It did well this spring but with the hot temps just making it to South Dakota I think it got a bit shocked! Will see how it goes this next month. Thanks!!!

    • @GardenQueen
      @GardenQueen  Před 4 lety

      They need atleast about 4 hours to support the blooms preferably morning sun. You can also manipulate the light to get sun light through
