- The Salazar statue is the true final boss of anything Resident Evil 4 professional playthrough and I won't be persuaded otherwise. Thanks to the stream peeps for making this one fun: this is taken from our professional playthrough of the game.

I got killed 132 times by the Salazar statue (mainly second part on bridge).
First part you need to delay a little until square prompt appears on time them hammer it and anticipate pillars dropping left, right, then both as quick time prompts appear too late.
Second part on bridge was the really hard part, but finally figure out to place control pad on desk then furiously hammer square with right index finger until shoulder prompts appeared to jump (also anticipate them as so quick!)- might be cos I’m left handed and not enough power in thumb for that part!
Then once grabbed ledge was again fine with mashing square with thumb, it was just the bridge part where Leon wouldn’t run fast enough!
Hope this helps anyone reading to save them from the massive frustration I had - was on ps5. 😋👍
It's interesting hearing that I'm not the only one that really had a hard time with this. I'm glad you got through it in the end. It's always my biggest problem in a Professional playthrough because I don't have very fast hand reaction times.
@@SilverGaming01 thought I’d put my comment on as well to hopefully save the souls of others lol.
Thank you I did a small delay after the prompt for second running sequnce and finally made it after around ten unsuccessful attempts. I just discovered the speed up glitch and thought it make this easier but nope you have to hammer square like your trying to break your controller.
Thank you Brother!!!!
@@maximotroise1118 no worries mate, I got in seriously bad trouble for my language during this part so if I can help others! 😂😂
For real. My fingers almost fell of..
It's not easy!
🤨
@@SilverGaming01 It's one of Capcom's SCREW YOU PLAYERS moment.
Listen to Leon cry like a baby when he dies LOL
Lol i thought it was just me 😂😂😂
This is what stopped me from finishing the game on professional...for real
The worst thing is, if you beat pro it gives you the PRL and it sucks because the gun isn’t in the remake as far as I know
Bro i happened to do it on the 6th try and i honestly don't know how i did it. I feel like i passed out mid button mashing and went into a hypnosic state where i was button mashing like my life was on the line. I don't think i'll ever be able to do it again.
Bro same!!
You never ever did it on 6th time stop lying
@@vitalijmartynenko1097 git gud you noob
@@vitalijmartynenko1097 I did the Salazar Statue on the switch in like 10 tries. I thought I was gonna die, *FOR REAL!* But I did it.
Apparently, it's fucking ludicrously difficult on newer systems, as the difficulty is upped by a bug capcom refuses to fix.
As someone who just started Professional and just passed this section playing using my laptop, I passed it with 3 deaths on the bridge part and it is indeed the hardest QTE in the game as this is the only part I failed the QTE.
I already finished pro run on GameCube and PS3. I can confirm that you run as the speed of sound.

I would love to see more action with Salazar's statue in the remake!!
I do wonder if they'll bring it back.
It probably won't be back in its original form. the new game is trying to be a lot more serious. But I heard a cool idea for what it might be replaced by. imagine if the Salazar statue was actually just a statue. Like just some hollow stone and rebar. but a giant plaga come by and jumps inside of it like they do with the suits of armor. I think that would be pretty awesome.
I'm on 4-1 in pro mode & I'm getting ready for the MANY, MANY, MANY Death's of that QTE.
Lol dude. Im gonna have to do a pro run on this now, never tried before. 😃
I promise it will be an experience unless you have the reflexes of a ninja!
Extremely relatable
Ain't no way bro took 1hr+ this moment😂
He really is the final boss. I succeeded with 5 attempts 🥵🥵
More power to you!
at this point I'm afraid to break my keyboard
A majority of my deaths were caused by button mashing QTEs
Mine too on Professional difficulty.
My friend used a massage thing to press the button quickly and we still struggled to get past th second part😭(we finally did it though)
My finger is racing
I did this on my first try in pro
Try it on nintendo switch
It's impossible on switch
to be honest i actually found the salazar qte in professional one of the easier ones, the ones that really got me on switch were the boulders pushed by the ganados closer to the beginning of the game.. god what id do to never have to deal with those qte events on switch again
I'm at the statue right now, it's a pain & Capcom really needs to patch this ASAP!
@@roggie839Switch ur buttons around. It was impossible for Mme until I did that
The trick is, to hold the controller with 1 hand and press with the index finger of the other hand, that helped me.
Thanks man
im on my first time on pro level and im stuck there, cant seem to get passed it
The only way is to mash the button.
me too im locked her
Here`s a tip: Keep hitting the square button in a hammer. Trust me, it works (jk)
15 Years ago i struggled with this part, now l cannot complete it at all.Can anyone tell if the remake requires button mashing please.
Newer systems have a bug that makes this section harder. It's easier on the PC, n u can probably just mod the QTEs out.
Honestly I hated the boulder chases and Salazar Statue.
Please RE4 Remake just make these a Hold Down on the Left Stick and Press The Crouch/Evade Button at the Times they appear (Kinda like what RE6 and RE2R did).
Wait so is the QTE for the Salazar statue glitched or something or all of the QTEs are hard on professional? Am I missing something
The QTE's in Professional are just stupidly difficult. You have to hammer the button like crazy to get Leon moving in the statue segment. Some folks are even saying it's harder on the Switch version.
The QTEs are more difficult in Professional AND the game is Glitched. When the HD port was bumped up from 30 to 60 fps, a strange bug made it so that every QTE got TWICE as hard. So you needed to mash the buttons twice as hard and react twice as fast to the imputs.
@@battles_varied_animator shit, and to think I played it on 360, Xbox One, the wii, and GameCube, I have yet to play it on PC. The steam version one day. Thanks for the heads up I guess.
I played pro RE4 on all console available (it is my favorite game ever), the hardest one is the switch, the smashing is a real smasher!
I've heard some crazy stories of how hard the Professional QTE's are on the Switch Version.
@@SilverGaming01 it's really just the stupid fucking statue QTE. i die like a dozen times EVERY GOD DAMN TIME. I had to watch videos on this to know I wasn't alone hahahaha
I'm at this part of the game on switch. This is actually so horseshit lmao
I never found any of these sections hard when i first played through professional, I always assumed they’re the exact same QTE’s from normal. But seeing on how so many others had struggled on this really made me think.
More power to you! Wish I was as good at mashing buttons.
playing on higher frame rates makes it harder than it should be. if you played on 60 fps maybe you’re just built different
It ain't a flex but it was easy
Hi
Hey Xan!
I was honestly surprised at how EASY this was for me on Professional. It only took two attempts, with the first one being thwarted because I forgot about the locked door at the end and couldn't break it open in time.
Now, in regards to the FIRST boulder chase, THAT one took me fucking forever, especially on my original Pro save file (I saved over it with a new one after I reached 1-2 and then decided to complete Separate Ways to unlock Ashley's knight costume so I could start a new save file with it on). It didn't take as many attempts on the 2nd/current file, but it was still a massive pain.
It's good hearing somebody else got past the statue with little issue. I had the reverse situation. The boulder chase wasn't too hard for me.
@@SilverGaming01 Ahh man, I tell you what: that boulder, the 2nd El Gigante fight with Ashley and ESPECIALLY Krauser's QTE fight can go fuck themselves. I've done the first two on Pro and am currently at the Killdozer part (haven't had a chance to play it in weeks due to studying), but I'm absolutely dreading that awful segment. That was easily the most frustrating and poorly designed part in the entire game, along with the beginning of Chapter 4 in "Assignment Ada".
Also, I still have no idea how you're supposed to kill the 2nd El Gigante using only the boulders on the scaffolding in Pro. Not only is it ridiculously hard to be able to actually land the massive rock on his head, but even IF you do manage it with BOTH of them, he STILL has tonnes of health left. Thankfully, I just let him continuously try and fail to squish Ashley whilst I peppered him with TMP and shotgun bullets. That knight armour REALLY pays off. Even those monks controlling the giant drill in the narrow hallway can't manage to kill her; the drill just pushes her out of the hallway, lol.
