Please raise your hand if you are also a "hot mess" knitter! me first! âđ I have had lots of trouble with interchangeables coming untwisted as I knit but my Chiaogoos are the only ones I haven't had a problem with, UNLESS I only tighten them with my hands rather than using the tools.
Phew, glad it's not just me that is a hot mess! đ
I also had issues when I begun using Chiaogoo , often times one would slack, but since I make sure to used the pin and the rubber heart I no longer have an issue. You could also use 2 pins and scroll them opposite side
How awesome you live in Amsterdam! I was born in the Netherlands and now live in Canada! Great projects, thanks for sharingâŠgoing to watch some of your other videos now đ.
Thanks for watching!
Love Chaiagoo needles. I never have a problem w them
Wow, first to comment đ Thank you for the detailed explanation of your projects! I often question every step when picking projects- patterns, yarns, gauge, modificationsâŠ. SO MANY OPTIONS đ”âđ« Your time spent sharing the ânitty grittyâ of the process is much appreciated. And the effort is clearly worth it because your projects are beautiful. Much love from Hilton Head South Carolin.
Thanks so much for saying this! I try to include as much detail as I can so hopefully it helps someone else
For the Chiagoo needles, they're my favorite! You just have to remember to use the key they come with to tighten the interchangeable needles every time you change them out.
Thatâs the thing, I am tightening them but the mini ones always come undone on me. Donât have same issue with the small sizes.
Wrap a rubber band loosely around the needle so you are holding the needle securely with a rubbery grip as you twist with the key. It gives you the grip you need to tighten it properly. Iâm currently using one of those elastic bands that you get around a bundle of asparagus x
I have never ever had a problem, tightening down my Chus and it coming loose so my thinking is is calling tiger company and see if they will either give you a new set or see what theyâll do because becoming unloose if you tighten it down with the needle
it's so funny... you said you obviously wouldn't wear your hat with that top as I was thinking that would go really lovely together! đ

I'm making the size medium gallant mohair also using isager highland wool held double (lace weight) and 5mm needles. I just ordered my 7th ball of yarn which brings my total yardage to 2100ish so half of that if I were holding it single would be 1050 and I know I'm only going to need a little of that 7th ball. I just need to lengthen the body another 2 inches I think. I'm going to wet block it first to see how much it might grow but for now I wanted to be safe with the extra yarn in the same dye lot.
Your Cami no.9 looks great! I have had mine on the needles since last summer. It went into hibernation when the temps dropped. I have done all finishing steps and just need a bit more length in the body. Seeing yours is motivating me to pick it back up. Mine is a vibrant grass green in 100% cashmere from colourmart. Can't wait to wear it with my white linen pants!
The colour of your woolfolk yarn is amazing! Looking forward to seeing the restart in your next episode. I like all your projects and colours really!
Thanks Ursula! Good luck finishing your cami no9. It will be worth it đ€đ€
Yes! I also experience the Chaiogoo issue! It has happened with 2 different sizes of the red small twist lace needles. Size 2 and 2.5
Glad Iâm not the only one!
I am struggling with this as well, using a 2.75 mm needle
So to add to the Chiagoo conversation the needle does come apart for me. I did purchase the red heart rubber tool to help tighten with the key but it doesnât work for me. What dit work 100% of the time is a thick rubber band mine came with broccoli but donât know if thatâs a North American thing so try that. Hopefully works better for you.
Youâre the second person to mention the veggie bands! Will need to give that a try
I made the Blouse No. 2 and I ended up having to go back and frog some of the sleeves because they ended up too long. I am short so the pattern may just be too long for me, but the sleeves definitely stretch!
This is exactly what happened to me! Which is a relief because I ran out of yarn for 2nd sleeve if I knit to same length as first. So I had just enough to do 18 repeats and need to frog 2 repeats from second sleeve.
Hello
you live in Amsterdam, I am curious to know if you ever visit Stephen and Penelope and Stephen west ? When I visited Amsterdam I had not started knitting again but I wish I could go now
I go once every few months. Iâm not a huge fan of hand dyed yarn which is majority of what they have so I tend to just order online for most of my yarn
â@@Goodknits_ that's so interesting that there isn't a good option near you for commercial yarns. I thought there would be so many more options over there!
Love the colour of and the look of the no 9 camisole đ. I also has that one om my list. I like that you are so transparent about the cost of each project. Have you tried to change the needle on to the other end of the cable. I had have some issues with them untwisting and as weird as i sound it worked to change place of the tips. On my needles is the fairy maiden socks (so cute spring and summer socks), a top in lace the natura top. Playing a serious game of yarn chicken hoping for the best... because the top is looking so good. I also have a sweater with less than one arm left in halv fisherman's rib. I'm exited to see the dress and thinking of do it myself. But I'm not sure in what yarn and if I can afford to bye that quantity now.
Good tip for the needles, Iâll give that a try next time it happens! Good luck with your game of yarn chicken đ€đ»
Iâve had the same issue with my Chiagoo needles too, Iâve heard that putting a bit of thread lock on them fixes this issue but I havenât tried it yet.
Will look into this. Thanks for the tip!
That green on the camisole no 9 in gorgeous. The color suites you so well! Im wondering what size you knit it up in? Looking to start on it and I'm not sure I should do small or medium.
Thank you! I did a size small but realized I accidentally knit it on 3.25mm so it was somewhere between the small and medium. I am super happy with fit but wish I had made it a tiny bit longer in the body
Ah I see, I think I might just knit both sizes for 2 different fits đ a win win lol thank you i appreciate it!
