Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this CZcams channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

There are different things that the employees are spraying in your room. In the beginning of your journey they sprayed mosquito repellent because India is a tropical country so we have a lot of mosquitos. Sometimes they spray mosquito repellent twice or thrice. Later on they sprayed room freshner in your cabin. To make you feel comfortable. Nice video BTW.

Yes. Indeed. Why so long.. they have improved from what they were in 90s. I guess when the Air travel became much cheaper after entry of budget airlines, railways HAD to change and improve drastically to stay relevant. Some amount of outsourcing of work like Cleaning and upkeep services has also helped in improving accountability and quality. Now they are competing with budget airlines. Even though the experience of these guys in first class has been a good one. This is by no means the best train in india currently. Yes, Duranto are good trains and they have only AC compartment s and also very less haults so they end up being on time more times than not.

There are different types of trains in India..Indian railways cater you with several options in different budgets.
For 1.low fares ....shuttles ( basically for commuters, labourers and working class) not suitable for foreigners...
    2. Passenger trains...low cost short to long distance ..
    3. Express trains or mail trains average cost with multiple facilities normally long distances .
    4. Business class trains affordable trains with good facilities.like shatabadi, swarm shatabadi,Rajdhani.
5.premium trains withbetter facilities like tejas
    6. Luxury trains like .....maharaja express, palace on wheels , Deccan odyssey etc.
Plus we do have some narrow gauge trains like toy trains and motor cars in hilly areas..

First I’ll beginning by saying that I hope you have a Safe & Peace-filled Journey every time you travel in India. I’m not an apologist for any situation in this Beautiful country of ours or a rep for the Indian railways. In fact I’m a doctoral professor & do my best to inform visitors on how to travel in India.
The Duronto is a Premium class of Train Travel in India just like The Rajdhani & The Shatapdi Train Services. The use of any AC 1st class, AC 2 tier or AC 3 tier is better than the regular reserved class or unreserved class on any train. These days all the trains use the IRCTC service to cater food according to the taste preferences of its passengers.
Unlike the older trains that ply in the remote areas the WC’s {water closets / washrooms/ toilets} on board the Indian railways are in a state of progression to the BIO toilets ensuring hygiene on all counts.
Indians don’t understand the concept of bugs like the west, except bed bugs as all other insects are identified & called by their technical names {mosquitoes moths etc…} this is unlike a generic composition of all insects as bugs in the west.
Cleanliness & hygiene is a priority on all trains these days and they do their best to ensue the same.
The use of the air freshener at regular intervals is to mask the aroma of the meals after service or that of the stale air in the cabins.
    Hope that's useful

Glad that you guys enjoyed the Duronto train rides, it is one the best premium trains in India, when traveling in India try and select superfast or express trains with minimum stops like Rajdhani Express, Duronto Express. these trains offer the best experience and mainly are on time since India is a country with such a large and diverse income group, there are different trains that cater to these groups, next time please take recommendations while selecting the trains. Enjoy your stay at Mumbai and do visit Elephanta Caves for history there and Hill Road Bandra for flee markets

I would love to travel on train in India. Seems like such an adventure. I was a child in China and remember the trains very well. Overnighters, private bunkers, and always tons of people trying to sell you food at the different stops. The times have changed though, China trains are high speed now and people don't sell things at the different stations as they used t. Seeing you guys travel on train in India makes me reminisce about my childhood. Will continue to watch for your next video!
