  • Overview of the Instant Pot Aura Pro 8-Quart Multicooker. OOPS at @4:44 on the ROAST function! I mistakenly said it goes to Keep Warm after. It doesn't! The included guide was not clear on that function, and I've since tested it out to find out! :)
    This is one of several different multicookers that we own. I don't use affiliate links, but you can find this cooker at Sur La Table, Amazon and Kohl's.

    There is also a smaller 6-quart Aura cooker (very similar but without Sous-Vide, and a ceramic coating instead of stainless steel interior) at Target.

      That's exciting news! As a tip, keep in mind the Aura cooks hot on Bake if you cook anything directly in the cooking pan. Check it sooner than you think and keep an eye on it! Also, you might want to take a look at this Facebook group: facebook.com/groups/158881004874969/ (it's for the Gem and Aura cookers). I'm working up the nerve to make recipe videos. Hi - thank you so much! I used to make them by steaming them on the included rack. It's nice because with the large pots you can make a good amount in one go. Probably around 25 minutes once water is at a full boil, but I can't say for sure. I removed them from the rack using silicone tongs and put them into cold ice water after for at least 10 mins. For the Sous Vide function, how do you know when the unit has reached the desired temperature? Does it beep? That's the most important part and the pamphlet the unit came with also did not cover this information. If you know the answer, please reply. Thank you!

      Hi - one reason I don't have this cooker any longer is that on the occasion when we do have a giant meat (like the spiral ham, turkey, etc.), I always end up cooking those in my gigantic 8-quart basic slow cooker! I was never comfortable to add the uncertain timing of these multicookers to a special occasion day or meal :)

    • @atomiccactuskitchen2558
      @atomiccactuskitchen2558  Před 3 lety

      Hi - if it's sauce only, the Saute 250 might be less harsh? Either way, the standard boiling point is 212 so that is something to keep in mind. I did use Saute a lot when I had it, and I really did wish there was a way to get the temp UNDER 250. Especially when the pan isn't very full.

      Hi - I no longer have these multicookers, although we used them extensively while we still had them. We did use Bake, both cooking food directly in the bottom of the pan, and also some baked goods on the rack (in a smaller baking tin). If you cook directly in the cooker pan, it cooks really fast (must keep an eye on it). When you bake in a separate pan on the rack, it seems to take a good bit more time. Thank you for watching :)

    I've been doing macaroni dishes in this unit that are using the high function in the slow cook mode. The recipe I had told me to cook for 45 minutes and then stir and then another 45 mins. If I have to open the lid, am I in trouble with the unit? I've been doing it all wrong! I have another recipe for Crack Chicken I want to do. Can I follow that recipe or is there something I need to do to adapt it? Is it better to cook in the Aura Pro rather than a regular Crock Pot?

      Atomic Cactus Kitchen thank you very much! I noticed that when I do the 45min intervals I should not be cancelling the program at all! I need to open the lid and stir and continue on, not cancel . I was doing 1 hr on the device and then canceling because the recipe said 45mins then stir then 45mins. That’s why my meal at the end wasn’t hot enough although fully cooked. From now on , I would set for 2hrs and stir after 45 mins . I made Crack Chicken in the Crock Pot Smart Pot 38601 model today which is known to get very hot . The chicken was fully cooked and liquid was boiling after 2 1/2 hours or (less) . I was told not to cook on warm but looking for tips on that one! The Crack Chicken came out great .

      Thank you for your comments!! :) I'm happy to say this Aura Pro cooker never had a smell like some of the crockpots and slow cookers had a burn-off stench on first use! We also wish you could program a temp change, that would be so nice. Let me add that the slow cooker on this is unique - for the first few hours the temp is very low (on both Low and High)!! It will seem like it's not cooking, then after around 2.5-3 hours it kicks up to a higher cooking temp. It is important to know this in advance - also you can't just switch between Low and High. This will re-start the entire program and the temp will go back down for those 2.5 hours! I might make a video to try and show this somehow. Anyway, this is really a true slow cooker function and not boiling the food away like most of today's slow cookers. :)

    I just got the 11 function pot. It is sheer and utter trash. Save the money. It doesn't pressure cook, air fry and burns EVERYTHING!!! The slow cooker does not even slow cook well. The food is burned at the bottom and uncooked after six (6) hours of cook time. I pan seared the meat beforehand and still had disappointing results. The vegetables were not even cooked through. It has a beautiful appearance. As they say, looks are quite deceptive. Again, extremely disappointing.
