It's hard to remember how it was to begin with. It never bothers me sleeping now and only kept me up a little at the start because it was a new sound. I don't even notice it now when I go to sleep.
I have a 27/29 On-X with the ascending prosthesis. I think it's the standard ring. The clicking is just background now. Different people have different levels of the ticking. Mine seems to project fairly loud while a friend of mine with the same valve is almost silent. Good luck to you. You'll be on the other side and recovering before you know it.
Probably about a month. It never really bothered me, but after the first month I found myself not listening for it as much. I still focus in on it sometimes, but I think that's just the mental aspect of it. It still doesn't bother me though.
It's wild how you can hear the ticking from your valve in the video. I recognize the sound because my mom had the same operation.
I'm a loud ticker for sure. I love it personally, it's a soothing sound. I'm happy that it reminds you of your mom.
Hey Jeff - do you find it difficult to sleep sometimes with the valve clicking at night? I don't thing I would do well with that. Take Care!!

@@bicuspidaorticvalvereplacement thank you so much! How long did it take for you to get used to it and ignore it?
