I love the interviewer. He is genuinely interested in listening. And Rahman is as cool as he is always :)
Good interview.
Better interview of him than in an indian setup! The anchor has researched very well!
One of the best interviews happened with ARR so far and the things being discussed were making lot of sense too.
Right from the start of the interview, arr has tears swelling up...it happens to him whenever he thinks about his distant past.. especially father, financial situation etc. He tries to calm himself by touching his temples and he does it in so many interviews. He has had a heavy heart and choking throat all through his young ages with many complexes and great personal loss...
You can easily tell, A.R was depressed in his early time, He lost his dad when he was 5 later on, he converted into a muslim.. that's a difficult decision to make, ofc he was a religious person and believed in sufism. You can feel that in his music.
In the interview, any glimpse of his early ages makes him cry. #respect
OMG. The song Tom played is soooooo good!!! AR is literally a music genius!
One of the best interviews ever .. I have seen a lot of ar rahman's interviews but there are very few where he actually opens up .. kudos to the interviewer for such a brilliant piece of conversation
He is not only a musician. He is deep into philosophy.
The gentleness softspoken charm what not!! That's AR..:)
India's pride of a musical genius and Oscar winner that the whole world recognises A.R.Rahman.
simply one of the best interview taken by anyone of AR.R. congratulations to your team and anchor.
Give him a Classical piece or a Folk piece or even a completely western piece.
He ends up giving magic which replenishes your mind and soul 😘😘
AR 😍😍
I have been watching a lot of ARR interviews but must admit this is one of the best! The interviewer was genuinely interested and very humble..God bless you ARR!
Rehman is a musical gift of this universe. God bless you Maestro
"..what was there ,was there...it was reachable...I wanted to do something else". pretty much sums up what makes him ARR. the one and only.
Blessed to live in his era :)
Rehman sir has a clean musical record ..... his music is mesmerizing
omg I love him. I love bollywood and his music omg he's awesome great interview
nvm nvm listen to his Tamil songs!! Even more beautiful.. he experiments a lot in Tamil only
We love this! We agree with A.R.Rahman sir that this is the right time to motivate artists and bring out the beauty from the past rather than dwelling on the current issues. 😍
My most favorite musician... very humble person on earth...
He is a Legend of Legends one inspiring guy may god bless him.
AR is different from other music composers. A unique interview which other interviewer learn from.. good questions and yeah there were few hiccups .. but on the whole a unique and a wonderful interview..
Music is a universal language. Each region has its own style. Rahman mastered or trying to master every style and provide happiness to the world. No one (every corner of the world) can deny he is a great musician. Mocking he is doing only 5 scores a year is ridiculous. The depth he shows in his music worth the time he takes.
7:36 - can anybody be more modest than AR god ? Such a humble reaction to tell about receiving multiple doctorates 😊
Simple soul with a genius mind!
Musical Dynamite AR Rahman!
Luv u my music god🙏🙏 u inspired me to learn music arr !! And my life became better because I started learning music.. u are my inspiration for ever and ever!!! Love u so much sir 😘
Preethi 93 He is a human being not God. Have some respect for your Creator.
knightmire I have all respect to my creator and i never told that there is no god or rahman is the only God... I have a very deep connection with ar sir's music.. from the age of 2 for no particular reason I have been listening only to his music and oly because I wanted to sing ar rahman's songs I started learning music and music makes my life peaceful I could feel it.. If I choose to worship his music I think it's my own business and not anyone else's.. I never preached to anyone here! have a good day
it is the one of the best interviews of A,R. Rahman . . i love it . good job guys
One of the best interviews ever of ARR. Could you play the 13th Chord ?
Very good interview and there are lot of learnings from his interview
Both are honest.
Honest questions
Honest interviewer
Honest and interesting replies from #ARR
Humble ,Simple ,Modest = ARR
Well researched and impactful interview. Thanks for doing this.!
What an incredible interactive talk. Truly fresh and innovative like playing a song while the composer sits . Genuine questions from him, soulfulness in answers, congrats and thanks from the bottom of the 💓 heart. This is one of the best interview bros
Amazing, perfect interview. I love it. Thank you very much.
Love him so much!!!
Thank you for hosting ARR.... #Peace
Music maestro...legend ar ..a god gift to India n indian people...live long..
Inspiring as always
That was a good interview , but i wish it could have been a hour long..
hitting 40 is young in the west, it is equivalent to 25 in India. So people at the age of 40 years are more often referred as young there. They start their marriage life at this age in most cases. And AR Rahman looks 35 not at all 50!
He is vere level , arr fan forever ❤️❤️
I love to sing your lovely songs with great music. My best wishes to AR Rahmanji.
Thank You God
#Grateful
#Blessed

The best interview with arr.. so apt questions..
Very honest interview. i really liked it.
Chinna Chinna Aasai lyrics written by great poet Shri Vairamuthu sir , sang by Minmini mam who tragically lost her for unknown reasons . ARR is now days like religion of music for fans n musicians wannabes !
She got her voice back and even ArR given her one more chance in kannathil muthamittal .. he is really kind heart.
very informative thank you arr
The interviewer is very good looking and romantic.... He seems enjoying and interested talking to a r Rahman....
very inspirational
the best a r rahman interview
what's the 13th chord? was that the M.I.A soundtrack he played in the video??
last few min was inspiring!
ELLA PUGAZHUM IRAIVANUKKE.... THANKS FOR INTERVIEWING HIM.
What is that 13th Chord, The interview just finished abruptly without playing it .. so sad :(
Give him Bharat Ratna
I love a.r.rahman, but why were they talking like they just had a joint?
Very talented singer, Minmini who sang his first song, ´Chinna Chinna aasai´ lost her voice!
could anyone explain what they are talking from 22.50 sec?
Tom was asking what his favourite chord is - to which he replied, the 13th. "A full 13th chord is made up of seven notes. That is a major triad plus a seventh, ninth, eleventh and the 13th. Since this is impossible to play on a six-string guitar, the fifth and the third are often left out (and sometimes even the root). E.g. C13 consists of the notes C, E, G, Bb, D, F and A."
Nice job both of em!!!!!
While appreciating his honesty to have accepted that winning Oscar was sheer luck because that year's cine music generally was depressing, his view about other great composers before his time were churning out more music out of compulsion without giving importance to quality is not in good taste. After all Indian cine music be it Bollywood kolywood or any other wood was like that. MDs particularly IR was into a pressing situation to wean Tamil audience away from boliwood and help the industry itself to revive by producing more movies. With this onerous task on him IR had taken it on himself not to compromise on quality and on that platform only ARR had built his empire. May be he knew that to show more quality and difference in sounding he has to first go north and with that launching pad to global music. But IR somehow found his roots here and stayed put. This ARR himself is aware of.
i see your views are your perspective and ARR didn't necessarily mean IR ... there are so many other composers at that time whom ARR also worked as a factory like setting... and more so ARR has in every interview when mentioned about IR is only in high regards ... you may or have to know that :-)
who was the other hollywood composer apart from John williams he said he listen to??
Dint quite get his name!!
9:46 to 10:03 Difference between other musicians of india and A R God !!
Rahman sir is getting old :) Gracefully ageing... his eyes have started showing his age... not his music though :)

This man celebrated as a very soft, cultured and very talented man has allowed such praises, egoism and enchomiums go into his head by denying other yester year and contempirary musicians their rightful place. And also he never speaks about Indian music leave alone his native music. Slowly his colours have started showing off.
You guys had to do that Click Bait"y" title to bring people in to listen, is it?? Good show by the way.. Thumbs down for the title..
stupid click bait title.
