V Rising is an 2024 action role-playing survival game developed by Stunlock Studios and published by Level Infinite. It was first released in early access for Windows in May 2022 before officially releasing two years later, with a PlayStation 5 version under development.

This'll be the last VArena video. Not really enjoying the PvP and don't wanna spend too much time getting better at something I don't enjoy. More of a 3rd person gamer than an isometric gamer at the end of the day. Longbow is very fun and is actually the main reason I tried this game out in the first place but you can't really "main" a weapon in this game or you're gonna be at a severe disadvantage. Gotta learn and synergize with 8 weapons and combos and thats a bit too much for a survival game that I'm only playing until a new MMO comes out. Even tho I'm winning these fights, I'm not really enjoying it. And ofc theres many fights I lose against vets and the way they play does not look that appealing to me. If they release the Modern Camera mod for this game, I'll definitely jump back in and try to get a cool PvP showcase of it tho. Ik it won't be ideal for PvP but I feel like I'd enjoy it for like an hour or two and it would be entertaining lol. Otherwise I'll see you guys in the next game: TL/Ashes/Chrono/Dune/NW?/Once Human/etc
TLDR: I don't enjoy losing and I don't enjoy the way I have to play to win

@@KuelloD i left NW with a very good taste in my mouth. That 2nd place tournament was the most fun I've had in the game for awhile and was peak NW combat. I've seen many videos and clips of how horrible the state of combat is right now and I don't think I'll return unless they revert it or fix all those bugs, regardless of whatever content they release in June+. So the likelihood of me returning is low but not impossible. At the end of day, it's one of my favorite games and the origin of this channel so I'll return if the game is enjoyable and good
i get it it is not everyone's cup of tea but still sad to see you go. u made insane progress as a beginner and if I saw you fighting in arena i wouldnt guess you started on 1.0 but if you ultimately dont enjoy it then nothing you can do T.T
@@japa1k672 The combat is really good but I'm just not a MOBA gamer. I've even passed on big MMO releases like Lost Ark cuz of the same reasons. Just my preference I guess at this point. The WASD controls are the only breath of familiarity to other games I've played but even with that I still feel like I'm fighting the controls while I PvP more than the actual player I'm fighting lol
There is a modern camera mod on thunderstore, the server has to support it I think tho, what game is next?
So basically Bloodline Champions or Battlerite? Miss those games.

What jewelry are you wearing on the electric curtain?
movement speed and spell shield. it's the default jewelry when you join V Arena
Throw a reaper on your bar for merc charge. You can merc charge > reaper e > spear Q and it’s a true combo
I see yourarely if ever use the pistols. When/why would you use them?

3:35 when we use thoses movement spell we are VISIBLE in pvp ???
not sure what you mean by "visible". like ? he dodged the arrow at 3:35 by just sidestrafing it. the pistol skill he used after is an i believe during the dodge animation as well

Same reason for me to not enjoy pvp. They should capped number of usable weapons to like 4/5. I had the most fun in the game at launch when everyone didnt have any idea about weapon swapping and how to pvp in this game in general.
Mythic gets a shoutout but not me :'(

I've always disliked the ability to use 8 weapons at once. I would much prefer 2 to 3 slots. But honestly, the meta has always been the same. Spear combo.
yeah the 8 weapon thing kinda just turns the game into a fighting game rather than an rpg. if its to the point where you need to study a spreadsheet on all the possible weapon combos then its a bit much haha. having it all bound to Q and E is just a headache tbh. that's 1 keybind doing 8 different abilities each. i could see it being really cool if you could just put weapon abilities on your hotbar
there really isnt a 8 weapon meta 99% of the time on the like, 5 populated pvp servers. Too much repair costs for people to just be carrying that much shit and durability goes down way to fast in pvp

All fair points about why you don't enjoy the game.
However, your arguments about the game being lower skill ceiling than NW in your previous videos kinda went out the window.
The players you fought in this video were obviously not good. There are absolute demons in V Arena that feel like they are reading your mind.
No, there is no 8 weapon meta for the simple reason that cooldowns are shared between weapons. You generally pick the 3-5 that you like and play around those, which is very managable, even for unskilled players like myself. Every time you think you lost because you don't swap between all weapons, it's not really that - one of the weapons you chose has an option for the situation, you just didn't think of it or wasted CDs spamming something else.
After spending some time in Arena even low skill players like myself can tell these were low skill fights, 2nd day of playing the game kind of stuff.
The game is not for everyone just like Battlerite isn't - the skill ceiling is WAY too high and at times it's, for me at least, even exhausting to play. I don't blame the game for any of it though, it's a skill issue on my part and I also don't have the patience or capacity to get extremely good at it, so I understand you.
I honestly think the hardest part of the game and the reason it would be considered high skill ceiling is due to the bad controls. otherwise it's really just a 16 skill game which isn't that more complicated than the average mmo. I don't really think it's that challenging to learn when to use which one of 16 skills in different situations if you play this game long enough. the challenging part is switching to it fast enough. it's why I said it feels like I'm fighting the game more than actual people. 90% of the skill cap is based on the clunky controls. you're limited not by your reflexes, strategy, and aim, but by mechanical muscle memory on top of a lack of combo knowledge which there are entire spreadsheets on. it's just too much work for a game that only has an active pvp population for 1 month every 1-2 years when it gets an expansion.
I still believe new world required more raw skill because it didnt have dumb things that raised it to a higher skill cap like V Rising does. If they made it so you had to press 3 keys to use 1 ability in NW, would the game require more "skill"? yes. but it would be very dumb and not enjoyable. I probably wouldn't have played it
But at the end of the day I can't really prove that. There's no one out there rn that was a top player in New World and is currently a top player in V Rising. It's all just based on opinion and personal experience. I was known for being one of the best players in the entire game in NW to the point that I would 10-0 other top players and even built an entire CZcams fanbase from it so obv I'm gonna be a bit biased towards NW. the same way you're describing how the top players in this game feel like they're reading your mind is exactly what people said when they fought me in NW and didn't manage to hit me once. it's not much different tbh
My only real defense to my NW vs Vrising opinion is that my friend Breyl was a top new world player and i would say he's a top V Rising player if you've ever seen him in Arena. In V Rising he absolutely farms me in a 1v1 but in New World I farmed him in a 1v1 and 1v2. Both games just require 2 different things
@@DeityVengy I'm sorry but all of what you described can be broken down to skill issue. If you honestly think that aspects like developing reflexes and muscle memory, setting up proper controls and having correct decision making ability, are things that are annoying and shouldn't be part of a competitive game, I put into question how much of a competitive player you actually are, and by extension, how good NW's PvP actually is, which I admit I've not played extensively and this is the first time I hear anyone say it's the best thing ever.
I again, I completely I understand not having the capacity to get good at this game, it really is too high of a ceiling and this is not for everyone. What I don't understand is the attempt to downplay it.
@@Bl2EAKIN I'm not saying this game doesn't require skill. it has a very high skill ceiling but my point is that it's highly overexaggerated beyond it's actual skill ceiling due to its stupid controls. And then there's no justification to continue playing a game with such bad controls and work through it to become competitive because this game has zero competitiveness due to its extremely low pvp population outside of expansion time.
I just hate when people defend very poorly designed games by saying it has a high skill ceiling when that skill ceiling is solely due to the game being poorly designed. you can question my competitiveness all you want but I can atleast justify my comparisons to other games with my large portfolio of games I've been competitive in, won tournaments in, and posted on yt
battlerite had the exact same issue. it was a niche game that no one really knew about but people regard it as some sort of hidden gem when in reality it was a pretty poorly designed pvp game compared to it's alternatives

@@Bl2EAKIN yes because like I said, that's the main issue and the biggest barrier to entry. there's dozens of other issues but yes it all comes down to "controls are bad" and "game is too dead to invest time into".
You can customize the controls all you want but nothing can change the fact that you have to press 2 buttons to use 1 skill and the 2nd button is always the same 2 buttons on your keyboard (Q and E in this case). It's very unintuitive and clunky and it's wild how this issue has been solved in other games for decades and it still isnt solved here lol
