Stunning setting for a dig! Awesome finds. Golden Shred is Robertson's Marmalade. You had to collect stamps from jars of jam and marmalade then you could send them off and you'd get a golly in return. I collected a few in the 80's :-) Still have mine some where!
Your find for golden shred would have been on a marmalade jar collectors item there looks like you had a great time and so many you tube celebs one day I’ll be there 👍 shaune in Kent nice one Dan
Great hunt, Dan 👍 I'm putting my PC reputation on the line, here, but I think it's okay to refer to the Golden Shred badge as a 'Golly' at the moment(?) 😰😉
I got a Golly badge who was playing hockey as the first hole banger on my new... wait for it... Roman road field recently. It's offof the 50s, if I remember correctly 😁
There were literally dozens of different ones to collect.
My first hammered was a Richard short cross

Golden shred marmalade and yes we drew up with those jams and the little freebies like the badges. Great find. Still social history despite anyones racial views

Some fantastic finds there once again. Just some background info on the enamel badge. Won't call it what it is don't want your channel taken down. Anyway they were part of an advertising drive by Robertsons golden shred marmalade. You collected ten paper images, one supplied with every jar of marmalade sent them off to Robertsons and in return they sent you an enamelled badge. Not many people did that so that's a fairly rare find. Looking forward to your next dig.
