      In Greek : εις λάκκον, means: in pit.
      and I take it from the psalms.
      Also, it sounds similar to: εις Λάκων
      which means: a Lakon=an habitant
      of laconie (laconic),
      also called a Spartan.

  • @christophebonhoefferofbelg9846

    Try to imagine the whole process from start to finish of what it took to get us to this point. Somebody , many centuries ago conceived & created the Harp. It then must have taken years to work out the harmony of the strings in order to make it sound so wonderful . We then learned to write & read music, which was phenomenal. After all of this, we needed an inspired composer such as Debussy to produce this masterpiece. Finally, we have a beautiful player who has practiced for years to bring this incredibly emotional & heavenly sound to our ears. Incredible..💚

    • @Julia_Coelho_Music
      @Julia_Coelho_Music Před 4 lety +7

      Why see it as a "progress-process" to culminate in something beautiful? There is nothing wrong with Medieval and Renaissance harps, they are beautiful per se - sound wise included - and not merely "a step into something greater". It's not about being better or worse.... It's simply different.

    • @christophebonhoefferofbelg9846
      @christophebonhoefferofbelg9846 Před 4 lety +20

      xJCOELHOx ...I see it as a “progress process” because it’s a matter of fact. No musical instrument ever created could play by itself. People had to learn & get better ( progress). Music needed to be written & then played by the musicians (process). At no point did I say there was anything wrong with Medieval & Renaissance harps. I speak in general about how everything comes together to create this lovely piece.

      Chapter XXXI - Agency of Evil Spirits
      The connection of the visible with the invisible world, the ministration of angels of God, and the agency of evil spirits, are plainly revealed in the Scriptures, and inseparably interwoven with human history. There is a growing tendency to disbelief in the existence of evil spirits, while the holy angels that “minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation,” [Hebrews 1:14.] are regarded by many as the spirits of the dead. But the Scriptures not only teach the existence of angels, both good and evil, but present unquestionable proof that these are not the disembodied spirits of dead men. {GC88 511.1}. . . Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
      9:6 Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any [thing] that is done under the sun.
      9:7 Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works.

    The two arabasques are written mainly in a diatonic way, and their rather linear writing makes their transcription to the harp easy. This interpretation is so nice that the two arabesques seem to have been directly written for the harp. A very nice moment of music with these charming youth compositions of Debussy.

      @@dvntpxnic. You are so welcome! What is that saying, "don't let the buggers get you down". It seems my life too has had many a dark time. What kept me going, and still does, apart from the fact that I am reeeeally stubborn, is that all of life has a reason and purpose. I tell myself something good will come out of this, whether it's understanding of myself or that my experience will help someone else when I come out the other side. Nothing we ever do in our lives is a waste, not one thing. If our experiences nearly destroy us, what we learn from it will surely save someone else's life, purely because we came through and helping someone through similar is what it is about. Using our experience may take years but it is never a waste. I will tell you something, if we were not strong enough, we wouldn't have had that experience. And how we come out the other side may seem obvious to us but not to others, so this life is a school in an unstructured kind of a way. Knowledge cannot always be read from a book. I really hope this helps you, because believe me, someday the rewards you will receive will be awesome. Just know that a kind word or action, doesn't have to be a big thing, maybe just a smile, will light up someone else's world. I understand that the first thought is why me? Instead say, ok, bring it on, I will find a way through. Whatever is happening to you it may be your job to succeed so that you can pass on that knowledge to someone who may not have your mindset, not be as strong as you. Just think then whenever that occurs in your life, day, weeks or even years later, how great you will feel that you had that experience and have saved another's life. Love and Light to you.

      Matthew 11.28 is an invitation of cosmic proportion- overcome the wall of doubt and disbelief that others are busy constructing and join the resistance

    Hmmm.. I wouldn't mind having this being played at my funeral. Not a time to mourn but a celebration of the highs and lows my life..

    Merveilleux instrument de musique, délicatesse du son, grâce dans l'exécution, un pur régal pour les oreilles et le cœur. Belle interprétation 🙏🎶💓🎶

      @@joshmiller7489 Don't stress it, bud - I think different people have different thresholds for what makes them cry (I cry just thinking about crying, it's ridiculous) - I don't think it means you're not feeling things as much, just that your crying point is further down the feelings line than it is in some other people.
