Nice video Mike. Let me ask you a question. I have an area in the driveway next to a brick sidewalk that has within the last year collected water when it rain and pools up there. I've noticed over the past 3 months the ground is sinking in there. because of the way my property was graded which is towards the house I think a dry well might be what I need. Other videos show a 40-50 gallon catch basin with stone around it. But you are showing just to use fabric and crushed stone then cover up the stone with more fabric? Is that the way you suggest doing dry wells? I live in NJ . Thanks
Where does the overflow go? Please don't tell me you dig it deep enough so it doesn't overflow. You never know when you'll have a hurricane type storm, neighbor builds an addition or deck, etc. Dry wells take pressure off the town's storm water management, but eventually need to send water there.
I'll but-in here. When I install these I purchase 55 gallon plastic barrels from U Line. Drill 1" holes all around them and on the bottom. Then line the hole with a good drainage fabric including the bottom of the hole, put around 6" of 2"-3" rock on the bottom, put the barrels in, then finish with the rock. This will give a lot of void underground for water collection. Sure it will overflow sometimes. The water will just gently roll out 360 degrees all around.
Very helpful thank you
Great video
Nice job bud
