    The puzzle piece edges are actually dovetails.
    Nice build BTW 👍🏼

      Woah! How did that not register with me before?! I watch a ton of woodworking shows and am very familiar with dovetails. DUH! And here I am calling them puzzle piece edges. My dumb feeling of the week.

    Hi there, what was the height of your top-half part? (truncated cone)

    • @BlackSheepProps
      @BlackSheepProps  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi! The top height on my helmet is approximately 5.5" high. But if you need the template already converted into a truncated cone I have attached the link to our store. Templates from all the videos are there in case you would like one.

      Hi Octavio!
      Here is the link to the store where you can get a template for the helmet :www.etsy.com/shop/blacksheepprops
      You can use the template and watch the videos to show you every tip you will need. You will have to buy contact cement.
      Thank you!

    Battle damage does not look like that, most of the time is just a gentle skratch.

    So, any measuring tips?

    • @BlackSheepProps
      @BlackSheepProps  Před 5 lety

      Yep, the most important measurement is the distance around your head. Measure around your head at your nose and that will give you the length for the bottom half of your helmet. That same measurement will also give you the length for the top half of your helmet. The top half is tapered ( which is called a truncated cone in geometry ) Then you can go to any online calculator for truncated cones ( templatemaker.nl )so you can get a PDF pattern for the tapered top half of your helmet. All the rest of the pieces you can just measure once you assemble the top and bottom half of your helmet.
      Awesome! Have fun dude!

    Does yoga foam mat work?

    • @BlackSheepProps
      @BlackSheepProps  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Octavio!
      I have never used yoga mats? I guess if they are made from EVA foam they should be OK?
      Not sure what they are made of? Sorry I can’t be more help.

    i was re-watching this and what can you use instead of a heating gun?

    • @BlackSheepProps
      @BlackSheepProps  Před 5 lety

      Hi, I’m not sure. I only use a heat gun. Some people try using a blowdryer but it isn’t hot enough. And some people like to use a propane torch. Since you are only bending the top and bottom half of the helmet you should be able to bend it and glue it without heat curving it. When you wait for the contact cement to dry it should stick no problem even if you could not bend it with a heat gun. Hope that helps.
