If you listen to his podcast he says his fathers friends took him under there wing and would tell him stories all the time about his dad to keep the memory of him alive
how ironic and sad that Robin Williams also winded taking his own life,I remember back in 1977 how shocked and also sad a lot of fans were when first hearing about Freddy Prinze death!
Carlos Cruz I met Freddie Prince Jr. and his wife at the wrap party for Crazy Ones in 2013. I remember shortly afterward Robin Williams committed suicide. Tragic then and still makes me sad. But I had never thought about the connection between Prinze Sr. and Williams in that way... Wow.
To be fair, it was found that Freddie Prinze was over-medicated and that his suicide was medically induced, and there was a malpractice suit against the his doctors for it.
He never got to see his son grow up or got to experience being a grandfather. That’s gotta hurt sometimes for Freddie Jr. He’d be turning 70 this year too (2024). He should still be here
Being the product of a relationship that ended in suicide (no I'm not saying it was his mom's fault but it was their divorce that was a key trigger, amongst many others including the fact that depression is not really about triggers to begin with) has to bear something on you more than the average person. Yes he does look a bit older than 40 but he still looks good and healthy...
It’s called aging naturally. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Johnny, but he’s a working, high-profile actor who has to maintain his image. He has had his share of botox, fillers, and such over the years to look young. Freddie stepped way back for a long while, and it’s clear he doesn’t care for that life as much.
@Christine Mills that's becauss his dad was half white and his mom was white so he's not gonna have some Hispanic features plus sometimes kids look more like their mom which he does
Omg how can he say all these things happened when Freddie prinze junior was only 11 months old wow. Talking about making up stories maybe his mom related all these stories to her son
As someone who lost a parent early in life- sometimes you just want to know more about them. We never got a chance to talk to them, so we ask other people. It’s wonderful to hear these stories. And if he had it framed, my guess is that he grew up seeing that in his house every day, and well... wouldn’t you ask why a bloody towel was hanging on the wall? Lol
Its called talking to Muhammad Ali and interviewing and speaking to a number of people who knew his father. Unlike most kids who ignore family stories he holds on to them dearly because that is all he has of his father.
Wow all that hate comments, look at madonna, she is 58 and she looks sexy. Dont get me wrong, I love him, but his ex wife Sarah.M.G looks better than him.
''Prinze's father, Freddie Prinze Sr., was a popular television actor who appeared as a mechanic on the hit series Chico and the Man. Prinze's parents divorced when he was still an infant, and in 1977, his father committed suicide while under the influence of prescription drugs. Prinze Sr. was only 22 years ... It's sad the Freddie Prinze never got to know his son. He would be proud to see that he turned out to be a good human being.
Freddie Prinze Jr. has met all the greats because of his Dad.
Wasn't he only 1 year old when his father passed how does he remember that. Awesome 👍🏼
Not even one, he was 10 months old...
His mom and his dad friends would tell stories about him while growing up
He didn't say he remembers that. I guess he was recounting that story that either his mom or his dad's friends told him.
If you listen to his podcast he says his fathers friends took him under there wing and would tell him stories all the time about his dad to keep the memory of him alive
Of course he's not going to remember that people told him

I was just watching Freddie Prinze standup & now listening to junior, they almost have the exact same voice 🥲
You guys in the comments aren't the smartest. He's obviously narrating stories he had heard about his dad.
His father was only 22 years old when he passed away 💔
He never got to see his son grow up or got to experience being a grandfather. That’s gotta hurt sometimes for Freddie Jr. He’d be turning 70 this year too (2024). He should still be here

He was so talented that by the age of 20 Freddie Prinze Sr had everything a man could dream about
Awwwe he sounds like him!
How can people think he's not good looking? Are you mad!
@Christine Mills I think him and his dad are both cute!
I think he's better looking than his dad, plus he's tall 😍
He's OK now but he was better when he was younger
@@addicted367 one is not better looking than the other. His father had a very Latino look despite being only half-puerto rican.
@@quinncalle8591 yeah it's called having an opinion and I stand by my original comment.
Freddie looking much older than 40, specially after just watching Johnny Depp on Oprah when he was 42
He looks 40 to me.
@@cc3184 same. I didn't look that good at 40.... or 20

For the longest time I left Freddy Prince Jr was white because he was always playing why characters of movies
Kinda confused. Freddie jr was just 10 months old when his dad died. Are these stories he heard about his dad and Ali?
Freddie looking older than 40 here
@Sharon Jensen right young people now ain't making it out they 20s
@@todayyesterday cdfup lol/everyone don't age the same hes in his 40s now 44 now that's life
Some of y’all need to lay off the filters on instagram. This is what natural aging looks like for some people.
🤣🤣🤣
His mom must have told him these story's because he was born in March 1976...
@@NiclasLoof on me it's sad too cause at first nobody knew what to say because of how his father died

He is the splitting image of his mother minus the blonde hair.
He has his dads eyes
his dad died before he was even 1 year old ...... what does he know?

No, Jr. Is the splitting image of his mother. Put a blonde wig on him and take some inches from his height you have her.

Not his ex, they are still happily married. They recently did a great interview together...

he probably grew up hearing stories about his dad from his family
Perhaps his mother told him and other family members use your brain stupid
How can anyone not figure it out?
@Sharon Jensen I agree. 😓
People pass on stories of course. I'm sure lots of people who knew his father want to tell him everything they know.
Looks like trash
You don't have to say mean stuff.
