I am learning praise and worship songs in Hebrew so I have learned some pronunciation for several weeks now. Hebrew is a beautiful language, and my journey has just begun.

    I am an English speaking American. In middle school they made us take three language classes. First I took German then I took French and then spanish. I ended up liking German so much I took it for 3 years in high school. Today I have lost 95% of what I learned back then. I will be 44 in about a week and a half they say your first second language is the easiest but I can tell you from experience I did not make very good grades in German class. I retained absolutely nothing from French and the only Spanish I know now is what I have learned working in diverse culture groups as an adult. I am just 2 weeks into my journey of learning Hebrew the first attempt that I made was trying to learn how to speak Hebrew through one of the language apps. I learned very quickly and I literally mean within a couple minutes of being on that app that I was going to have to know how to read Hebrew if I wanted to learn how to speak it. So I found a video here on CZcams listing out in teaching the alef bet. I made flashcards and have been using them multiple times a day. I am already beginning to feel pretty confident with recognition and sound. I am actually very surprised and amazed at how easy of a language it is to learn compared to english. I can remember struggling in first grade with phonics because none of it made any sense to me. I literally had to be taken out of the Class by a teacher aide and tutored. What I realize now is phonics is more of a memory issue than an actual language issue. None of the rules make any sense. I really have a lot of empathy for people who English is their second language. At any rate I just wanted to spill a little of my story and say thank you for your tips and tricks I think I am hooked on your channel now LOL everything you have said has been extra information that I am not getting from the channel where I learned the letters. I'm hoping your workbooks aren't too much cuz I am just a poor girl from the country. If anyone has any suggestions or feedback on free learning material I would be most gracious. Also I have been praying that God will give me this knowledge. Learning the language I mean not wear material may be obtained LOL. Psalm 2:6 says that the lord giveth wisdom out of his mouth come knowledge and understanding

    READ THIS IF YOU KNOW HEBREW!🔊🥺
    Can someone please explain to me why this happens in Hebrew writing:
    In the letter "Tesh" (which is the hebrew name for 9) When it's written in Hebrew, it begins with 'tav' and ends with 'ayin'. I want to know whg tav and ayin? Because we can use 'tet' and at the end 'alef' instead of 'ayin'.
    Is there like a hebrew rule for this?? PLEASE DO TELL ME IF YOU KNOW😭

    • @HebrewbyInbal
      @HebrewbyInbal  Před 27 dny

      The word is תשע /'te-sha/. It is not a letter. It is the word for 9. I teach it in my Hebrew 3 textbook :) grab your copy, it will clarify so much: hebrewbyinbal.com/order

    I often see Vet used as Bet. Is this because Hewbew never had a B sound only a V sound and down the line they added the dot for people to use the B sound???
    Two examples are
    בראשית
    אביגיל
    Also on my keyboard how would I add the dot to a Vet?
