Love your work! I moved to Patterson brass about 3 years ago as lapua was hard to source in Australia.
I won't use anything but Patterson ever again.
The boxes are also great for loaded cartridges.
I have to say, I'm a little jealous of your trimmer.
Big fan of your content and how you present it.
    Cheers.

Finding a “my perfect load” has been so much easier after investing in the 21st century expander mandrel die and expander mandrels. Consistency in neck tension really brings down the es and sd numbers. Peterson has been my brass of choice after I couldn’t find any brass other than Peterson for my .300 weatherby. After my first box, almost every caliber I shoot, I choose Peterson brass. Adg is another great brass manufacturer. Their 300 wsm brass is top notch!

Now we know where all the Peterson 6.5 PRC casings went ;) I love the Peterson brass except mine required flash hole clean up, otherwise very pleased with the brass so far after five reloads. I just bought some SIG brass for my 30-06 Springfield, flash holes were good. Anyways, I decided to skip the trimming, deburring and chamfering on the initial fire forming since I'm not worried about trying to get groups on the first firing. I'm after figuring out the powder levels for the different possible volume in the SIG brass compared to my previous Hornady brass. I figured I'd neck size, trim, debur and chamfer after the first firing. Plus, have ever tried graphite for the neck lube when using the expander? What do you think about my new case process, is it better to trim before the first firing or after?

Nice video! I had been teetering on the Henderson set-up, and your video may have put me in go mode. I also price and shop out all the tools/parts/bits I need in advance of a rifle purchase and the preparation helps off-set the waiting. Nothing worse than buying a rifle in a new cartridge then finding out the ammo and all the bits to reload are unobtainable.

Hi Piet, ek het onlangs begin herlaai. My doppe is almal once or twice fired.

I had bought an expander die and turning mandrel for .002” under in one caliber only from another mfr (21st) Dumb question, but this APW set of mandrels does the same thing? These say they size the inside of the case neck on the downstroke, I thought the one I have sizes on the upstroke. Is there a fundamental difference in that functionality? Sorry, managing to confuse myself with something simple. This APW set is very nice, and a great value. I usually dry lube the necks instead of using imperial, but will take your recommendation. Thanks for any info! 👍

To my fellow saffas even tho you can buy cases and bullets and primers and powder, if you are not in possession of the licence card for that specific caliber it is a offence and you are risking a criminal charge ,so if you decide to load before you have the card keep that info to yourself.

What's the difference then, if the brass from blue box case mouth is a bit dent, if you do open them. I usually dont mind that, the first time shot's from new cases, are not that accurate as the shot's after that first round. I do use expander when do reload the cases.

I don't with new brass with the thinking we haven't stretched the brass.
I have also had the same question to myself, annealing could be beneficial for case life? as I do size new brass.
I anneal every time from first fire to last....but not pre.
      I don't think it's necessary..but,
      Love to ask Piet.

@@brett5990 you can anneal new brass as well. As long as you have an AMP that is it. I’ve ditched flame annealing this last year when I picked up an AMP. Go watch Gavin Toobe’s (ultimate reloaded) video about annealing new lapua brass and seeing the benefits of it for bullet seating consistency and neck grip. However, I don’t anneal brand new brass as it’s already done, I just prep it shoot it then anneal before resizing each time after.
