I just had this playing while I spent ages scouring every inch of my apartment for an important file I needed. At least it made me smile while I gradually lost my sanity.
It's sad how most of it was a huge conspiracy and then it all came crashing down on Cole. I liked the game though. I would've been content without the entire conspiracy aspect towards the end. Felt like the entire city and the powers that be in it were out to get him, poor guy. And the cheating, that was dumb. A big by the book guy like Cole would've never done it. --But made for a good story I guess.
Yeah, when I played it a while back, with the murder department, at least, it kinda felt like my investigation of each individual case didn't matter bc of how that department ended with all the cases reaching the same conclusion. I did love how towards the end of the traffic division the game reacted to how I completely failed in my investigation and as a result we just couldn't figure out who was responsible for this car theft ring and the guy in charge of the division yelled at me like crazy.
It does suck that two out of four major desks were just centered around a conspiracy, so early on through the case you know you're arresting the wrong guys and it doesn't matter. While one could argue that does hammer the noir message of it, it still makes for a less rewarding gameplay since you already know you're not doing anything worthwhile but the game just pretends you do.
Truly, it’s what pays homage to Noire as a genre. It is sad. So many stories tell the happy ending, but that’s what makes noire so appealing; the humanity; the real world truth that, more often then not we get less happy endings. The good die young. And that story is not about a perfect protagonist, but instead a flawed, normal schmoe we all see ourselves in and feel relative of. This is the whole half of what makes it such an enticing and addictive game. Watch some Noire Film if you ever want some similar feel. There’s a lot of good ones!
I'm in physical therapy work and there are patients that either need wounds or sores cleaned, have leaky feed buttons or tubes, or have GI accidents. Thinking of this song actually helps me deal with the smells.

If does, hope it would be either NY Noire, Chicago Noire, or LV Noire.
No, Rockstar Games PUBLISHED this game. Team Bondi developed it.

The next Crime phelps needs to investigate is why Rockstar didn't take this game mechanic/series further. It was so good!
It was developed by Team Bondi only in part by Rockstar
I heard Team Bondi closed. Their next game was going to be set in Shanghai in the 30’s, but they canceled it due to public backlash
this theme fits with the environment when doing an urban exploration 10/10
Im still waiting for NY Noire
Maybe a MIA Noire set in the late 70s or early 80s too
If there is, I hope they introduce a real character like they did with Mickey Cohen. Maybe one of the Five Families
