A masterclass in breath control…The greatest vocalist of the 20th century…Ella Fitzgerald thought she was the best…Billie Holiday was in awe of her too…not just a great voice, but a very great musician also, with a vocal range from baritone to soprano….she’s a goddess. 😍😍😍
One of the greatest singers ever.
My favourite singer. Thank you.
She is one of the top female jazz singers
Misty, wonderfull❤
Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holliday are the three greatest Jazz singers that ever stepped up on stage.
there was only Ella Fitzgerald who could hold a tea cup to her.
I love Sarah Vaughn. She's amazing. Broken hearted melody is one of my favourites. Please check out Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald. Two amazing women.
Sarah may well be the greatest singer of the 20th century, in her area of music--it's pretty staggering to listen to the decades of recordings she left, and realizing that she had very few peers...maybe Ella Fitzgerald, and Cleo Laine from the UK, but that's about it❤❤
♪We love all the music♪ 🦊 🖖❤
Try Anita O'DAY.
Compared to Sarah? Fuhgeddaboudit.
You may not know much about jazz, but you had great taste (or great luck?) starting out with Sarah Vaughn. She's been gone a long time now, but fortunately we have a huge body of recorded music through which we can appreciate her incredible talent and skill. Here's a playlist to get you going: czcams.com/play/PL_zzie7MY-4zSf5BnA8y7HfvJy40MFnrn.html
You are probably more interested in big band, or American songbook singers instead of jazz. In jazz its instruments first, vocals second. From what you said I think you would love vocals first, instruments second. If you want a list of vocal artists from back in the day, I can give you a TON of good ones, as well as some rock vocalists that love the standards.
I'm glad you want to get into jazz but you have NO idea what you're listening to. It's embarrassing! You know it's good but 90% of it went right over your head.
Hahaha trust me, I’m not embarrassed in the slightest. It’s all about the journey and learning new shit, and I’ll admit all day long everything I don’t know 😂
