I came all the way from Texas to experience some amazing sites in Paterson that everyone should go see. 1. Samuel Colt Gun Mill built in 1836, go early, sneak through fences to see some amazing history and cool modern art on the old ruins. 2. Hinchliffe Stadium home of the New York Black Yankees, go early, get past the fence however you can. It's very sad this place isn't restored and open to the public. 3. The natural wonders of Passaic Falls. I didn't see anything bad. Just folks minding their own damn business, living their life. I enjoyed it alot.

I like to look at houses for sale in different parts of the state when I'm bored, just to see what kind of houses(and what condition) are on the market. To my surprise, I found a rather decent looking home for a great price in Paterson and was wondering what the deal was. Look through all the images and everything looked great. Of course it became clear when I did a google map search, jumped into street view, and got to enjoy a stop-motion unfolding of a drug dealer likely selling drugs considering it looked like he gave the guy something with a sort of careful glance, then a cop car rolling up next to him, and everybody around him walking away while the cops grabbed him. Each frame unfolded as I moved up the street the house was on. I wonder what else the Google Streetview camera picked up while photographing Paterson.

Drove through there this summer, and went to an event at a pretty nice banquet hall there. But the actual city was horrible, looked dirty, dangerous, and poverty stricken. It was sad to see.

Never got rob, never got jumped, just some occasional fights at middle school but damn I feel so at home. My mom and me move to Arizona when. I am a born and raised Compton, CA kid and I always said Paterson reminds me of Compton. The drugs, drug raids in my building, prostitution, crack heads, mice if the gangs were more prevalent it would be just like home. Ten months, 22 days, I paid whatever needed to paid and let them keep that deposit. I just couldn’t see paying $1500/mo for a “gentrified building” and had to deal with that. 🤷🏾♀️
Paterson and Compton look nothing alike. Paterson is actually much worse. Definitely looks worse. The vibes are completely different. Compton is pretty quiet these days. Compton is just more famous.

In general it's pretty bad, I moved 9 times, 8 times around Paterson and there's been a shootout on every block, drug busts, gang violence, police brutality, kidnappings, robbery, shootings, it's pretty bad. A lot of abandoned places for criminals to hide and take people to.

Newark has more of a big city feel to it. They both have very crowded and run down hoods, and they both were two of the scariest looking places in the country before they were partially gentrified. Paterson and Newark are alike in some ways and different in others. New Jersey as a state has the worst looking hoods overall I think.
When I say overall I mean on average NJ probably has the most cities and towns that rank as some of the worst looking ghetto places. That doesn't mean that everywhere in NJ looks worse than everywhere else. Philly and Baltimore look the worse to me as far as number 1 and number 2. I mean ghetto by definition. Crowded filthy, poor, trash and graffiti everywhere etc. Not abandoned, or the most homeless.
What i dont like of USA streets is how dirty they look (at least in the hoods). What's wrong with People, why they Have to throw all their garbage to the streets? Are they educated in the schools? Paterson looks live. How do you compare Paterson to Newark or any other city in Jersey?
Newark has more of a big city feel to it. They both have very crowded and run down hoods, and they both were two of the scariest looking places in the country before they were partially gentrified. Paterson and Newark are alike in some ways and different in others. New Jersey as a state has the worst looking hoods overall I think.
When I say overall I mean on average NJ probably has the most cities and towns that rank as some of the worst looking ghetto places. That doesn't mean that everywhere in NJ looks worse than everywhere else. Philly and Baltimore look the worse to me as far as number 1 and number 2. I mean ghetto by definition. Crowded filthy, poor, trash and graffiti everywhere etc. Not abandoned, or the most homeless.

What i dont like of USA streets is how dirty they look (at least in the hoods). What's wrong with People, why they Have to throw all their garbage to the streets? Are they educated in the schools? Is there "any kind" of public cleaning service working to clean the streets or not? I dont honestly understand it
Most of them are lazy and living off public assistance. That’s why they are standing around with nothing to do. People in the inner city’s have very little pride in upkeep of their houses or cleaning up the litter and trash.
