  • Day 1 of my Journey to learn all of Paganini's Moto Perpetuo. It will be an arduous adventure and I apologize to any violinists in advance. In this episode I start the series off by drawing one of the most difficult challenges from the "Cup of Despair." Is my double tongue enough of a match for the opening two lines of this brutal spiccato exercise?

So, my original intention for this series was to post a video everyday of me working through the piece. I did the first day and then began editing. On day 2, I edited for the entire day and then at like 8:30p.m. I recorded day 2. Then I spent the next week continuing to edit day 1. So, unfortunately without a team of editors to help me, there isn’t any way for me to daily upload without spending a year editing the series ahead of time. Which brings me to this question. Would you want to see this series uploaded intermittently in between projects as I work through the piece? Or would you want to see it as a daily upload series, but as short form content? (Reels, YouTub Shorts, etc.?) Or none of the above and you really don’t care if this series gets continued. (You won’t hurt my feelings) I am taking any and all input so let me know! Thanks for watching and happy practicing!

What a cool idea for a challenge 👍 The video is so visually engaging - all that editing is clearly evident 👏 We CZcams followers are compelled to hold you accountable (your request) so I vote for waiting for you to fit it in between projects. The shorts would be, well, too short. Maybe to make it a bit easier you could go with the straight challenge (including the penalties) first, and save the Cup of Despair as a final Olympic event?
      Love your channel!!!

Once a week seems about right to maintain viewer involvement on something like this. Every day is frankly too much, even though I'm here for it. Really enjoyed this first video!

Awwww, this is too good to be relegated to shorts... 😕
The idea is engaging, the editing is great (as usual), your candidness is so refreshing and relatable! And on the whole, the care and attention to details and meticulous research is something that really sets your videos apart.
I second the once-a-week/every-10-days suggestion, that pace would be great to watch and hopefully sustainable for you editing-wise. Cheers and "happy practicing"! 😉

I want to see it ongoing and once a week seems like a good pace.

Bro, you are the gold mine i have been looking for: a clarinet based CZcams channel. Too bad you stop posting, but if started again just know that i will happily watch your videos

I've watched all your videos over the past year and this is easily my favorite. I laughed a lot, was gripped by suspense, disappointed, relieved, and I got to hear you play. Looking forward the next 2092 notes.

Hey Russell, thank you! It’s always nerve wracking putting out new styles of content because it’s hard to anticipate how it will be received, so I really appreciate you taking the time to let me know you liked it!

  • @Ryan_____________________

The amount of effort you put into your videos is astounding, great work.

@@ParkHouseCreations I can imagine that is not so easy, but as long as you enjoy what you're doing it'll help you post consistently. For me, I'm a clarinet nerd I'll watch your videos anyway :D

I feel like every day I practice my clarinet I pull a challenge from The Cup of Despair. (The struggle is real.) Fun video!

nice video ! You should make a video about sound production, and overall how to get a better tone and consistent air stream and making tone even across octaves

I have to ask what Barrel and Mouthpiece do you use?

    • @ParkHouseCreations
      @ParkHouseCreations  Před 2 lety

In this video I’m using a Standard Licostini FDC model. The barrel was custom made for my instrument by a friend and unfortunately can’t be purchased anywhere. My equipment changes from video to video, but I almost always include it in the description box. Thanks for watching!
