Caterham 485 San Bernadinopass //pure roads greatest drive with police

- The best driving starts at 10:04. This time i got caught from the police with "they say" 71 in a 60 area. It was CHF 120... But after that the real fun starts. The San Bernadinopass is my new favourite pass to drive. One perfect curve follows another. I am still so damn syked.
Microfone was rolling around in every curve, as i didn`t noticed that it was not strapped down correctly. So i put some music behind the whole track. Thanks to mixcloud!
8 years later and this is still one of my favorite videos on the internet , great roads , great views , absolute phenom of a car and also great driving , just awesome .
The ¨Super 7¨ logo is supperbly positioned. Love it. LOL
only the mindset of a buddist monk enables you to own a caterham and a drivers licence at the same time i guess

Whether or not the microphone was strapped down correctly, the music is a great touch, just the right volume between engine & music. These were some chilled out beats. Favourite so far though was BCee - Generations on the Sustenpass - epic

Dass der San Bernardino zu deinen Lieblingspässen gehört, kann ich sehr gut nachvollziehen. Ich habe diesen auch erst vor knapp zwei Jahren mit dem Seven kennen- und schätzengelernt; die Kurven sind wie gemacht für unsere heissen Leichtbaugefährte.
Ich freue mich auf weitere Videos! Diese helfen, die allzulange Winterzeit zu überbrücken :-)

That car is the "Raison d'etre" for enjoying those roads. I wondered how long it would take to get the Swiss Police on your back. They know the beautiful roads invite the speed and just wait around the corner. I suppose is a little pay for such a pleasure. B'stards! Excellent weather and a safe driver, thanks for the post.
The thing is. i don't speed or excess speedlimits to much on public roads. On those passroads with a caterham.. you don't have to. around 80 or up to 100 you can have more then enough fun.
common man, that spot for the police is classic, right out of Messoco, just before the first left hander:) 2015 got 2 tickets there :))) one in a 240Z one on my bike...lesson learned. great vids, have fun.

That was the enhanced "Maut" for the ride. :-) I rarely did such trips without doors. More comfortable and not so windy.

Did this last year in my Impreza , what a road but we drove the other way from Switzerland to Italy and it wasn't that cold or wet.

Love your driving style! Fast but not a dick. I've got a '66 Mustang that I love taking on back roads, but there is nothing like that here in America. I'd love to drive those roads some time!
+James Brekle I've never been there, but I'm willing to bet that Colorado has very similar roads to the alpine passes. It's essentially the same topography.
I drove to Washington from California and there was a lot of beautiful scenery, great hills, and sharp turns. Not quite like this but not too far off
Yeah man, with a car the San Bernardino pass is my 2nd favorite road to drive, the back side of Stelvio is my favorite with car and with motorbike

+Pure Roads just be sure to go at a time where there is no a too traffic, because a overtake with a car in the back side of stelvio is very difficult, but thats part of the fun ;)

+slaWterCH Speed traps do not measure the ability of the driver or the car. They simply measure a speed against a limit set by a bureaucrat. I spent most of my 20's and 30's driving like this guy. No accidents and just 2 speeding tickets. Not luck, judgement. You slow when things are not clear, you go faster when they are. Busybodys probably cant drive. I am 53 now, been driving 36 years. Still no accidents, still only 4 tickets in a driving career of 36 years. The people who need speed limits to tell them what is safe probably shouldnt be driving at all.
fully agree here... speed up when it's safe... slow down when it's not (e.g. high traffic density, bad weather, in towns, in cities, near schools, near pedestrians) ...
I also think speed limits sucks dick... I hate speed limits on open roads and hate the beaurocrats who make them.
Germany has about the same percentage of deadly car accidents, despite the Autobahn and less vehicle controls. The CH is more extreme nannystate, it seems. Are they going to run out of excuses anytime soon? :)

I guess you could just call it "the price of admission". The thing is, you can drive fast but still be safe about it, and not be a jerk. It's all about attitude. Be fast, have fun, but don't be a jerk. Pure roads... what a great video. Sorry the cops bothered you. You looked like you were having fun, and you were doing it safely. Happy driving.

yes. at kumschick. :-) speedcam was in the curve on the right side, where i had to pull over to the left.

Wenn du wirklich schnell unterwegs bist, und das ist mit diesem Seven sehr rasch der Fall, wirst du nach der "Raser-Strafnorm" verurteilt. Das bedeutet: Das Fahrzeug wird als "Tatwaffe" konfisziert (und staatlich verwertet) und es sind bis zu vier Jahre Gefängis möglich!!! Ergo: Auf CH-Boden auch beim (relativen) Schnellfahren den Kopf nie ausschalten!

Where was situated the speed radar?
I don't understand where they catch you speeding. First I see is a guy in the road. Was the speed trap further down the road....where and in what format? This always scared me about driving in Switzerland. Crossing into Italy felt like entering civilised society. Couldn't relax driving there...
they standing there with those radar pistols, where one office ic watching through, and tells the other *stop that* he was 10kmh to fast. Doesn't happen to often. Driven on those roads/curve with 80km/h is fast enough, trust me ;-)

Nice Car. But a very very bad Driver.I do not understand why you have to show publicly that you can not drive a car.
🙄 some people have nothing else to do but moan... If there's no oncoming traffic there's no wrong to crossing the central divide line... It's called efficient driving with car sympathy in mind.. less stress on your tyres and less time turning harder than required... Therefore safer... Taught to all police patrol cars..
