    Thanks for the video!! It already may be in the comments somewhere. If so, sorry. So I’m swapping a transmission that went bad in a 14 Escape, with a low mileage one, from the salvage yard. I’m guessing this is what I need to do after I have the transmission installed before I test drive? And I just follow your video and the steps. I should be good to go? Thanks in advance.

    Just out of curiosity could I re renter the old ID if not changing the valve body? I’ve got some wacky shift issues that kinda go away when resetting the tables. Will putting in the same ID strategy possibly help on top of resetting the tables.

    Hi, thank you so much for your video first of all. I’m currently trying to do this for my 10R80 as I just replaced the Valve body. After I input the new strategy number from the valve body it’s asks me what work has been done, I pick “Main Control Replacement Only” then it would give me “TRID data don’t match” looks like this step does not come up on your video.

    • @loballin007
      @loballin007 Před 4 měsíci

      Also mind you the reman valve body I repalced it with did not come with the ID card with the strategy numbers. So I'm taking the numbers that is stamped on the valve body itself.

      @@CarShopTalk The valve body came from Ebay. And it didn't come with the strategy ID tag. So i was basically taking the 13 digit strategy number directly from the valve body itself. Also this valve body is a remanufactured valve body.

    Hey bro. Nice simple vid. Under service procedure, I don't have "PCM clear transmission adaptive tables. Also I've purchased a 1 yr of Forscan. But the issue is, under license I don't see PCM trans character update, only TCM char update. But when i delete my license I have both, PCM & TCM transmission characterization. Couldnt you swap the selenoids over to the new valve body to avoid this relearn? Reason I'm asking is a discovered my valve body had damage (the plate). Figure that would work right?

    • @CarShopTalk
      @CarShopTalk  Před 7 měsíci

      Yes. If you swapped all the solenoids into the same position then the strategy would remain the same. I would still probably clear the adaptive strategy and perform a drive cycle relearn since you’re replacing at least part of the valve body.

    I have a 2010 Ford F150 with the 6R80 6-Speed Transmission. The licensed latest version of Forscan does not list a PCM module. Therefore there is no “Update Transmission Characterization” listed. Forscan told me this is not a feature available for my model/year vehicle. They also told me Ford IDS also does not contain this programming capability for my particular vehicle/year.
    So how is one supposed to enter the new solenoid strategy code and valve body id ?
    Apparently in my early 2010 my transmission uses a TCM that is moulded into the plastic lead frame that attaches to the valve body. I was told that the newer models do not have a TCM in the Lead Frame anymore and that a PCM Module is now used. I guess this explains why no PCM Module is found when Forscan connects.
    What a bummer, how is someone supposed to get this data entered? Is it only something a Ford service center can do with another type of software besides Ford IDS or Forscan?
    Sure was hoping to do this myself.😩

    • @user-df4jl5jl6k
      @user-df4jl5jl6k Před 15 dny

      Is there not a TCM transmission characterization update option? I’m assuming you’d just need that since the tcm is on the lead frame and not controlled by the pcm
