Yea, it's really sad really for the US music market to dismiss Westlife back then just cuz they are a boy band, I think they would have been a huge hit if the American radios gave them the chance. They never knew what they had missed! Such talents!
Actually it was totally by accident, a few years ago I was listening to Billy Joel songs and when I searched for "Uptown Girl", I found the Westlife version instead. I watched the video, and absolutely LOVED it. Not only were they SO cute, but they were some of the best singers I'd ever heard. I've been absolutely obsessed ever since. Westlife rocks! Sorry, didn't mean to bore you with my long-wined story! :P
I am from the States but was in the UK when this show came on the telly. I was thrilled that Westlife took on my fav. kind music! Shane has a beautiful voice and really got the "twang" lol! It was great and wish they would make a country album. But they are a pop group and sing pop. I can live with that! And Kian is my fav. Love ya Kian!!!!
Proves what and awesome talent they have to take on country and they totally covered up the mess up... AWESOME band....too bad they never broke into the US market...or that this show never got showed here....fan from the USA....Shane has and awesome voice....Hope and pray he decides to go solo.......
@Serianabella huge westlife fan here in the U.S. but the only way we get to see them is when youtubers post gems like these for us to watch and listen. this song sounded so good.with them breaking up maybe mark or shane will try solo here in the states. country or pop wouldnt matter. theres a country song here. i think the words describe shanes voice. it is smooth as tennessee whiskey, sweet as strawberry wine,and as warm as a glass of brandy. they didnt break states but have many fans here
Man, I was nervous for them... Gosh, It´s good to a band in that hours, and not having to to do something like that alone. Shay might have thanked the Lord for having such good friends by his side... Just watched this again and WOW! Westlife did great. It breaks my heart that they are splitting up and I will miss them so very much. When I get back over to the UK I hope to catch one of their last concerts. Maybe Shane and Mark will go solo and come out with some songs! :::sigh::: Westlife forever!!!!
