    Mam could not understand negative scotoma here....scotoma that the patient is unaware of is negative scotoma na mam..so y in later stage the patient becomes unaware?
    The explanation given is the affected area is incapable of giving rise to visual impulse ...
    Positive scotoma is patient will see black spot in place of what actually present in outer world...
    And negative scotoma is patient won't see black spot but he won't see what is actually present there as well? But saying that patient won't be aware of it... is not right I guess bcoz patient will notice that earlier the object looked differently so he will be aware of it...its just that in case of physiological blind spot ..the neagtive scotoma ...the patient wont be aware of it will hold true bcoz this is how all of us perceived that object to be since birth ...am I correct mam... plz reply
