I must admit, over the years I have developed something of an odd love of Romania. It’s such a fascinating country. My general impression of it has been that of a country that, while never quite a “major” power, has been a respectable power, and one to consider when operating in the Balkans and Eastern Europe in general. Much love from this American! 🇺🇸🇷🇴
At one time the Romanian countries were surrounded by 3 empires, the Russian, the Ottoman and the Austro-Hungarian, with such neighbors not many chances to be a power. It is a miracle they were able to unite.

You don't need to write an entire novel (like I just did) to explain yourself, just explain in a few short phrases cause I'll get the point anyway.... I've always been interested in hearing the foreigners' opinion about us, they're so eye opening when they're being honest. And speaking of honesty, please be brutal about your feelings / opinion about us. A fost , este si va ramane un film emblema pentru cinematografia romaneasca, pentru istoria romanilor , chiar si asa cu putinele lipsuri din el insa e un film epocal si de epoca! Dumnezeu sa-l tina la dreapta Sa pe Sergiu Nicolaescu, ptr ca asa cum a fost el , mai rece si vehement cu unii in filmele sale , la vremea de atunci, a dat de inteles ca numai cu daruire, devotament, seriozitate, munca multa si infinita, chiar si cu severitatea profesorului sau al profesionistului , reusesti sa faci asa capodopere! Si Sergiu Nicolaescu a lasat multe capodore culturale pentru intreg poporul roman ! A fost un timp cand l-am denigrad ptr nesimtirea si rautatea cu care s-a adresat in unele emisiuni fata de Costel Baloiu , insa vaznad acest film , nu ii mai reneg profesionalismul .Ce a fost cu respectivul in filmul Pistruiatul, o fi fost ceva doar intre ei pe subiecte cunoscute doar de C Baloiu, ca S Nicolaescu nu mai e printre noi ! O capodopera in care au jucat o mare parte din elita actoriceasca a Romaniei din totdeauna !

Foarte efervescente și adevărate filmele lui Nicolaescu. Arată încă o data cât de bine e sa fii comandant și sa te doară la banana de viețile soldaților. Din păcate, vedem iarăși ca la noi, la romani, interesele personale primează in fata celor comune. Un film trist dar perfect adevărat! Nemții au cucerit o Europa întreaga fiindcă au fost solidari și au știut sa se sprijine, sa se susțină de la cel mai mic batalion pana la divizie, in timp ce noi am tras doar pentru fala personală!

Stiu ca unii spun despre Nicolaescu ca a fost propagandist si ca a modificat anumite fapte istorice la indemul regimului Ceausescu, dar chiar si-asa, filmele lui ating multe corzi sensibile Romanesti, in sens bun, ptr. a-l considera pe Nicolaescu "un comunist imputit", asa cum am auzt din gura unor nimicuri.... At one time the Romanian countries were surrounded by 3 empires, the Russian, the Ottoman and the Austro-Hungarian, with such neighbors not many chances to be a power. It is a miracle they were able to unite.
since you've given your honest opinion, I will also give you mine: I don't like americans, and it's all because of your shitty government who think they're desceding from God himself and have the right to genocide civilians, undermine the economies of other nations so they can conquer them and steal their riches. I used to like americans in the 90s when I've been a young kid because right after the falling of the Iron Curtain we got bombarded with american propaganda, some good and some bad. So, I actually sympathized with you back then.... But as I grew up and I understood what the american government is all about (deceit, conquering, and supremacy of the dollar at the expense of exterminating all other nations and cultures on the planet), I started developing hate towards USA. And just like me, other people from other small nations that the american government is responsible for exterminating or enslaving, have also developed a hate towards USA. That's why, when you see "muslims" bombarding your towers many of you ask "why? why do they attack us? We are innocent"... Well, you should ask the CIA how innocent USA are, but I doubt you'll get an answer.... Actually, for your own safety, don't bother being smart and trying to uncover the truth because you might "accidentally" be gifted a bullet when you're going back home from work. That much I understood about the power-hungry corporations and governments as I grew up, which is: they hate being opposed and stripped of their power, they hate it to such extent that they'd have no issues nuking the entire planet into oblivion. The only thing that's stopping them is the fact that they can't live anywhere else... for now.... which is one of the reasons for which they invest so much in the conquering of space. Born a conqueror, always a conqueror....
This being said, you're sympathizing with us, so I can't be a complete douche and not return the favor and honestly tell you that I have no problems having a beer with you so we can both hate both our shitty governments. I really, truly, appreciate your sympathy for us, and - if my hate towards your government had not blinded you and hurt your american ego - I would like to ask what exactly do you like about us, and how did you come to know us. I'm asking because Romania.... at least modern day Romania and Romanians are not particularly interesting to anyone else, I've travelled the world... well, Europe only, but even so, I'm intelligent enough to understand other cultures without having lived among them, and I can tell you from first-hand experience that we (Romanians) are not seen with good eyes in many countries. And the sad thing is that I can understand why, because I went to work abroad in the Netherlands between 2018 and 2020, and I worked shoulder to shoulder with romanians, poles, hungarians, latvians, lithuanians, dutch, bulgars, russians, and many other foreigners... and we, romanians, have a particular thing about us that I was very ashamed of. Basically, all other nations were just trying to work harder so they can earn more, while Romanians were trying to cheat harder so they can earn more. Of course, not all of us have been like that, but enough of us to make me feel ashamed and disgusted....
And the reason I'm telling you all of these is because, besides our extremely beautiful country (which it is, and it's one of the many reasons for which many great empires and superpowers have tried conquering it over the centuries), and our warm people towards foreigners, between us we are not united, we are not civilized, we are not educated, we are of a pure, raw, ruffianism, cheekiness and even slight racism.
How much or how little of these characteristics are true... or visible to foreigners, I don't know. Which is why I'm asking for your opinion, and which is why I was amazed that you've developed a fascination with us. So, kindly please tell me, what exactly is it that you like about us? And I'd prefer if you didn't judge us by what you're seeing in this movie... or in our 60s to 90s era movies where the Romanian cinematography has been at its peak, and mostly because we've hard our best movie producer ever in the persona of Sergiu Nicolaescu. And while Sergiu had always strived to keep the historical movies (like this one, or like Michael the Brave, which I highly recommend that you watch if you haven't done it already) as accurate as possible, and while Romanians ARE like this... or at least they used to be in real life like you're seeing in Sergiu's movies, at the end of the day these are still movies, so you shouldn't judge us by movies :)
So, please, tell me what exactly you're liking about us. You don't need to write an entire novel (like I just did) to explain yourself, just explain in a few short phrases cause I'll get the point anyway.... I've always been interested in hearing the foreigners' opinion about us, they're so eye opening when they're being honest. And speaking of honesty, please be brutal about your feelings / opinion about us. Personally, I won't mind so much as I used to in the past, it might still hurt me, yes, but I'll make a conscious effort not to get pissed off because if you want to evolve and move forward you need to burst the bubble and hear the truth in its unaltered form....

@@Nektariusz Thats all that matters, it was written by Hand and took me 3 Weeks. And above of that, i had to position every Sentence by Hand for the entire Movie, Piece by piece. But yes, i could have done it better or perfect, but the thing is. How much time there is to spend and Frustration haha.

The romanians always stood here at the crossroads between empires and tried to do their best to stay alive. Otherwise the romanians are lovable people. Romania is not a poor country, but yes there are many people moneyless. There are many Roma because the mongols brought them here during their invasions a few hundreds years ago (as slaves or auxiliary troops). However you may come visit us, there are not so many as they were years ago, because many left for "better conditions" in western countries.

Film de anvergura acestuia in analele istoriei cinematografice romane nu a fost nu este si nici nu va mai fi . A fost , este si va ramane un film emblema pentru cinematografia romaneasca, pentru istoria romanilor , chiar si asa cu putinele lipsuri din el insa e un film epocal si de epoca! Dumnezeu sa-l tina la dreapta Sa pe Sergiu Nicolaescu, ptr ca asa cum a fost el , mai rece si vehement cu unii in filmele sale , la vremea de atunci, a dat de inteles ca numai cu daruire, devotament, seriozitate, munca multa si infinita, chiar si cu severitatea profesorului sau al profesionistului , reusesti sa faci asa capodopere! Si Sergiu Nicolaescu a lasat multe capodore culturale pentru intreg poporul roman ! A fost un timp cand l-am denigrad ptr nesimtirea si rautatea cu care s-a adresat in unele emisiuni fata de Costel Baloiu , insa vaznad acest film , nu ii mai reneg profesionalismul .Ce a fost cu respectivul in filmul Pistruiatul, o fi fost ceva doar intre ei pe subiecte cunoscute doar de C Baloiu, ca S Nicolaescu nu mai e printre noi ! O capodopera in care au jucat o mare parte din elita actoriceasca a Romaniei din totdeauna !

superba coloana sonora (38:43 - 42:02). Am melodia "drum bun" in winamp si o ascult de cateva ori la rand cand imi vine chef de ea... si-mi vine des :)
Nu stiu cat e realitate in filmul asta si cata-i fictiune (sau propaganda), dar a fost un film bun. De fapt, cam toate filmele facute de Nicolaescu pe care le-am vazut au fost bune.

Foarte efervescente și adevărate filmele lui Nicolaescu. Arată încă o data cât de bine e sa fii comandant și sa te doară la banana de viețile soldaților. Din păcate, vedem iarăși ca la noi, la romani, interesele personale primează in fata celor comune. Un film trist dar perfect adevărat! Nemții au cucerit o Europa întreaga fiindcă au fost solidari și au știut sa se sprijine, sa se susțină de la cel mai mic batalion pana la divizie, in timp ce noi am tras doar pentru fala personală!

3 ore de lupta continua... n-am vazut nici in Avengers asa ceva, Hollywood-ul e mic copil pe langa Nicolaescu...
Stiu ca unii spun despre Nicolaescu ca a fost propagandist si ca a modificat anumite fapte istorice la indemul regimului Ceausescu, dar chiar si-asa, filmele lui ating multe corzi sensibile Romanesti, in sens bun, ptr. a-l considera pe Nicolaescu "un comunist imputit", asa cum am auzt din gura unor nimicuri.... Nici mie nu-mi convine ca a fost fan al americanilor, de exemplu, dar ce-a facut ptr. cinematografia si inima romanilor a facut bine, asa ca-i iert acest mic inconvenient :)
A fost frumos filmul, trebuie scris în cărțile de istorie. Să știe și copii de azi cine au fost ei, și au luptat pentru independența noastră.
