Sorry friends! it's not the new recipe since my kids have been catching a cold and had no time to film.... I promise to come back with new recipe next week^^ I love all of 3 kabocha recipes so hope you will enjoy it! Happy Halloween! ^^
It's all okay.....just happy to see your video ✨
Good to catch your video on a Friday evening miwa. Plz take care of your kids... I guess the climate there is changing and thats y it's a cold season... thanks for the wonderful recipe as ever
@@shivikumaria thank you🙏so sweet of you🙏🙏
🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
LETS PUMPKIN!!!!. Makes perfect sense
LOL Lets Pumpk IN....I got it :D...and as an English person, your English is beautiful
I let out a hearty laugh at that, and I'm still smiling about it after watching the whole video.
I had no idea what else I could say! haha
I wanted to express how much I love the pumpkin and excited to share with viewers, ended up like that! haha
thank you very much for your kind word!!!!
@@MiwasJapaneseCooking It was adorable! 🥰
I did not know people eat pumpkin in Japan.
Here in the US people commonly put pumpkin in dessert pies during the autumn/fall and winter, but I like pumpkin and squash in all kinds of food. Pumpkin makes a very rich soup. Pumpkin seeds are also very nutritious when roasted.
I LOVE roasted pumpkin! I recently watched pumpkin latte on CZcams which I never tried but on the list^^. thank you for sharing!!
I'm curious too about if the seeds are saved and somehow roasted or cooked.
I was thinking of making kabocha soup! Since it’s getting cold and everyone is sick now 😅 so comforting and yummy, this video was a sign to make it :)
I don’t even cook but these recipes look soooooo delicious/Oishi desu…that it motivates me to learn Japanese cooking. US citizen living & loving Japan!!!! Thank you/Domo Arigatou Gozaimashita, Miwa San!
Looks so yummy
Thank you for the recipe. Looks so easy and delicious.
Great video, I like your sharing. Thank you very much my friend 👍🍞❤️😀👉!!
You can also substitute acorn squash for kabocha. You want to use a winter squash, not summer squash.Hadn't thought about using a yam instead.
The dark red of your blouse really suits you, so pretty!
Also more love for onions! They're so underrated. Funnily enough, I watched your video eating my onion-zucchini pasta which I used to make also with tuna and tomatoes (but now tomates aren't in season anymore here and I didn't want to use tuna) so there are some similarities between your dish and mine, I liked that
I am always looking for more pumpkin/squash recipes. These look really good! I would have never thought to use red miso with a tomato based squash recipe. I will have to try it! Thanks so much for the recipes! I hope you and your family get to feeling better.
美味しそう!作って見たい😍
Three great recipes that seem easy to make and also very hearty and welcome for the fall ! Very nice !Happy Halloween Miwa 😀
lovely video as always! take care of yourself and your family
Praying for speedy recovery kiddos 🙏 Definitely I'll try the recipe😋. Have a safe Halloween 🎃
I had a wonderful pumpkin dish in Nagano at a hotel restaurant, I have hit asian markets and never found as Japanese pumpkin, maybe it was the squash, I will have to try
so glad to hear you had a good kabocha dish in Nagano! Beautiful place^^
Hope your little boys feel better soon! Happy Halloween to you, too!
Hi Miwa-san….very comforting recipes. I love the kabocha with thick noodles in miso soup. I hope your boys feel better soon!! Happy Halloween to you too 🎃 👻 🧙
Yum!
thank you!!!^^
Happy Halloween 🎃 great job with your bike 🚲 you can do anything you put your mind to! 💝🙏💝 Congratulations.
These look amazing! I think I need to go to the farmer's market tomorrow, and see if they have kabocha squash. :) I've seen it around I think, though the favourite winter squash here is butternut.
Such a sweet endearing voice, love to beautiful you and your beautiful family💐❤️💐
Looks delicious
thank you very much for your kind word!!
konnichiwa.. i love to know how to cook Japanese food. yoroshiku....
Here in Sweden I don’t think we can get a kabochi, but we do have something called butternut pumpkin. Do you think I could use that instead? It also has a sweet taste.
I hope your boys get well soon, being sick is no fun! In Sweden we often eat soup and drink tea with honey when we are sick or have a cold.
I think butternut squash should work!! In my opinion, Compare to kabocha, butternut has more moisture to it. thank you very much for your kind word!!^^
Or acorn squash would work nicely
Yummy😎👍👍!
Just in time! I have a big kabocha sitting around waiting for a good recipe! Ty! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️… Hontoni arigato gozaimasu!!! 😊
wow!!!!! So happy to hear!!!!!! miso udon noodle is my favorite^^
@@MiwasJapaneseCooking I have a feeling it will be one of my favorites also! 🙌🏼
I always struggle with cutting the kabocha as well. I usually ask my husband to cut it in half or quarters before I cut it into the chuncks I need. The kabocha miso soup would i think also be great with mochi instead of udon (I just love mochi) and for a bit of a kick as my husband likes it shichimi on it just before eating the udon miso soup.
Now I have kabocha again (I can really only get it in autumn and beginning of winter) I need to make the spread. My daughter loves the kabocha korokke (I got teh recipe from the ootoya recipe book hahaha) so I wonder if she'll eat this as well.
Our favourite kabocha recipes are those korokke and kabocha salad. And I have some stir fry recipes with kabocha with ama kara seasoning. And though not kabocha but really good for autumn, yesterday I made a easy kuri and sweet potato potage. That would be great with for example kabocha tenpura.
Hope your sons are feelling better now.
Could you show how to make plant based furikake at home? I have tasted original Japanese handmade furikake long time ago. Love to know know how to make it, with taste of umami. (The ones sold prepacked in shops are not nice)...
Hi Miwa. Could you post a picture of the soy yogurt you use please? I recently tried almond milk yogurt, but it wasn’t as nice as I’d hoped. Thanks for the koabocha inspiration. I always fall into a rut with that vegetable. Have a good weekend!
oh! I'll make sure to include that in the future video OR on Instagram stories!!! ^^
I'd like to try kabocha pumpkin, but I hate squash yet I like sweet potato. If I see a small one for sale I'll give it a try. I haven't seen any so far, just regular pumpkins. Could you do some recipes that use only the rice cooker? And any sweet potato ones, because the only thing I do with the purple ones is put them in miso soup lol.
Using rice cooker is a great topic !! thank you for the idea!!! ^^
Miwa, I love your recipes! They’re delicious, and you create such pleasant, educational content. Have you ever considered creating a Patreon? Or a Kickstarter for a cook book?
P.S. I asked a similar question on another video, but I realized I didn’t ask it very clearly: I can’t seem to find gluten-free dashi packets or kombu stock powder...do you know of any?
I didn’t know you could eat the skin of kabocha!
I bake kabocha whole... I'm too lazy to cut it 😃
Please take care of your kids..... 😇😇😇😇 I am watching your video🤤🤤🤤🤤
How do you know if the kabocha is fresh and good to eat? The kabocha here sold in the Netherlands sometimes have weird stains on the skin and I don't know if that's normal or not🤔
It’s the same as any other squash. Unfortunately the only “real” way to know is to cut in but there are tips and tricks online to try and identify which are still fresh inside- google “how to tell if kabocha squash is fresh”. The coloring on the skin should be mostly green and hard to touch, if you really don’t feel ok with eating stained skin you can cut it off. It should feel heavy and if there’s any soft spots try another. Good luck!
