    Thank you for your video. In your opinion, what will you advise? Coming to Australia via competent authority pathway before doing EM Training in australia vs doing EM Training in Uk and then moving to Australia post CCT? Assuming one is just starting his career in the UK, which will be more preferable.

    I am an aspiring EM fellow. I have a question, people argue that EM gets boring and consultants find it tough to do shifts with the passage of time. What are your thoughts on this?

      Yes, indeed there are various issues and people do find it challenging. But also these issues can be in other specialities too. If you find a good team to work with in ED, there is no better job

    Is FRCEM (CESR pathway and not CCT) valid to work in Australia?
    If not can we apply for Registrar post after MRCEM and a year of experience in UK?

      MRCEM is not yet accredited for registration in Australia. CESR pathway approval by ACEM is suggested

      Most residents are expected to have at least done BLS + ACLS or APLS course but rest of the procedural and resuscitation skills are taught at job whilst working

Currently working in a Medical ICU of a Government General Hospital of SL. I have done ALS, APLS and Neonatal Resuscitation and emergencies courses. I have experience in Peadiatrics and Neonatology, Emergency Medicine, Ophthalmology and Intensive Care. I am skilled in Emergency and ICU procedures as well. Currently I am applying for jobs.       With your credentials, you should be able to find an Emergency Registrar position in regional setting. Apply to the local hospitals directly. Also, more importantly, try pass AMC Clinical that will significantly improve your chances along with your practical experience

      You can apply for the jobs in Gulf countries.. But in Australia can't with MRCEM..

    Do ER Doctors who work on public holidays /night shift on weekends often get paid more? 30 days annual leave is that common? Are 12hr shifts common for ER Drs?

      Extra work and public holidays are paid with % penalties. Typical shift is 10 hours. 4 week annual leave pro rata

    What’s the difference between night shift and evening shift? And did I understand correctly that consultants don’t do night shifts?

      If your hospital or the place you practice approves your maternity leave whilst keeping you employed, then it is considered a maternity leave. However, if you have quit your job due to maternity, it is then considered a clinical gap.

    Speciality for adrenaline junkies.
    Emergency medicine is one of the top paying speciality for a fresh passout DNB/MD post graduate today.
    Lot of opportunities in India and abroad.
    In present situation Radiology and EM are the top paid specialities for a fresh passout post graduate
