Basics of Drawing - 2D & 3D Shapes
The initial training of drawing starts with pencil. It is said that, once you can learn all about pencil work can do anything using any medium. Knowledge of using different types of pencil is very important. Starting with light construction lines and minimum lines, gradually improving the shapes and forms using light & shades to a finished drawing.
The way you hold the pencil, will depend on the type of drawing you want to create. Fine detailed work is done with a sharp pointed pencil holding in writing position, large and loose line sketches are more easily accomplished holding the pencil under palm position.
Study of lines and various strokes, proper application of light and shades to create a three-dimensional effect in your work will surely develop the quality of your drawing.
