This video is much appreciated, as after 4,000 battles, I am still so awful. After watching your video, I am going back to Tier 5 and using the faster firing guns.

A tad bit late to the party, but I'd like to point out that the IS can seem very bad for a heavy since it feels like a medium armor-wise. For any (new) players going through the IS grind, it gets better! It used to be a better tank than it is now, but the tanks further down the line still feel great. Don't give up, it's worth it!

OK Max. I was intrigued by the Pz. IV H and your comments, so I had enough accumulated experience and credits to promote myself from the Pz III. You are not wrong, that thing stops opponents in a single shot. I am not sure I am actually learning much, but I am having a ball! Thank you. (Old bloke learning slowly.) If you see ScrewballMalta - please don't shoot!
This is an awesome video Max. This should be pinned somewhere. I could have used all this info when I just started out and, actually, it is very usefull for me after 4k games. Thanks for sharing from your experience!

It’s okay, in the middle between easy for a new player and hard. It’s slow and does not have insane forgiving armour and gets ammo racked A LOT!
@@MaxGamingFPS Thanks for reply Max! Could you suggest a good T9 medium as well? That is my favorite tier. I am a TD and Heavy player, so far 12000 games win 52% win rate, and I only have E50. I am considering M46 Patton and T54, how do you think?
@@leifang9829 It depends on what type of medium you want. Personally, I love sniping, so the Leo PTA is my go to. If I want to play a ridge line or go hulldown, the Centurion 7/1 is my choice.

Very nice guide, I'm still under 1k battles so have much to learn. I just unlocked the T-44, I actually skipped the T-34 because I got the T-34-85 with the beginner missions rewards. I play a lot with my friend who always wants to play highest tier, but I realize that learning some stuff may be better at lower tiers first. I did play some low tier tanks that had the top of the tree boost, like the Chi-Nu for example, but would you still recommend I go back to the T-34?
I also played a lot of the German tanks, just got to the Tiger I, which is I believe meant for longer ranges, but honestly got it just because it's RL popularity.
And yes I would like to see that KV-1 setup in action :)
It’s up to you. If you feel like you have a decent understanding then just play the T-44

Another question, I heard the obj 430U was a good tank and was actually aiming for that at first, do you think obj 140 is better or just more beginner friendly?
430 is more heavy than medium. That’s why I didn’t recommend it. It’s okay, but if you are learning how to play mediums 140 is the best choice.

Thanks for this. I seem to be too dumb for this game or am missing something absolutely vital. I get shot from across the map by tanks I can't see and I have NO IDEA what to do about it.
Everything takes time. Just keep watching videos and find out more about the game to see what works and what doesn’t. The best way of improving is through experience.
@@MaxGamingFPS As far as I can tell right now, it mostly takes crew skills for camo and view range. At least it gets rarer that something on open fields is shooting at me without becoming visible.
But yeah, takes time. Probably a good thing, otherwise this would just be another low-skill-arcade that seem to become popular these days.
OK so I have learnt an amazing amount from you and start to move away from the silly player but...
I want to challenge some of what you have said but because you have forgotten how stupid people like me can be... :)
First DPM and staying alive is not that probable when you are new or free to play. As free to play and new you want your few hits before you die to make a dent (penetration). As a free to play you always want your hits to be standard rounds if possible even if you miss half the game by being slow or dead. Armour is also important to compensate for being unknowledgeable. - I still 20+k games later do not know where is a weak spot on any tank... that makes a difference between a fool and a pro... does a penetration cover my stupidity or not.
Your thoughts in a video and perhaps a series would help more people I think...

My T10 BC t 12 has 5 shots in mag. Im confused by this. Are there differences between the different servers ??. I play on Asia Server (HK). Might investigate
There should not be that much different, I am not sure. Both of the guns are 4 shells in the magazine.

Hey Max could you give us your view on the CREW 2.0 that Wargaming is proposing for WOT! I see it as nothing more than a money grab by Wargaming and I'm afraid this will be the

Well, I was going to make a video on it today. I mixed up the dates and now found out that it closed today. So I guess I am not going to make a video on it.
I will give the short of it here:
6th Sense, 3 tanks per crew and no more 50-75% crews are VERY good for the game and a needed change. However, that is about it.
I don't personally feel that the crew needed to be touched at all. I find that the way it is now is perfect, minus those that I have mentioned. Everything is very clear and easy to pick what skills would be good for your tank. Crew 2.0 only seems in convolute everything. I don't like the idea of a mastery skill system where you pick 30 points from 1 category and then you unlock the master perk. Most of the perks people are going to pick are things that will increase the DPM of the tanks. With Crew 2.0 you can make the tanks have a lot more DPM than on the live server right now. This is not a good thing. We already have turbo games, this is going to make the games even faster than they already are...
I like the UI and the idea of picking your skills in a point system, I think its nice and brings the game up to date. Some perks and skills that they have added are good, Intuition is now useful and actually a very valid choice especially on tanks that have long reloads or autoloaders. Taking less module damage and other things to protect the crew are also nice to have as perks.
Finally, Instructors...
WHY DO THEY EXIST!
It's stupid, you spend so long grinding to get your favourite streamer in the game and then you find out he has the wrong skill set so he is now useless. Same goes for all the other commanders that you thought were good, now they are just useless, unless you get lucky RNG and get the perk you want.
Hopefully that explains how I feel about Crew 2.0. I think it is a massive kick in the face from WG just from the Instructors point alone.
@@MaxGamingFPS I think it's a massive way to speed up the game (given the speed increase skills and the new DPM skills that will drastically change the game play and
enjoyment. It seems to me that the faster the game the faster the credit, gold and consumable drain and the more money spent on the game thus enriching Wargaming
even more! What we are going to have are 2-4 min games, more one sided games and the loss of the enjoyment factor which most regular joe players are here for (including
me)! I don't recall hearing many players complaining about crew skills in the game. Seems Wargaming likes to address issues that really are a problem and leave alone
the real issues! Max, I'm just a casual player that enjoyed the game and has look pasted the major flaws in the past. But if Wargaming continues forward and implements
these changes (other than the 6th Sense, 2 tanks per crew and no more 50-75% crews which you highlighted) I'm afraid there is going to be a mass exodus from the game
and World of tanks will no longer be the enjoyable game I've come to enjoy! Thanks again Max for your thoughts and good/bad points. I think the bad by far out weigh
