Thank you so much for your generosity in teaching this. Got it down (the tune anyway, not the finesse!), and am gonna play it for my wife when she comes home. She got the fiddle for me last Christmas (I'd never touched one before, but already play mandolin, banjo, guitar). So fun, love your videos, and super grateful for you have shared so much of yourself on here!

This is GREAT!!! I’ve heard this tune my WHOLE LIFE but never knew the name of it...I’ve played it on the piano several thousand times at gigs...but this time, while watching your video, I have my classical guitar in hand (‘cause it’s late and the other 5 Family members are all sound asleep) AND, it’s fingertip-friendly, so unbeknownst to you, you just taught a guitar lesson!!! I know, I know, you should probably be paid for that, but for the time being, my heart-felt gratitude will have to suffice. Thank You Sensei‼️🎼🎸🎊🎻🎹🏆👌‼️

After I learned the notes for both parts, I realized I was playing each as quater notes. How do i go from simply knowing the quarter notes to playing it in the timing that you do so that it has that Irish 6/8 sound? (This is my first song on the fiddle).

I must add though, that part of the attraction to your videos is to play the game - what parcel will there be on the floor over your left shoulder :) I guess it depends on the season, maybe Christmas presents in December?? Thanks for the fun parts too, makes it more interesting

did you add that fret note thing recently? could have sworn they weren't there two or three weeks ago when i first watched the intro? i might also say that they are a little confusing as they jump all over... i know what you are hitting but maybe another way? so far your video has been the most helpful learning this tune... i think i like the sound of it slow just as much as the fast paced version :^)

Edorian- what a delightful thing to learn. Wow! It sounds like you are not accenting 2nd and fourth notes? Isn't Irish music supposed to be rather opposite of our English and Western tunes, whereas we accent the first and third notes? Just asking.
