The intake should be higher heat rises. It would pull the hot air from the top of your camp and replace it with cool air down towards the bottom where you guys are sleeping. You wouldn't want to put the cold air directly in the ceiling where it's going to eventually flow out of the top of the tent.
nice..I was thinking of doing this for our dog when we are gone. He stays in a screened area. I have an old tent and a window ac. I never thought of actually making a duct box though and I like this idea as opposed cutting something into the tent

I was thinking of keeping it outside and re routing the cold air in .. I didnt know that the hot air from inside the place had to be sucked in :( thank you for sharing this.
The intake will pull the heat and humidity out of the tent especially when it's really hot out. I've tried it the way your saying and it don't quite do the job
How does that work? What size of duct do you use? I had similar setting with 6 inch duct hose. Notice ac start to short cycling. Guess air flow restriction cause evaporator too cold. See lots of condensation on control panel

May get cooler air if your put the intake hose up high with the output hose lower. Warmest air will be at top of tent

Yo i suggest you get the ITC 308 for that set up that would help you Controll it So you dont have to go outside everytime

Any issues with this setup. Does the restricted air flow from the 3 inch tubing affect the unit?
Maybe a grill cover?
Could work as long as the sides and rear can vent and get good air flow 🙏🏼
keeping the unit itself out of the sun might even make a difference
