    It’s still the best Spider-Man animated series. I tried watching the other ones, unlimited, spectacular, ultimate .. I really tried giving them a shot, but nope, they don’t even come close.

    28:07 This is one creative liberty that I wish they had stuck with. They made the hobgoblin a man of color in his first appearance without even showing his face, and then white washed him so that it conformed with the comic.

    11:32 I guess contemporary for Stan means 1977. I always felt that the design of Peter closely resembled Nicholas Hammond, who played the first live action Spider-Man. I just never felt that it was necessary. Up until that point Peter had always had that brush cut or even a mullet during the McFarlane era. I guess it was a throwback for me but it worked in the end. I just hated the fact that they couldn't come up with a teenage design for Peter for the origin. One minute he looks thinner and wore glasses, and then the next he looks like his present day college age. Made zero sense.

    I would have liked to see those three spider-man villians. I only found out about 2 of them later from looking into the comics, and this video.

    "all roads to Gwen lead to death" .. holy crap man... hits hard... wish I had this quote for one of the short videos I just made on Spidey on my small channel.
    if anyone wants to check it out...
    "The True Lesson of SPIDER-MAN ethics and morality in Marvel comics"l..... but anyway
    Some of the scene selections in this video are so brilliant, like at 10:43 when he's saying "because others had agendas that needed to be served first" and they have a clip of Kingpin talking into Osborn's ear lol, and many others were genius....
    I don't know who could down vote this video... greatly honors to the real MVP Semper - but lol they called it 'over acting' for Barne's "Shocker" scenes too? lol I thought was awesome, some of my fav scenes... that and him yelling for Mary-Jane and wanting to "destroy" Osborn.
    ahh that spider-hand... so many good memories from this video....and I learned stuff too
    I didn't know about Losech's pettiness and : o they had a script that finds mary jane was out in 2018? wow...
    I wish this video could catch wild-fire trending it's awesome. totally.......Geeks..... :)

    Though I think the 90s X-Men cartoon was better, this show was still pretty dope. I just hate how sometimes they try to cram like 1-2 episodes worth of plot into 1-2 minutes of exposition. I guess they wrote too much and they just refused to remove any of the dialogue so they just sped up some of the recorded lines so they’d meet the runtime limit. It’s not always bad like with the King Pin origin, but it gets really bad like when Prowler just tells Peter Parker his whole life story.

    Totally random question. But because I’m editing a video that also uses this Spider-Man theme as subtle music in the background. Did they give you a copyright claim? Great vid by the way!

    • @TotallyAwesomeGeeks
      @TotallyAwesomeGeeks  Před 3 lety +1

      You will be fine using Spider-Man theme from the 90's animated cartoon. If you are ever in doubt just post the video as private or unlisted to make sure it doesn't get a copyright claim. If it does just check what part of the video. 90 percent of the time it will be a song or a piece of licensed music. We couldn't use the Spider-Man's theme from Raimi's trilogy. Hence, we used a cover of the song. You could also change the speed of the song to avoid getting a copyright claim.

    So were there actually other episodes planned that were supposed to "end" the series? OMG, it hurts my heart we never got to see the happy end! But you say they were released in 2018 if I heard correctly...why did they not make the last episodes then? :(

    • @TotallyAwesomeGeeks
      @TotallyAwesomeGeeks  Před 3 lety +3

      In 2018, John Semper (show runner and writer of Spider-Man: TAS) wrote 66th episode titled "PETER FINDS MARY JANE" as a giveaway for people who donated to his crowdfunding campaign. He was trying to raise money for one of his passion projects at the time. The script was eventually leaked online. The existence and legitimacy of the script was confirmed by Semper himself. However, this script was never meant to conclude the series. It was written 20 years after the show has ended and features characters like Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy. It is not cannon to the series but rather a fun gift for the fans who needed closure.

      @@TotallyAwesomeGeeks Wow, that's so interesting. So it's not official? But they wanted it to close first, then it changed, right?
      Is the script available somewhere today? 😊

    • @TotallyAwesomeGeeks
      @TotallyAwesomeGeeks  Před 3 lety +1

      @@daliborburanda3397 It depends on your definition of "official." It was written by John Semper himself. For many that makes it official. But for others, the series ended in 1998. The script is available for purchase on various websites but we would urge you not to buy anything in fear of being scammed. You can find the basic script breakdown online. It is not an entire script (due to copyright) but it tells you exactly what's in it. We tried to reach Semper directly via his Facebook page but he never got back to us. We would have loved to ask him questions about the series and get some exclusive info. Or maybe he will publish a book about the making of the series. Fingers Crossed.

    • @daliborburanda3397
      @daliborburanda3397 Před 3 lety

      @@TotallyAwesomeGeeks Oh man, I feel like this is super duper new for me. I remember me as what..10 to 12 years old watching the series like mad in our country. Dressing up, getting the toys, playing with them. You know, living for Spidey..and today I get to know that there is actually "an end" for the series and it's available, and it was published 20 years ago? I feel like this is the missing puzzle I would love to have and read.
      And so do you know if the 66th episode that John wrote does contain everything they wanted it to end like back then? Wonder if he kept that secret for so long and then revealed the whole ending.
      Sorry for being pain, but this is thrilling to see and learn about!

    • @TotallyAwesomeGeeks
      @TotallyAwesomeGeeks  Před 3 lety +1

      @@daliborburanda3397 No worries. We are fans of the series as much as you are. We are happy to share any information we find on the series we grew up on and games we've played as kids. Well, just to be clear, the 66th episode was written in 2018 featuring characters like Miles Morals and Gwen Stacy (her superhero version). So, it was clearly written with modern sensibilities in mind. There was no Miles or Gwen (in her hero version) in the 90s. However, their appearances in the script are relegated to no more than cameos. It is possible that if John had to write 66th episode in the 90s, he would have mostly followed the same structure. However, knowing that he still had to answer to his bosses, we can't say with 100 percent accuracy that it would have ended up exactly as he intended it. Semper wrote 66th episode 20 years after the series ended. Not only did he changed as a writer but he also didn't had other writers helps him on this project like when he did writing the series for Fox.

    Wow so like in the 60's with DC about to kill off Batman unless sales picked up so someone made a Batman TV series staring Adam West and Burt Ward and then the comics picked up so in the 90s Spider-Man the Animated Series went on Fox 17 kids to help make the comic sales pick up.
