Who is Ron Spomer
For 44 years I’ve had the good fortune to photograph and write about my passion - the outdoor life. Wild creatures and wild places have always stirred me - from the first flushing pheasant that frightened me out of my socks in grandpa’s cornfield to the last whitetail that dismissed me with a wag of its tail. In my attempts to connect with this natural wonder, to become an integral part of our ecosystem and capture a bit of its mystery, I’ve photographed, hiked, hunted, birded, and fished across much of this planet. I've seen the beauty that everyone should see, survived adventures that everyone should experience. I may not have climbed the highest mountains, canoed the wildest rivers, caught the largest fish or shot the biggest bucks, but I’ve tried. Perhaps you have, too. And that’s the essential thing. Being out there, an active participant in our outdoor world.

Thanks for taking us along on your trip, beautiful landscape, wildlife the colors are so brilliant on those fish.
Glad you had a good trip. I know how hard you work, so a vacation fishing in the warm sun is a well deserved break. Hope the your wife gets better soon and I'm looking forward to your next video. Stay safe Ron.
Thank you Gary.
Sounds like you had one great vacation
Finally! Need to do that again next winter. Only stay longer. I'm wondering if I insulted the Idaho weather gods by skipping out for a week because ever since we got home we've been hammered with cold and snow.
i grew up in south LA and fished saltwater every weekend. I 'm also a duck and deer hunter from a young age in south Louisiana. i now live in northern CO and hunt the Dakotas.. It's great to see you experience this Ron.. The world is a large place, even here in North/South America.
If you don't already, you should start doing voice overs. That was very poetic. Enjoyed it a lot.
I’m so glad you enjoyed your trip to my home country. It’s always nice to know that visitors had a great experience here. We want you and your family and friends to come back.
There is no hunting here but we have plenty of fishing and more.
My wife and I now want to trade Cancun for Costa RIca. Thank you Sir!
What's best for deep sea fishing? 270 Win, 7mm RM or maybe step up to the 300 Wby for tough fish? We'll answer that question today on the RSO podcast......
Spectacular Photography Ron...you maybe missed a calling..a multi talented man!😎👍Aus
I was two times at Puerto Jimenez with my friends from Florida and my son of 9. It‘s one of the best places on earth. The fishing is really great. We caught sailfish, pez gallo, african pompano, broomtail grouper, cubera snapper and many more. Pura vida! Our only problem were the howler monkeys in the trees just outside the lodge. At 4.30 am they made their wakeup calls.
Costa rica has always been a bucket list item...being a northerner myself a week long fishing trip south is always on my mind come winter

What a beautiful place. Bucket list for sure
Truly one of your best videos to date. I was blessed to go deep sea fishing in the Pearl Islands as well as the islands around Taboga island in Panama. Catching a 45 pound bull Dorado is still one my favorite all time memories. Thank you for sharing this awesome trip!
Glad you had such a great looking trip thanks for the videos and time and know how you pass along great stuff Ron

That looked like an awesome get-a-way. I've always loved the Rocky Mountains and want to live there, but that looked like a ton of fun!

Thanks for the great video Ron. You're always taking me to places I'll never get to see myself in person. Such a beautiful adventure.
Amazing 👍👍
Very nice! Beautiful photography! Thanks for sharing!
It's a nice place to go in the middle of winter. Couple of years ago I spent two weeks down there and all I did was fish. It's a fantastic place to go if you like fishing.
My last fishing trip in the ocean was at Myrtle Beach, Coth Carolina. I am so jealous.
Thanks, Ron! Now I know what the German's call "Doraden" is Mahi Mahi. BTW, you're a good salesman. Now I want to go.
So glad you and wife had such great time ❤ I still go North but who knows might want to change it up if I get older 😉
By far is your best video, nice change of
Super to go fishing in Crocodile bay. Love Southern waters.
RON YOU MUST GO TO ICELAND FOR ATLANTIC SALMON SEATROUT BROWN TROUT AND CHAR!
Good morning- unreal trip. dear! :)
What an Awesome trip, thanks for sharing.
You're always an inspiration, Ron! Keep at it!
How deep will a .300 RUM shoot ? Stay tuned and find out ! 😄
This adventure is a lot better than gabbing on about brass bullets that are hardly different at all. Hunting with a camera there produced some very colourful and interesting pics. Penn makes a welcome change from Remington and Ruger. Great holiday and video.
Cool !
Know your talking ❤
Really cool makes me want to whip out the credit card and book a trip for the family!
Great to see you out in the warm sun Ron! Awesome video blog, love the content.
P.S. You handled the recoil of those big rigs and big fish well! :D
@@paulvenn4447 Those fish have more recoil than my largest rifles.
I would go back too.
Had to do a double take! Ron is fishing? Say no more!
Nice
Going down next March. 2nd trip.
is a budget 300 win mag even worth the cost of a muzzle brake being put on ?It came threaded for it. My brother bought me a budget 300 win mag but getting up there in age me and recoil don't get along any longer.
If a .308 is comfortable to shoot a .300 win firing lighter bullets with a muzzle brake is similar. A .300 caliber brake is $50-$200, & you install it yourself. Just check if the rifle is a common thread for caliber .30 is usually 5/8-24. Budget rifles from good brands often outshoot premium rifles from the 90's. So spending a little money to set it up for you is not a bad thing if you're going to use it. If not you probably know a young hunter who could really use a good rifle. Cheers
🤠 Some of my family members did find some complete sheds of two 400"+ bulls yesterday and a Full Curl Trophy Bighorn Sheep Skull (within 1/2 hour of my home too)! 😱 Hopefully, the will grow a "little bigger" for my hunt this fall? 🦌
Full curl ram head? Fantastic. I once found a full curl Dall in the Alaska Range, but the bottom of one horn had been in contact with wet tundra long enough to have that stench of anaerobic decomposition. Couldn't get it home on commercial flight, so donated it to the guide.
Until recently you were not allowed to pick them up! That has changed and they were able to keep it! 😁
I would love to spend a month fishing in the tropics and putting about 100 pounds of good fish in the freezer a year
Wouldn't that be fine?!
touch the gills is not good for fish
Great video Ron
🦜🦋🌺🐟 Considering it was snowing where I am yesterday, you wouldn't need to twist my arm very hard! 😜
