    Mine just arrived. Seems like we all got it when banggood cocked up the price. Now it's $200+ for all kit with electronics.

      I know 🤦🏽‍♂️ 😂. I've filmed a build video too, but I know if you are doing one, it will be way more useful than mine 😂. I was missing the bearings for the diff in my kit. Had to use off a wl. Look forward to your vid. 👍🏽

    Nice drifting & those were great angles! Cool video, never heard of the HGD1, I may have to do some investigation.

      Angles inspired by you brother.... Love your chassis shots. I thinks hilarious we both went rwd at same time. Ps I had to get new esc for my ma030. 😭. All my fault 🤦🏽‍♂️

      @@BMR3 😂 I accidentally put 4 x 3.7 lipos(14.4volts!!) aaa instead of 2 x 3.7 and 2 connectors 7.2v .(Just thought the bottom 2 cells were connectors didn't check) thare she blows captain! Smoke the works..... Its had no issues with 7.2v. Gutted so I'm doing a video about my stupidity.

    I got the HGD1 earlier as at the time maybe due to pricing error I was able to get it with full electronics cheaper than it'll cost me to get a DRZ.
    I did not have missing parts, I got some extra screws and shims though.
    You're right about the diffs though, but generally people use a locked diff as an open one in the back causes understeer under power in some situations when the inside wheel spins while the outside doesn't.
    After seeing this I'm trying to stop myself from getting a DRZ too XD, RWD drifting is just too fun.

    • @GarageMiniRCUK
      @GarageMiniRCUK  Před 4 lety +1

      It was your video that inspired me 👍🏽. To be fair I think it was simple mistake with bearings bangood are usually good for delivery. I am now addicted to rwd. Im still learning how to set it up. What did suprise me was how good it was at 90mm.

    • @Auranapse
      @Auranapse Před 4 lety +1

      @@GarageMiniRCUK Haha and I was inspired by Beaver. The pricing error was pointed out by him before I got it.
      I did also try a 90mm setup with the RX7 FC, and it also handled really nice. I also noticed that weight distribution affects the handling a lot. It could be that the 90mm shells place it in a good spot.
      I recently ordered a liberty walk R35 from HRC Arena that fits Mini Zs and would probably put it on this to try out the longer 98mm wheel base. Technically a longer wheel base should be more stable.
      Great video by the way :D
      Really like the detailed comparisons

    • @Auranapse
      @Auranapse Před 4 lety

      @@GarageMiniRCUK I just decided to try out some more setups I haven't tried, and I think you should try putting the width to be the widest possible on the top and bottom(0 camber), then use wheels with lesser offset. This let me use all of the possible steering angle. Also, have the front of the car toe out by just a very very slight bit, close to parallel.
      This made the car not spin out as much, and you can actually pull off drifts with much higher angle. Only issue is that the steering might bind at 100% so you may need to limit the endpoints.

    • @GarageMiniRCUK
      @GarageMiniRCUK  Před 4 lety +1

      @@Auranapse great advice I'll try that straight away. It's a joyous thing when it drifts. Thank you.

    • @Auranapse
      @Auranapse Před 4 lety

      @@GarageMiniRCUK Hopefully it'll help! I actually found someone local with a DRZ and might get one off him. If I got the time I may make a video of my setup as it doesn't seem like there's anyone talking about them.
      Also, I only just found a solution to the binding problem at high locks, I put a physical limiter on the steering arm, using the plastic bushing of the MR03.
      What happens is that at the limit this plastic bushing would contact the front of the chassis and just limits the steering from going over the edge which would make it stuck. I'm surprised at how perfect it was as it doesn't restrict any steering movement, only at the extreme limit.

      Ok I use shoshine 350mAh x2 cells and 2 dummy. Be careful not to use more than 2 main cells it will blow the car. Just use nimh 750mah sho orion cells for now it's safer . Once you have experience with the car.... Then go up power
