Description: Our star, the Sun. As mysterious as it surely was to our ancient ancestors, it’s no mystery why they worshiped and feared it. It’s the source of all life on Earth. The sun warms our planet every day, provides the light by which we see and nourishes the plants that support the food chain we sit so precariously atop of. It can also cause cell death and make us blind. It could fit 1.3 million Earths inside its sphere. It produces poem-worthy sunsets and as much energy as 1 trillion megaton bombs every second.
All of this, and our sun is just a plain old average star, by universal standards. It’s really just proximity that makes it so special to Earth. We wouldn’t be here if the sun weren’t so close.
So, how close is the sun? And how much space does it take to hold 1.3 million Earths? And while we’re at it:
• If the sun is in the vacuum of space, how does it burn?
• What keeps all that gas from leaking into space?
• Why does the sun send out solar flares?
• Will it ever stop burning?

10:27 I just LOVE this part of the video, when you draw the sun with all its layers. Drawing with pencil is so good, I forget that sometimes. An unsharp pencil made it even better. Drawing very light lines and making them darker step by step (making those fuzzy lines) is extremely relaxing to watch. It’s super rare that videos can give me tingles, but this one surely did. Keep up the great work Rich! Nice to see your channel grow, congrats on 40K subs!

Ephemeral rift and Gibi suck in my opinion. If I want to listen to somebody repeat themselves over and over I'll just watch congress or the Senate debate. This asmr is not only educational but he does subjects and incorporates the asmr into it.
He is next to the Russian asmr lady in skill. Don't know her name but yeah, she's the biggest one out there so far. This guy is tie with her. Other asmr people are just mimics and repetitive nonsense of what they think people want to hear.
Basically, the mumble rappers of asmr are people like gibi. Cool that they dupe so many idiots and make a living off of it though so. There's that.
@@CarbonCreation6C ephemeral rift is for those who enjoy expansive worlds and lore, something that i, personally, love but its all down to taste - rift has skill because of the ~100 different characters that he plays, all relatively unique (with some recycled ideas, which he manages to weave into the lore with at least some degree of skill) and the fact that his characters often share his passions, and not just one of them, like most people (like jojos asmr is cards and this guys asmr is interesting facts) and imo hes more of a skilled actor and lore builder rather than a perfect asmrtist

That‘s probably the best ASMR experience I‘ve ever had! The style of this video is kinda like storytelling, I love that aspect. Moreover, it reminds me of my childhood when I wanted to know everything about the universe 👌
Our sun is actually not yellow. It shines white light in space and only looks yellow filtered through our atmosphere depending on the angle (more red closer to the horizon).
But love all the vids! Keep putting me to sleep!

This is wonderful. Your whisper, the faint background music, the paper and drawing sounds are perfection.
A recent study has suggested that Andromeda is actually about the same size as the Milky Way. It was previously thought to be quite a bit bigger. What we "know" is always changing as we learn more. Rich, you might like Anton Petrov if you aren't already aware of his channel - he does daily newsworthy science videos mostly about astronomy. Not ASMR, but good stuff and lots of Universe Sandbox simulations as well.

You should do some terrifying facts about the universe such as: rogue planets, galactic canabalism, black holes, neutrinos and the fact that there is a gravitational warp that is only explained by dark matter or even the fact that the universe isn’t absolute zero it’s got an ambient heat.
