  • Hey! This is where I stayed for my first year of university, in this video you get to see my room and the facilities that are provided throughout the rest of the accommodation:)
    I hope you enjoy this tour, I am still getting used to editing and I am really enjoying it so far!
    Feel free to drop any questions down below.
    *I did miss one entertainment/social room out as to go in there you need a special access key because that room is for booked events (such as parties), but it is essentially the same size as the other social/study spaces.

    I’m looking at accommodation here for next year. Was there a big price different between the shared kitchen and a suite with your own? X

    • @JadeGabrielle
      @JadeGabrielle  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes from what I remember it worked out significantly cheaper for me to share a kitchen with someone else so it was my best option, especially as this accommodation is already more expensive compared to some other student halls in Nottingham. However, I do recommend this accommodation because I loved how modern and fresh it is, giving you the luxury that other halls often lack. The prices do tend to change each academic year so just keep checking on their website xx

    I’m looking at getting this accom!! How strict are they on visitors ? As my boyfriend is going to loughborough and he plans on coming up a bit? Also is there parking nearby and can you get a permit?

    • @JadeGabrielle
      @JadeGabrielle  Před 2 lety +1

      Awh how cute my boyfriend also had to travel from Loughborough whilst I was at NOVA! There is not parking at NOVA but there are nearby car parks that you can pay for and yes I do believe you could get a permit but these are all things you'd have to research (perhaps try on Nottingham City Council websites). Goodluck!x

    hey girl, Im starting uni at ntu in september and Im looking into accommodation. I keep seeing that private accommodation looks SO much nicer but Im worried it won't have the same social aspect for first years and the parties and stuff, what do you think? any advice?? xxx

    • @JadeGabrielle
      @JadeGabrielle  Před 3 lety +5

      Hey! I have answered something similar in a previous question and wrote this: In all honesty I do think that university own accommodation is more social for freshers because they have university reps who try to get everyone involved. However, I still managed to meet lovely people at NOVA but it did take a bit longer I would say. When I was at NOVA there was a Facebook & WhatsApp group chat made where I could socialise with people. If you do end up in private accommodation like I was, my one tip is to be as confident as you can be and reach out to others even if it is something you are afraid of doing, as I wish I had done it sooner xx

    • @JadeGabrielle
      @JadeGabrielle  Před 3 lety +5

      In addition, I would say deffo try to join as much clubs/societies as you can because they really are a great way to meet people with similar interests as you (in my first year I did cheerleading and met great girls). Also put yourself out there, one time I went to a party all by myself (which is something I would never have done before uni) and I met one of my closest uni friends from the party - I may do a video on this topic soon xx

    • @JadeGabrielle

      From my experience it was an equal mix of all the year groups. They tend to make you share a kitchen with someone that is in your year group so that helps/ you cold even request that you want to be near first years and I am sure they would accommodate you!

      Hey girl! I'd say most first years start to get accommodation from about January, normally they go pretty fast in Nottingham so I'd recommend not waiting until super last minute. However, now with COVID it may not be as much as a rush, but deffo keep up to date with NTU as I'm sure they'll be giving recommendations regarding the next academic year and I wish you the best of luck with your uni application!xx

    • @JadeGabrielle

      In the UK tuition is normally the same for everyone (as of recently that is £9,250 per year).
      The rent for this accommodation was around £156 p/wk (but I cannot remember the exact figure and I know that the prices for this accommodation have since increased).
