@@nifeab Why so serious? xD
I was starting to think he was doing it on purpose haha
After doing these for several months I notice a great increase in accuracy and confidence and looseness. Thank you
So happy to hear that, congrats!
This exercise is great for sketching on paper, too. Loosening up is the most relaxed approach. Thank you for these exercises! I’m going to introduce them to my drawing class.
Awesome, glad you found these exercises helpful and thanks for letting me know Judy!
4:26 *me when I accidentally draw something inappropriate* 😂
Smol Potato I love this comment so much
Lmao
?? I don’t get it-
Automatic drawing is really good
100% agree
Watching this got me thinking. I'm turning 31 next week and drawing and painting has been a struggle for a few years now. I think back on high school/jr. high and how I was just drawing ALL THE TIME. The amount of content I created was staggering.
And I realize, I was scribbling like this ALL THE TIME. This was it. My brain was always in drawing mode because I was scribbling random shapes and doodling on notebooks and worksheets. It was like a constant state of warming up between moments of working on homework/schoolwork, and then I would settle into drawing and actually be ready to draw.
Thanks for this. I need to do this more. I think if I can even just focus on scribbling and doing these kinds of exercises for a few days it will help me get back into some kind of groove. Great video.
That's awesome, thanks for sharing all that! I'm turning 31 in a couple months myself. Yeah, I think so many problems with making art is more psychological than technical. It's like we have to get out of our own way and just make stuff without judging it. There's a time for refining and editing later on, but at the start of any project it's best to be loose and simply enjoy the process. Best of luck, I'm happy this vid could inspire you to get back into the groove.
*tries to draw a circle*
*acidentally makes the Monalisa*
Well shit.
XD
Wow I am just starting digital drawing and this is exactly what I needed!!! So thank you!!
@@side2269 I don't know how he is but how are you? Any progress?
bruh i love how unsure you are about what your tips but really persistent to keep us on practicing, this exercise has been really helpful thank you!!
This is exactly what i needed
Tnx a lot dude, Im starting to improve my art, it gets better and better everyday now
how long have you been doing this? i'm talking about animation, i really like your style dude. And i feel like learning how you do stuff like this might help any type of animator, and it lookis really fun to produce. Good job!
Started animating about 10 years ago!
See me in 3 months and ill tell you how I improved, ive done this exercise for about a week and ive actually been improving since then, so thank you REALLY
Im gonna go back to this comment in 3 months, hopefully i dont forget :^
Awesome
I'll reply again in 3 months
@@GINSHOTGUN huh
how is it going?
its been three months, how's it going :)
I appreciate your sincerity and gentle approach! This is the first video i've seen of yours but I get the impression that you're humble and knowledgeable! I'm excited to practice more and thank you for inspiring me towards animating! I'll keep watching!
Can this video improve this right away?
@@thehistorymuseum8745 yes after you watch this video, you basically become pablo picasso, 100% guarantee
I'm in love of these exercises, I was looking for something like this for a while. Thank you so much!!
You're so welcome! Glad you could get some use out of it :)
It did was really helpful, thank you! I'm used to do warm ups but I never know what kind of stuff is truly meaningful (for the drawing session), your video helped clarify my thoughts!
Really glad to hear that!
You're an artist in many ways. :)
This is what I've been missing. Everytime I try to draw, it's a challenge. I feel so stiff and lazy. Thanks. 👍
Love it! Thank you so much for providing some helpful stuff! :D Nice and simple~
For sure, thanks for watching! Let me know if you have any ideas for future videos.
So this is just meditation in art form? Damn this is good
Lol Not only is this exactly what I was looking for but you seem pretty chill and likable. Here have my subscription!
whenever I warmed up before it just always felt like meandering and like I wasn't doing anything. These feel like real exercise.
Okay thank you so much. My drawings and sketches got way better after these exercises.
Thanks a lot, as I have no drawing experience, this amazing exercise.
Loved the video! Thanks for all the super helpfull info!
This is really a nice video get to know how important the practice is!!! Thank you Magane!😆
Always excited for your uploads
Muchly appreciated :)
Thank you for making this video, it was very helpful for me. A lot of the other youtubes I've been watching just jump right in and expect the viewer to follow along and start drawing whatever it is that the video lesson is focused on for the day. I usually have a hard time keeping up with these tutorials because I've only been drawing for 3 days now and didn't know about doing warm-ups before I start trying to draw. This video did exactly what you said it should do. If I spend a little time getting used to drawing shapes and lines first I find it a lot easier to draw along with various daily lessons without falling behind because I'm overthinking every line on the page. I still really suck at everything but after warming up with these exercises I don't get hung up on how bad my drawings are and that allows me to focus on developing technique and improving my skills.
thank you for your time and i hope your doing ok, i'm not doing animation but these are great exercises. they will be very helpful.
Thanks for the good exercise ideas!
that is really helpful, thank you!
Thank you for sharing this, its really usefull and Im certanly trying all of them. You have an amazing pencil control. The only thing that I missed greatly is that when you show your cintiq recordings, we dont get to see the mechanics of your arm and hand movements. I am an amateur and I feel that I can improve much more by getting to actually see how you move your arms (wrist/vs elbow vs shoulder movement) and handle your pencil, instead of deducing it.
I didn't even think about that, great suggstion!
You are my hero 🎉 I raise my glass to you 🥂
Siiiiick thanks man just got a tablet and looking forward to see the improvements thank you !,,
Im doing a art class and had no idea what monotone pencil drawing was.... Thanks bro
Sir thank you really appreciated idk what to do so this really helped

Like the BGM..it's kinda..makes me feel...peace
Tysm! I was in art block when I saw this and it helped so much
Super glad to hear that! Any other video ideas for me?
This really helps. Mommy jist bought a drawing tablet and I'm lost and I searched some tips and I saw this. This is good, that's all :)))
This was so helpful, thank you!
I'm a senior year illustration major but your videos have helped me understand animation so much, so thank you for that!!
Awesome, glad to hear that! Thanks for letting me know. I am in fact focusing on making more animation tutorials - are there any topics you'd like to see covered?
@@MicahBuzanANIMATION I really enjoyed your reaction to Akira but I think a more in depth look at how and what makes scenes in great animation really work. Things like technique, how you think they did it, shortcuts they probably took, color palette, etc. I also only animate frame by frame in photoshop cause I'm an animal, but I'm always looking for ways that I can keep a hand done look while making the process more efficient. The principal videos have been super helpful and maybe more advanced videos diving into more dynamic animation and how to effectively push perspective and space would be super cool!
My work tends to be very flat and fluid but I'd like to push my ability to create a believable space. A video on morphing / transitioning between forms would be unbelievably helpful to me!!
I'm not sure how much you can speak on this but the business side of art is seemingly not talked about, I think an honest opinion on this career path and maybe an in depth pricing guide for animation would be different but still extremely helpful for people trying to make illustration/animation a full time career
Thank you for you help :)
Man I haven’t drawn in like 3 years man I lost my motivation and to be completely honest I lost my touch I was trying to draw and I couldn’t even do a simple shape! I’m gonna try these exercises thanks bro!

Feel as tho I'm changing channels on interdimensional cable like in Rick and Morty and this randomly grabs my attention. Lol I like it

6:18 what’s the background music here?
5:28 when god was making the dinosaurs
1:24 I have now learned that my hand-eye coordination is crap. I'm drawing traditionally. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAÀA. qwq.
Edit: NVM, I'm getting better. :) (Also I don't use a table so that might be a component;;)
Nice exercice :)
Thanks, hope it helps. Any ideas for what I should do for another tutorial?
Nice!!
thanks a lot, very helpful
Thank you great and helpful video
Excellent explanations 🎨🎨😊🖼
Hi Micah, nice video covering some fundamental contents for git gud. I just wanted to ask, what are your brush configurations? I would really appreciate it man, thanks!
Very daoist exercises. I dig
wow !!
Buy a roll of lining paper from where you get your wallpaper. You get masses of decent white paper for not much cash. Good for practicing.
When drawing a straight line, it helps to put your (pencil) at the starting point, then look at where it is going to end and draw without moving your eyes.
yes, very fluid
Nice! Subbed.
Hi! Newbie here
What software are you using?
he's so awkward and cute XD. These are very helpful tho. Thank u! >w
Big thanks, glad u found it helpful! That inspires me to make more of these :)
great video,thx
Thanks brother 🙏 very helpful
what is your brush It really looks like a real life pencil
from basics i try on adobe animate software or drawing sheet ? because i want to become good animator !
What size tablet ? I’m on a small intous with ultra-wide screen. 2560x1080.
show how to setup pages and pen or brush tool before drawing ...?
I honestly don’t know what to draw at all but I want to learn the basics any recommendations on websites where I can learn basics?
thank you.
How to draw faces or different head shapes
damn this video is si statisfying.
what app do you use
How many min/hrs should I practice it?
I draw random dots and connect them all the time! Or I do random scribbles and form up a drawing hiding inside that scribble!
I'm really curious! Are you doing this with a mouse?
Wacom drawing tablet
Should i exercise your way even tho i don't draw digitaly?
Definitely!
It’s the same concept whether it’s digital or with paper.
Can’t unsee them PG-13 shapes
4:26 omg this cinnamon roll. . . . .
4:27 - The c's look like frightened anime eyes.
Akira manga collection on the book shelf
Good eye. It's the best, Otomo is a legend.
This is not important but I'm kinda ticked off 12:13 its not getting slower, it has 0 speed and momentum... Nice vid dude you helped me a lor
How much time should I spend on those exercises per day?
I find just a few minutes loosens me up. I animate so much I hardly ever do these exercises, since I'm already drawing so much. But If I take a break for a day or two, then these warm ups definitely help me get better lines.
