Did Scorch survive The Bad Batch season 3 finale? We see a clone commando in the background during the aftermath of Mount Tantiss that looks like Scorch's armor. Is Scorch still alive? Hopefully we get a new clone trooper series featuring clones like Scorch, Captain Rex and Commander Cody - Zábava

If Scorch was alive, I think he would've talked directly with Tarkin instead of Captain Bragg about the status of Mount Tantiss.
My only counter to that is if he’d been injured in the fall, he’d probably still be recovering and Bragg is simply delivering the info Scorch provided
@@BK-cu7ce Maybe, but if that's the case, I would think that Captain Bragg would've mentioned Scorch by name or by rank as he was the commander of Mount Tantiss (or at least just commander) and worked closely and directly under Hemlock.

@@harrisonnguyen5432 I actually think the opposite, if the base commander died mentioning them as one of the “several troopers” who perished doesn’t give important information, you’d say directly the base commander died as well, and if he’s alive it’s unimportant at that point since there’s a commander who lived and gave testimony to the events that happened

Dave included Scorch, as far as I can tell, solely as an easter egg and call back to the old games and books as all of that content is now technically legends. Which is probably why clone commandos feel a little underutilized and misrepresented because we have the legends knowledge of what commandos were, but they aren't exactly that anymore. It is also worth mentioning that Clone force 99 is in fact commando level at the very least so them beating regular clone commandos pretty regularly shouldn't be too surprising. I'm also not surprised with the position of clone commandos in the bad batch, it is made very clear by the empire that they want to phase clones out and replace them so clone commandos being utilized as highly elite security detail and troop trainers isn't too far fetched
If Scourch was still alive, he probably could've gotten a much bigger role for a future animated show involving the clones in the Empire

It's not that far fetched if he's alive: 1. the katarn/commando armor is much stronger than normal armor so any of the shots on the armor likely didn't do much, 2. the fall wasn't too high and it's quite likely that the trees would've broken his fall. It really wouldn't be much of a somehow. After all, he should be alive to reunite with his squad and especially Sev. And dude's already been in enough pain having been brainwashed and having his joyful self being stripped from him.
I mean if you rewatch the scene of him getting shot you can notice a few details. One: You can those blaster shots never penetrated fully or got to his actual body. Two: He was still moving and trying to aim while losing his balance and falling off the edge of the railing. Whether or not he survived the fall is up to the writers but i’d like to imagine he did. Clone commandos are notorious for their survivability (ESPECIALLY Delta Squad members)

If you look closely you can see scorch twice in the same frame. Definitely just a animation error using the same model.

There is no way they've used Scorch model for that scene by mistake.
My bet the original intention was to show Scorch and several elite commandos(those with grey stripes), but they messed up somewhere during production so we have Scorch multiplied

And a shield generator. The shots did seem to disperse and not penetrate the armor completely. Tbh I feel like they could justify him surviving through the use of the lore behind the Katarn Armor

Pretty sure about it, but imagine how lit it would be if we got something like Tales of the Delta Squad, where in the last episode we see Scorchs final moments before hitting the ground, remembering his brother's one last time. That would hurt.

Although this was an animation error I'd like to believe this could be an out for scorchs character to potentially come back in the future.

I mean did Hunter not survive getting shot several times and falling off a cliff of about the same size in season 1? Granted they were on separate occasions but both scenarios are survivable on their own.

Scorch was a good soldier during the clone wars. He was part of the Delta squad, from the soldier of the Republic to the commando trooper of the Empire. Good soldiers follow orders.
There's a really good lore reason.
So the Kataran Quote armor is really well known for its good heat and freezing dispersion, making it perfect for a war where blasters make extreme levels of heat combined with the Commandos Ray shield protecting them. This makes his damages minimal as it looks like the blaster shots only went a few inches in, and that's it. Commando armor was SUPREME at blaster protection, and so was the sheild, and from the republic commando game, we havelearned no, 5 shots DOES NOT break the sheilds but it did get close. He was just in shock from being shot for the first time in forever that wasn't stun.
And his bag, it's not useless infcat it has medical supplies, food, water and stuff to survive off of meaning and hes trained, so chances are hes alive. No doubt in my mind as he had the armor. And now the falling

If he was shot in the chest like that, but was still able to scream as he fell, then he was probably fine.

Scorch surviving is something I would be fine with. Literally what’s the point of adding him into a show and give him a name but never do a single thing with him? Why let his name be said but not give any actual respect? All it was is fan service and wasn’t even good fan service. Every time u see him, u think he would be of some importance but he had no importance was just there to be there. His armor is supposed to be busted right? He should be able to still be alive.

Scorch is meant to be there as a call out to legends and simultaneously saying goodbye to Legends. Delta Squad was the old Clone Force 99 is the new lol That is how I saw Scorch this whole time anyway.
I will just theorize that he was able to get some ascension cable from his belt and stop his fall Obi Wan style.
Well. If Gregor survived getting blown up with enough Rhydonium to at least fuel up a cruiser it is possible, and he did develop some quirks after getting blown up though. And if the idea that the Katarn armor at least and the shielding systems disperse kinetic and thermal energy are on the table. One might conclude that he's got some level of plot armor and therefore we may be either getting a spinoff series concerning the Commandos or perhaps a future surprise game. All conjecture hehe. Perhaps if he did survive getting mashed into the dirt that might've loosened his programming giving us back the Scorch we all love and know sometime in the future.
Okay so I def think that frame was animation error. However as for whether he's dead or not is unknown tbh. We thought Gregor was dead for how long? Few years at least? I think it's possible he's alive. We should assume that he's dead but I don't think it's impossible to bring him back in a way that would hurt the writing/character, nothing like how bringing tech back to life would do that.

well i dont think its him because than he would have told tarkin about omega and other stuff. right now it looks like the empire lost everything, all information as well as all of the science progress. Scorch did know at least some things about the things going on on that station so why wouldnt he telll anyody? i guess its just a lazy mistake some animators did right there and even if he survived i think he would definatly need some medical treatment. however thats just my opinion. he could have survived because in season 1 i think when they rescued gregor, gregor was shot a few times by scorch right in the chest. gregor wore a commando armor as well in that situation so why would one go out with almost nothing but the other in going to die from the same thing. and if he survived the bullets to the chest even the fall doesnt mean he died. we saw that the surface of the planet is almost forest only and we saw hunter for example too falling from a ship hitting some trees and landing on the ground being almost uninjured. so if scorch was lucky enough he might have survived that too by falling into some trees. so i guess hes dead even tho such a ... death for such a famous character is really really bad. but he might have survived.

I really want a dark animated Delta squad Show that's set in the clone wars and spend maybe two seasons set in the clone wars and then transition to order 66 and beginning of the empire it could be a four or 5 season series which would be really cool

First Scorch could literally survive as Katarn class armor is very durable plus there are trees down there to break the fall. But if he does, then he's in big trouble for failing in Tantiss
OR he dies, and the reason his death was... Dirty... Is because he's the last surviving member of Delta Squad: his brain was just not there. And now the whole squad has been wiped

katarn armor is really strong just ask Gregor blown up twice in the suit and even shot with just the chest piece on he only died when it was off

Cope, let's face it guys it was fan service to see the Commandos the first time round rather than just being lost to the pages of history, it was cool to see them, but they did nothing in this show and Bad Batch is basically the Delta squad in essence of having special clones in a special squad doing special missions so why would they do the exact same thing again.

@@zippyknightsplayz4524 I have I it’s a lighting trick also the whites of the armor aren’t in the same areas, if he was alive Ide want to make it a bit more clear, maybe have the camera pass by him on a stretcher or something but my guy was shot 4 times and fell 30 plus feet into into a jungle infested with monsters backside first, damn near on his head, the likelihood of his survival is low. And final point he’s a clone, at this point in time the empire doesn’t really care much for them they were just phased out, if a clone goes missing…. Who cares right.

I think it’s a possibility due to Katarn-class commando armor being far superior to regular clone armor. I’m assuming though that he was supposed to have died,
because even though Katarn armour is strong we’ve also seen reg armor take multiple hits I.e Commander Thorns last stand.
However I think it’s a possibility for him to have survived with Disney’s treatment of villains surviving falls.

Just wondering why people care about Scorch so much?
Assuming this is a legitimate question, I'll try and answer as best I can from my perspective. Scorch is a very cared for character by a fraction of the fanbase because he is a character that holds great nostalgia. Republic Commando came out for the original xbox and PC during the era that Halo was still in its peak. Halo, starting with Combat Evolved, essentially revolutionized how first person shooters were played on console. So this was also an era where FPS were very popular, especially considering all the attention that things like Halo 2 was garnering. Republic Commando admittedly played took many roots and played like a clunkier Halo CE with a very basic form of squad commands (taking something like SOCOM as the basis for your standard tactical shooter squad game). So it was a product of its time, taking a winning game playstyle formula and attaching a very well known name to it, that being Star Wars. It was a very fond part of many childhoods, including myself. It was at least popular enough to have a book series released based around the its concept, which further expanded its fanbase. It had done well enough that many hoped for the republic commandos to be explored again, especially Delta Squad as the game left us on a cliffhanger.
If I remember right, Republic Commando came out in 2005. So for many of us fans of the RC series, we had been waiting for over a decade and a half to see anything done with them. We had received some hope when the republic commandos were added to EA's Battlefront 2. We also had the higher hopes of something since Republic Commando has been rereleased, this time on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. So the entry was getting more attention. But the Bad Batch was the most direct involvement in a sequel sense for the republic commandos, and especially Scorch himself, a character everyone who played the game would most likely remember. Seeing Scorch in his first appearance in the Bad Batch caused a great stir due to this.
Legends Scorch is very different from the new Disney version, but his legends counterpart always stuck out as the one to lighten the mood or tension. As the game put it best, he was the heart and soul of Delta Squad. This brought a great amount of fans to him specifically. It made him memorable, especially as Republic Commando was the first showcasing of clones with personalities. And while we know that Disney's Scorch is very different from Legend's Scorch, the character was still brought back. When a legends character is brought back, in some form or fashion, the said character is almost like "inheriting" the original legacy the character had before Disney. Otherwise it would make more sense to just use an original character created by the story writers. So bringing Scorch up carried that weight and expectations of his former self, the version that many have fond memories of. That is why even though Disney's Scorch is by all accounts, a different character, his utilization in the Bad Batch has left a poor taste to many who are fans of where Scorch originates from. Hope this helps explain it some.

My fingers are crossed for real. They better bring him back, and make a new Delta Squad series. Just have Sev revive his wounds with Bacta. Plus that armor is pretty much overprotected. And a few commandos took a lot of hits while Scorch only took 5. So certainly, Scorch will be fine. Just bring him back, to reunite with his brother; Sev
