I had one brand new in 1978 and it had a rifled barrel. It was one of the most accurate air guns I ever shot with BB's.
Another one brought back for a second LIFE!! Good job!
Thanks Cw!
Nice lil shooter
The "strange" 760 gun you describe with the conical front half of the valve and the old style rear valve is the 4th variant, made from 1975-1977. This was a hybrid, or transitional style, in that it was still self-cocking, but introduced the conical valve body and and matching pump cup that carried over to the 5th and all subsequent manual cocking variants. So the rebuilt flathead piston won't help you on that one, you simply replace the pump cup on the piston.. The rest of the seals that typically come in those kits can be used. The 760 you show in this video with the rifled barrel is the 6th variant, made 1980-1983. All 6th variants had rifled barrels. The first 3 digits of your serial number will tell you the month and year of manufacture, for example "880.." would be August 1980.
Great shooting sir
Nice shooting. They are fun little rifles.
I have a 760 made in 69 and one made in 74 and both are smooth bore. I have 2 made in the late 80's and both are rifled
Are they pumpmasters or powermasters?
@@WalnutandSteel The two older ones with smooth bore are powermasters. Others are pumpmasters
Nice đđ» fix . If you shoot 9 oâclock you will be close to the bull. Thanks
I tried to find the answer online, but had no luck. I have two 760 pumpmasters and both are smooth bore, but my 66 powermaster is rifled
Will have to recheck mine
hhad an old 760 with Brass Bolt & Front (forend) had tootsie roll) like the first Remingtom 760's it was rifled as as well
You got a good one there ! đ Nicely Done... đđ
I have a 760 Powermaster variant 4 like that, but with brass bolt. Same metal receiver. Late 70's. You can find the month and year of build at the beginning of the serial number on the receiver if made after July 1975.
I have the commemorative version born in 1991 . Wood and metal rifled barrel . It says Pumpmaster .
I would love to find one of those!
@@WalnutandSteel Yes I was lucky , not in perfect shape about 95% , but functions perfectly . Original box and paper work included.
Where do you purchase your parts?
Henry Ford Airguns. You can find his parts on ebay. Look up Crosman600repair for a username
I have a 760 that I got in 1971 at some point the pump arm stopped locking against the pump chamber, It springs lose and away from the air chamber body do you know how to fix this problem?
The arm on the older ones are held up by the tight fit of the pump cup against the valve face at the end of the pump stroke. So either the pump arm is misadjusted or the pump arm is worn out probably at the joint between the handle and the shaft
