Gotta respect this guy for showing a video without an acceptance from the Ivies. Too many people have NOT shown videos like this and therefore give the impression you always get in. You do not usually get in Ivies. People are too embarrassed to show failure, but this guy is not- and that will HELP him in life! We ALL fail- a LOT. If you were waitlisted by Harvard, man, you had a damn good shot of getting in a couple of Ivies. Congrats- but transfer to an Ivy if you want. Indiana is a fun place so stay put if you are happy there.
UC Berkeley has a relatively high acceptance rate too for transfers. Do well your first 2 semesters maybe 4 and give it a shot. If not, graduating from a Big Ten school is still great.
I went to IU for music and changed to College of Arts and Sciences. Applied for transfer but ended up staying in Bloomington and glad I did. Got a fantastic education, great professors, great people, Bloomington is a fun college town, beautiful campus. You can go to an elite graduate school if you want. Make the most of IU and you’ll be fine.

@@sjpfree64 I absolutely agree. Sometimes all you need is waiting right in front of you. I've already had many fantastic experiences on campus with aspects that you mentioned, including Bloomington's amazing campus, and I'm so glad I ended up here at the end of the day.

Don't worry about all those rejections, it's better to be a big fish at a small pond than to be a small fish at a big pond. Ultimately, you get pretty much the same experience and education. The only difference is the network and the personal branding you get from going to an Ivy. And like you said, the admissions process is very unpredictable and way more hard to get into as a non legacy/ first generation. It's truly what you make out of the opportunities you get. Anyways, have a great time at IU. Btw, just asking... do you speak Telugu?
